His touch on piano is gentle but sparkling brilliantly
Wonderful, although it is verrrry fast, the musical intention and execution is so convincing. Also what a fabulous instrument. That Steinway must have been very well regulated and have a very light touch to achieve what he does here, and a wonderful warm sound, perfect for this repertoire.

First time I ever heard the subjects and motifs of the first movement evoking an actual hunt. It had an impish, playful quality that made me think of foxes dashing around, and call and response patterns suggesting actual fleeing and chasing.
I would think that if any part of this sonata were to recall a hunt it would be the last movement. A 6/8 time signature is traditionally used by composers for this purpose.
I to just love and adore this man's skills. His fingers or like their own little entities that just go crazy all over the keyboard and make beautiful music.

Sie haben Recht: Eine manieristische und extreme Interpretation. Ich bin nicht der Meinung, dass alles erlaubt sein sollte. Ein Interpret hat den Komponisten und die Partitur ernst zu nehmen. Alles andere ist wenig seriös. Für mich sind die Aufnahmen mit Michael Korstick gelungene Umsetzungen des Komponistenwillens,

Don't agree. Levit musically makes it work at this speed. Really quite expressive. I often enjoy hearing this entire sonata played by other artists at a slower tempo. But Levit is convincing to my ears here and it is refreshing to hear this more speedy interpretation,.

Terrible. Too quiet, too fast, too Mozart or Bach like. Notes can't say what they have to say. Barenboim is 10 times better, or even Ashkenazy.
