Webby is an elevated extra the dumbass writers tried too hard to make "canon." And Donald "adopting" May and June is the show's attempt at "foreshadowing" and referencing "Legend of the Three Caballeros" where Donald, the other two Caballeros, Daisy and April, May and June play a big role.
May and June will probably be adopted by Donald and Daisy, who will probably later get married since they're getting serious, in fact, May, June and April were originally the nieces of Daisy. Just imagine Wendy becoming a teenage girl with a father like Scrooge, especially when it comes to boys.
I would love to see them get adopted by Donald and Daisy, and become big sisters to Donald Jr. Who is Donald Jr. yo ask, look up the Donald Duck short "How To Have An Accident at Work"
Wait, if may and june is basically the daugther of webby, then doesn't that mean donald and daisy adopted his own family, this.....really a very comfusing family
I actually suspected this twist really early in season 3, but I wrote it off because I thought it was too “out there”. I’m glad to see that the writers took that plunge and made Webby’s Scrooge’s clone/daughter. It’s kind of an homage to the very fatherly love he had for her in the ‘87 version, but worked in well, plot-wise.
I super agree with "Webby didn't need to be Scrooge's daughter to be considered a McDuck." However, I think that's one of the reasons why I love this twist so much. If Webby wasn't already so close to Scrooge and the family, this might've felt like more of an excuse to include her. But because she was already included and very much loved by all, finally revealing her backstory and learning that she was closer to the McDuck's than we ever thought before felt like an earned conclusion. I think that the show has done more than enough to reinforce the importance and abundance of found family/unconventional family structures, so linking Webby to Scrooge genetically doesn't undermine any of those wonderful messages. To me, it was a nice cherry on the top of both Webby and Scrooge's stories, adding a bit of depth to their relationship that only this version of DuckTales could've dreamed to even attempt. I think it was a bold choice that was executed well. I love how everything comes together in the finale, the writing this whole season has been hinting and building to this. The writers planned this out so well and its so satisfying to me. As soon as the Papyrus of Binding was introduced earlier in the season, I wondered which of the kids would find it, and I don't think I ever guessed Webby. Watching this show was such a cool experience, I'm sad to see it end.
"Earned conclusion" this so true! The last lines from the four kids; Huey: "we're smarter" Dewey: "we're tougher" Louie: "we're sharper" and Webby: "we'll make our way square"
No. This was damned stupid. Webby is an elevated extra the dumbass writers tried too hard to make "canon" but by doing so negated Webby's biological claim to her grandma, negated the triplets, Donald's and Della's claim to Scrooge and negated April, May and June (who were characters LONG before Webby) as their own characters. Screw this asspull ending.
Both are very good twist but, admittedly, I think the Webby twist feel more shocking compared to Cassandra since almost a lot of people (Including myself) actually saw that coming. Either ways, both are very good twist.
I never actually watched the tangled series and even I saw that reveal coming from following this chennel's recaps. The Webby thing, I had been saying clone for a while but could never figure out "Of Who". And the answer wasnt even in my top 5 guesses.
Thank you for explaining this. Webby was Scrooge's true heir and not May or June because she earned Scrooge's love beforehand, not because of her direct blood relation; when FOWL used her to get the Papyrus, Scrooge had already accepted her as part of the family. It doesn't cheapen the message that they're blood-related because May and June are genetically identical to her. May and June were still complete strangers to the Ducks, so they couldn't have possibly found the Papyrus themselves. That's not even mentioning their OWN concepts of family; of the three, only Webby understood that family is more than just blood, and as far as she knew at the time, her only relation to Scrooge was being raised in his manor. But she still saw the Ducks as her family, and even now that she knows, Mrs. Beakley, Lena, and Violet are still her family, too.

Now that you think of it, the feather Black Heron got in the episode "the split sword of swanstentine"was Webby's not Scrooge's. They used that to clone her and make May and June. 😃
@@cristelpintorsanchez6555 Yup. It's a complex bit of DNA cloning. Each clone has it's own experience and thus life. Though I love how the Writers did the Fountain of youth! I keep thinking back to it and it's like... OMG.
@@cristelpintorsanchez6555 Not really tbh. Webby is genetically identical to Scrooge, supposedly (though I personally think that FOWL used Scrooge’s DNA with female DNA to make Webby, making her Scrooge’s biological child), and therefore May and June are biologically identical to Scrooge and Webby. Ergo, Webby, May, and June are all the same. Technically, they’re Scrooge’s siblings, but due to their age, they’re instead treated as daughters. If we go by my theory that Scrooge’s DNA was mixed with female DNA to make Webby (and how else did the clone end up being female? Why would FOWL specifically change so much DNA for a project that was to remain secret?), then Webby is biologically Scrooge’s daughter. As her twins, May and June would also be Scrooge’s biological daughters.
It was a shock but sweet surprise especially for this version of the character. Even if the family tree changes, I think they'll still treat her as a kid, a sister, as a family member to love and care for.

Scrooge had been having adventures for almost 100 years. Several decades of which Bradford had been his accoutant. It would be harder to believe that Scrooge was never injured or lost a few feathers at anypoint in that time frame.

I miss this show. I'm still trying to wrap my mind about the first cousin once removed thing, but other than that, I think I understand the concept of webby being the daughter of Scrooge and if things will change in the family and also the rest of everything, too.
My OC the Smiler would also hint at this twist. As the brother of Mr Buzzard, a demon vessel and a vigilante, he would try killing people who either have relation to Brad, are in some way evil or want to kill the demon. But he goes against the code by trying to kill Webby as soon as he sees her, because she was created by FOWL.

Watched the first episode of Season 1 after watching the series finale - and noticed something REALLY COOL...A few moments after Webby is introduced, she strikes a pose in front of a statue of Scrooge. (She’s facing the boys, and the statue is at her back.) When she lands in her pose, they’re both standing the exact same way - and their expressions match, too! :) A clue to the finale from the very beginning??? :) Also, in the finale, May asks Webby if she’s ever eaten a hamburger - which is something Webby mentions wanting to do in the first episode. :) Cute callback! ;)
Think about it... Since Black Heron MADE her.. Webby, May, and June. Are probably made using DNA from Scrooge, but also... Agent 22. Think about it what would be the perfect revenge against her two greatest enemies? Making a child from the two. Webby has shown being like Mrs. Beakley, both by learning from her... But also doing similar things, like drinking the bounce potion. Which would further make the "lifevest" scene in the finale fit more.
During the whole show I felt as if Scrooge considered his nephew and niece as his "children" so I feel... Torn about this plot twist. I think I'm the only one 😂😭
Yeah, this "reveal" was disrespectful to the actual canon character and elevated a newbie that did nothing to deserve it except being the director's (Frank's) favorite character. 🙄

Years late but I also didn’t like the finale or clone if Scrooge and dna daughter plot, Webby and the others are already a found family plus I wished Huey or the focus was on the triplets father or even Lena a bit more, I would love a conclusion or a plot of Lena finding about Poe and help find him , reversing the spell and a father figure to her , besides that I hope that ducktales comes back again in the future, I love ducktales mystery, family and adventure a lot and how unique it is
If I had a nickel for every time David Tennant played a character who had a daughter made from his DNA, I would have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
Webby’s their cousin. I grew up with “second cousins/first cousins once removed” or whatever and yeah, we just go with cousin, and the relation’s similar-they’re my great aunt’s kids, who I also just called Aunt. And I do technically have a cousin who’s my grampa’s age but. I just call her my “Aunt” and call it a day. Which, the relationship that Webby and the Triplets settled into has long since been kinda “Pseudo Cousin” before, well, actual cousin. -and heyyy I was right about Webby being a Fowl-created Clone, just wrong about her being Agent 22’s clone- Honestly, I’m more curious about who’s taking in May and June-do they get to live with Scrooge, Beakley, and Webby as Webby’s own twins? Is Daisy adopting them as her “nieces”? Are Violet’s dads taking them in like they did with Lena? Anyway, isn’t terribly important-the group said May and June are staying/are family, so I can just headcanon on my own time
I think it is more similar to the character of Gen in the "Firestorm" comics for DC. She began as a clone of a rich old male industrialist who was modified as part of her creation to be teenage and female. It was part of a plan involving the new Firestorm, but she turned against her creator.
I've always noticed that Scrooge gave Webby extra affection. Whether that was ruffling her hair or letting her give him a bear hug. I always assumed it was because he wanted to include her in everything like he did with the boys and didn't want her to feel left out from the group. Now after the reveal...ow my heart. He was looking out and caring for his daughter before he even knew he had one.
Odd twist because originally “April, May and June” was Daisy’s nieces years ago on a comic page. They did that try to mimic the success of “Huey, Dewey and Luey”
@@zoroark2002 Yeah maybe. Although I prefer them in a flashback because they're supposed to be dead and their death early in Donald's life is supposed to be part of why he had a hard life.
Interestingly the Original Webby from the 80's Ducktales had her design based off of Daisy Duck's triplet nieces April, May & June, but in the finale Ducktales Reboot she actually became a reimagining of April, guess it made sense seeing as how there has pretty much been a ship between Dewey & Webby since this show began, though having it be revealed that they are already biologically related makes their relationship more confusing.
with may and june they were made with the stone of whats was (or whatever it was called) webby was cloned with more science. i think the magic of the stone of what was and how they were aged up with the fountain with the little of the dna used and the magic to make them was not enough of a match for the papyrus of binding to come to them. this show has made the point you can pick your family and webby did see them as sisters
in Native American culture (which I am) second cousins are cousins And the parents first cousins are the kids’ aunt/uncle since they’re more like siblings to her (My mom calls her first cousins her niece and nephew since they’re so much younger than she is) So while Webby is a cousin/aunt technically She’s more like a sister to the triplets (even Frank Angones calling her “the fourth triplet”) and a niece to Donald and Della
I think Webby should just be considered the boys' honorary sister despite her technically being the boys' first cousin once removed ( and it says both on the Ducktales wiki) because even though she's still Scrooge's daughter, he has lived for a long time because he was both frozen in ice two times and stuck in timeless demon dimension. I also can't believe this reveal technically ruined the Dewey and Webby ship for me.
The only place the ship was going to happen was your mind because they said they weren't going to give her a love interest and also they are kids(Phinabella didn't happen until they were headed to collage) Not every charaacter needs to end up in a romantic relationship or have a love interest.
@@cristyflaherty4902 yeah i know, but i mean i thought they looked cute thogether and said to myself... Maybe in the future ( at least for me) i saw their friendship as a future seed for something in the future, but okay i guess all those drawings now are kind of weird

I thought of it in late in season one. But ppl said I was crazy or it’s too out there.
It IS an asspull and it's not canon.
@@ThePaganSun It's canon to 1 au. It's not canon to most AUs. Please get your clarification of multiverse fictions right.
@@Imperials3nate DT2017 is not a real AU.
@@Imperials3nate It is NOT "canon." An AU is not canon. Please learn the difference yourself!
I super agree with "Webby didn't need to be Scrooge's daughter to be considered a McDuck."
However, I think that's one of the reasons why I love this twist so much.
Ducktales has always been about both Foundfam and Bloodfam You Choose ...and Webby’s the cherry on top ‘cause she’s looong been accepted as Family
Honestly, this twist caught me by surprise.
Scrooge: Dad?
Webby: Dad.
:3333333
Webby is NOT Scrooge's "true heir." She's an elevated extra. This entire series was a like fan fiction gone bad. 😑

Imma say something stupid but wouldn’t that make them her kids and him they grandpa?

Also, in the finale, May asks Webby if she’s ever eaten a hamburger - which is something Webby mentions wanting to do in the first episode. :) Cute callback! ;)
The twist is lame.
Remember when Scrooge shouted at Webby telling her she is "not family" hits in a different way now.

-and heyyy I was right about Webby being a Fowl-created Clone, just wrong about her being Agent 22’s clone-
Honestly, I’m more curious about who’s taking in May and June-do they get to live with Scrooge, Beakley, and Webby as Webby’s own twins? Is Daisy adopting them as her “nieces”? Are Violet’s dads taking them in like they did with Lena? Anyway, isn’t terribly important-the group said May and June are staying/are family, so I can just headcanon on my own time
