- A complete list of the required times needed to earn a shiny gold medal in DKCTF.
Corrections: I've discovered a couple errors in the video.(3-K & 5-Boss) The times listed below are fixed and correct. If I find any more errors, I'll update this notice.

As far as I can tell, nothing else like this exists on the internet. When I decided to go after every shiny gold medal in the game, I searched for a guide that had the minimum time requirements but came up empty handed. So, I decided to make that guide myself and here it is! I had to work out a consistent strategy for each level, then finish 1 second slower each time until I found the cutoff point for shiny. The bosses were really annoying to time because of their attack cycles. I had to find ways to waste just a little bit of time here and there. Frederick's battle might actually allow an extra second or two as I had a real hard time getting the exact times I wanted to check. What really matters though is that you don't miss any penguin throws and hit all 3 attacks each cycle; you do that, and I guarantee your time will be under 2:50. Thanks for the list, just managed to get all shiny gold medals. Probably would've gone insane without this list.

Thanks so much for the work you put into getting this info! Sounds like it was no easy task. Like you said, other than this I wasn't able to find any reliable and comprehensive sources for knowing the required times. I got all the shiny golds in DKCR many years ago, and finally just got around to starting this game on the Switch. I started trying to catalog them myself as I went through world 1 - and my findings matched yours for the ones I was able to pin down. But now that I've found this, it'll be a lot smoother for me to get the medals - I'll know exactly how much I'll have to trim down, and will know when I don't necessarily need to obsess about being perfect in any given level/spot.

I have 70 shiny gold medals in DKCR. I was unable to do 1-B, but once I'm done with TF, I'll come back to it for sure.
Hey, the time for 5-Boss is off by a little, as I got 3:16.67 and still got shiny.
Hey, good job! I have 35 shiny golds without damage already, I completed 6-2, 6-6 and 6-A today, but this will help me get the last 28. I wonder why nobody did this list before, very strange.
Also, I'm a little jealous watching this. Funky's movement is completely overpowered in most of these levels, and I have the wiiu version.

Super nice video, does someone know if shiny gold medals where a thing in the wii u original too?
They were in the WiiU version as well, and the times were the same. Many levels are much more difficult without Funky.

5-K Platform Problems; appropriate title.
Really? I thought that one was pretty easy for the shiny gold. Took me maybe an hour to get it only.

@@901Rayman Everyone finds different things difficult, I suppose. Personnally, I think that 1-K, for example, was ten times harder, but really none of the k-temples are that bad.
The shiny times are the same with Funky ?
Yes, the times are the same regardless of what Kong you play as. Funky can obliterate a lot of stage times because of his advanced movement abilities. He struggles in water though. I tried to play all levels as Funky, but there were a couple in world 4 that I just couldn't complete with him.
@@c00rey74 Most of the water stages were done with Diddy's jetpack in mind, so I guess that's why.
Is 4-1 impossible on funky kong?
It would seem so. He just isn't very fast in the water.
