  • Upgrade Your Cargo Trailer with This Automated Lighting Hack! This week we are installing automated lighting inside the cabinets of the enclosed cargo trailer. How nice is it to be able to open a door or cabinet and be able to see inside because a light turned on automatically? I'm going to show you exactly how to do this simple and inexpensive DIY upgrade.

    Hey Brandon, another great video.
    You really need to stop second guessing yourself. When you go to do something it's obvious that you put a lot of thought into everything you do and it shows in your work. All the items you purchased from Amazon worked great so no need to say you should have done something or purchased something different. You're a master of your craft, own it.
    Outstanding!

    Bro. Brandon,
    I love the content of your posts.
    I primarily sign on to hear your take on welding, but I really love the fact that the "rounding" projects truly bring together your vision to fulfillment.
    You are a clever and gifted man of God. Don't let anyone or any negative commentary dissuade you from your mission or vision.
    Your twin brother of a different mother, Tim from the lower deserts of Arizona.
    PS. Your vision was well thought out; may I suggest that Harbor Freight have grommet kits. Sleeved wires wear through by the constant friction of our rough desert roads. A rubber grommet will ensure longer wire/sleeve life during travel and make the initial harness pull so much smoother. Just saying.

    • @BrandonLund
      @BrandonLund  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much Tim 🙏 the grommets will be going in for sure. Have a great weekend buddy!

    Thanks for the 'Tapping' tip on the screws. I've seen YT vids with guys just cranking on the tap and NEVER backing it up to break off the cut thread chips.
    Also you did a nice change moving the switch from the outside of the door to the hinge side. Much better.

    Great Job Brandon-
    For a grommet - you can use a piece of rubber fuel line to insulate the wires from the sharp Aluminium when you drill the holes and the rubber fuel line can be held in place with a dap of super glue.

    Yes sir, the more lights the better. I would have to put a light on every door especially the main entrance. I have a cheap solar powered motion light on the outside of my storage shed that is invaluable, and 2 - 2’ squared very bright led lights on the ceiling. When i go in there, i can see!

    What a neat feature to have with your lighting. If you need to use any butt splice connectors on the exterior, they have a marine type of heat shrink that has a compound inside which melts and seals the ends off creating a water/air tight seal. This keeps the elements from causing corrosion. You can get a kit at Harbor Freight for 5 or 10 bucks. Keep up the great work!!!

  • @Farm_fab
    @Farm_fab ปีที่แล้ว

    Brandon, inside of the switch assembly is what's called a reed switch. It's a glass tube with contacts inside that are steel, and hermetically sealled and it is activated by the magnet. Your switches are both normally open and normally closed with a common screw on it. These, as you are probably aware, are typically made for burglar alarm systems. These switches are very light duty, meaning that for other types of applications, it will require a relay to operate higher current applications.
    There are switches that can be inserted into a hole and are round, and might have been a better idea. The magnet also goes into a corresponding hole as well.

    You should only switch the power wires (ac or dc), not the neutral or ground. By switching the neutral or ground, the electrical device is always powered and has more potential for shorts or shocks.

    Do I have to replace the mig liner if I go up in wire size? I bought my first mig welder. The MIG welder is currently set up for solid wire 0.6. I want to do flux core .9. I have a 0.9 tip and the .9 feeder wheel. Do I need to increase the size of the MIG wire liner, or does the mig liner that came pre-installed with six solid wire good for the 0.9 flux core? What liner should I use for a flux/core .9 (.035) wire?

    • @BrandonLund

      I am from Maine. On February 3, a freight train derailed in East Palestine, Ohio. The 150-car train operated by Norfolk Southern was carrying 20 cars of highly flammable toxic chemicals, and ignited a fire a quarter-mile long that burned for days. On February 6, officials with the Ohio National Guard and the U.S. Department of Defense, worried about the tankers that hadn’t already combusted, instituted a “vent and burn” operation, a controlled ignition they claimed would allow the chemicals to safely dissipate. About 1,500 people had already been evacuated after the derailment, and hundreds more followed suit just before a fireball erupted, sending a black plume of smoke over the region. Many evacuees returned home a few days later, and reports soon began circulating about people experiencing a burning sensation in their throat and eyes, layers of soot, and creeks filled with dead fish. On Monday, ten days after the derailment, Transportation secretary Pete Buttigieg made a statement after multiple members of Congress demanded a stronger federal response - even a congressional inquiry. He expressed concern about the incident’s impact on families and said the National Transportation Safety Board has been investigating the cause of the catastrophe. A lot of information, changing information, and misinformation is flying around in the meantime.
