Welcome back to another episode where man and machine attempt to do battle with Haulover Inlet!
This episode we are back home at Haulover Inlet. Who will take the win this week between Haulover Inlet and the Boats?

That Chaparral did everything just right give it to the boats, no one got soaked no sodas were spilled and the crew did not get beat down. A solid win for the boats

Last boat wins. No, it wasn't exciting and it wasn't a display of absolute top-knotch helming ability. But it was a good example of good captaining. He takes it slow and within his abilities. Doesn't try to show off and get his crew hurt. Also does it nicely; slow doesn't look exciting but he didn't get pushed sideways or look out of control at any point. Haulover threw all the waves it had at this guy and he just kept on turtling in without a care in the world. Its a win for the boats there.

Agreed,it was so controlled and smooth,and he actually went with the flow,AND he turned around time to time to check back on the people riding along :)

two thumbs up for the last captain.. Appears he went with what he was comfortable with,, which is good.. Goes back to never drive outside your abilities.. He also appears to be very alert.. Captain knows what's up and is careful while doing his thing.. great job in my opinion...
The last boat never stuffed the bow, didn't smash the passengers around and never lost control. In my book that's a win.
Last boat wins. Overly cautious,,,yes. But the bow stays clear, the captain was always in control of the boat, and the passengers had a relatively smooth ride--which is the entire point of leaving the dock.
Not too slow at all. I like rolling in with the waves lazily. It's a little hypnotic, but nobody's getting jolted from the bow smacking the water after jumping a wave.
There's a saying around aviation that I've taken up for boating: "A superior Captain uses his superior judgement to keep him out of situations that would require his superior skill" The last boater was an excellent example of that.
I appreciate the man sitting in the front not doing one thing to help what appears to be his family…wife and two kids bouncing around the the wife holding on to her smaller child for dear life. I’m not sure I’d ever gain back any respect for him if I was her. 🤯
Can we find that guy and have him arrested for child endangerment?
The Chapperal takes it. Everyone is entitled to his own style. As long as he made it in safely without taking water over the bow he wins.

Last boat was a winner. Granted, he was a little overly cautious and had a couple of waves overtake him, but nothing bad came of it and it was overall a pretty smooth ride in.
Give the final contest to the overly cautious CHAP for the WIN. All one needs to do is compare him to the complete lack of caution and possible injuries the earlier TRITON BONEHEAD displayed and the Chap skipper clearly earns a WIN for the BOAT - and thanks for these videos, we luv 'em
I’m happy as hell to see the comment section giving the last Captain credit and calling it a win for the boats…100% that’s the deal in my eyes.
It wasn’t very exciting…but it was safe and not stupid. As often as we see Captains doing incredibly stupid stuff at Haulover, this is a win all day long.
Entering or exiting a cut like this should be uneventful or you shouldn't be there in a boat. :-)

The Cigarette at the 2 minute mark was a huge win for the boats. They slowed down and took it easy. just like the final boat. A nice boring no drama ride.
At least they were wearing life jackets in the bow of that boat on the second round
That Chaparral wins it! It might not have been pretty but none of the family was slammed to the deck. It's a smart Captain that knows what he can do and what he cannot!!

Second boat was a total failure and on the border of being criminal in relation to being a worthy captain.
The last boat was a win for the boats, that captain had a nice line entering the inlet.
I'm a chapparal owner. I like chapparal owners thus far. Ones that I know and ones that I've seen. Like to party ,but level headed. The guy at the end cruised in just right. Good on him.
1st boat had kids with no life jackets in the bow. How was that a win?

Kids were seated in the center of the vessel back from the bow with a cautious captain, win for the boat!

@off gridsss not an argument I’m going to have. I have seen too many videos of people going overboard at haulover. Luckily none have been children that can’t swim. Children in the bow need to have on life jackets full stop.

Staying within your personal limits always wins in my books! Specialy when behind the wheel of any vehicle and with responsibility for your passengers. But if you can send it and send well with good judgment then by all means SEND IT
Last boat was a winner. Sometimes you have to be a little cautious, and maybe he's either new to boating or that boat. Shame about that Cigarette though. I love the go fast boats. That's what they're made for

You said there's not many rules, but stuffing is an automatic loss.
Without a clear loss, seeing how difficult the waves were, he should get a win.
The Cap definitely gets a win, for not wrecking, or pitching a passenger.
If nothing negative happened, it's really an automatic win for the Cap.
No stuffing,no screaming, no one tossed about...
it might seem a low standard for operation for a win, what you did NOT Do...
but in all honesty, I'm not doing any better Captaining through there.
The speed of the vessel is almost a non-issue, imho;
As a fact, plenty can happen even when a boat goes slowly.
Slow speed isn't a guarantee that it'll all go smoothly.
But this guy had his rhythm--
especially if he had a passenger, he gets extra credit maybe..

Last boat, I think a Chaparral, wins hands down. What kind of Moran would risk his crews and personal safety and his expensive boat just to show off for a camera like so many do. I have a love hate relationship with this channel, but I can't stop watching!!!

Last boat was a win. I used to do the same in my 1968 13’ Whaler…not at Haulover. But I would go out into the ocean in it and come back in the same way through the breakers. Basically just surfing one in. Very conservative but it was a small boat.

Last boat for the win. He made it in safely to the inlet, and that is the most important factor on a day like this one.
That last one was a win for the boats.....all on board stayed dry, onboard and had their feets & seats planted the whole way in.

"too slow" is only when the water curling over your stern...anytime you make it through safely, without flooding boat, in control, is just right...regardless other's opinions...
You can’t convict being cautious, boat wins, although sometimes the expression “ when in doubt power out “ does apply.

Haulover won the episode in round 2 it don't matter if you think every other boat won. That smackdown vs the family was the worst I have ever seen

The last one, hmmm... The skipper was in survival mode, and he survived it well, the question is whether a better speed or path would have worked better, and I doubt we can tell that from the camera zoom level.
