New Install! Nice! I would run the NEW wires inside the hitch frame and protect them!. But that's just me. Thanks!
Great video. I didn't notice the socket set on your list seems like a handy little set
Caution on the smart Jack. Many have gotten wet and put the Jack down unintentionally while driving or parked. They make a cover to help keep it dry.
Good job on the endurance tires. Got a set of 4 for our boat right when they came out. Higher speed rating on them is a huge plus as well.
Big Truck Big RV, I've enjoyed your videos in the past. This one was great as well, thank you.
I look forward to seeing more of these videos, I feel like I have missed other upgrade videos.
I've done a few :)
I have return hitch height on my 5th wheel and I love it now I’m gonna have it on my job trailer! Thanks for making me send some money:-)
Great video!! I would love a power jack but, I wouldn't be able to open my tailgate as I do now. 👍
I'm running three sets of Goodyear Endurance tires on my collection of trailers.
First off you are 100% right on E-Trailer. I buy all my things I need for trailers and tow vehicles from them. No I'm not getting paid to say this and no they don't give me free stuff for talking well about them. They're just a really good company and if there's something you need to see on how to install it they normally have a video for that product.
What is the purpose of changing no shackles out? I've never seen that and never knew anyone who has done that theirselves. What does it do better than the factory stuff?
Also it wasn't all that easy for me to put that electric jack on the front of my trailer. I went into my garage and retrieved my large floor jack and as I was jacking it up I could not get it up high enough. That's when my friends had stopped by to see what I was up to and one of them asked me why don't you hook that up to one of your pickup trucks or SUV? I asked why would I do that he said because that will get the trailer hitch Jack up high enough and you don't need to worry about blocking the trailer up while you are unbolting the jack. it took about 30 seconds for the hamster to catch up on the wheel for me to realize what he was saying. Once I understood it was less than 5 minutes changing it out. Of course before starting I did not read the instructions I'm a man we don't need them. When I did have to look in the manual to find out what amp draw I was dealing with so I knew the proper circuit breaker to get is when I saw at the very beginning of the instructions about how attaching your trailer to the tow vehicle to make it easier to replace the jack.
I felt stupid afterwards but we all had a good laugh.
Also your wheels do look a lot better especially seeing that you have a black trailer.
How we know you really walked around to other side??🤯 LOL Great upgrades....
@ 3:50 I see a wheel lock/boot. Which one is that and do yu recommend. I am getting ready to purchase an enclosed car hauler and need that security. Thanks
Dexter E-Z Flex, awesome!! I have a Jayco Whitehawk with the spread axles and would love to do the same or the Equa-flex system. Talked to a guy at etrailer.com with the measurements and sent him a picture too a few weeks ago, no response. Oh well I guess. Love your videos, great job!!!
Interesting... I'll pass that info to my contact at eTrailer.
Nice upgrades JD. Thanks for sharing.
Looks like the jack grounds through the frame? I'd upgrade the ground from frame to battery unless it's already big enough, but it may be sized for just running lights
Might just be me but I’m not a fan of that big knob of a head on the smart jack... other than that awesome stuff!
Those are some great up grades
Etrailer always hooked me up,good video!!
could you install the lippert jack with hooking it up to the seven way plug for power if you did not have a separate battery on the tongue ? thx
Wow, amazing. Love ya videos. Lots of info. Thanks.
Killer Rims!
Thanks! I think they go well with the trailer
Will you also put Centramatic wheel balancers on your trailer? I have them on my RV and I know you love them on your F450. Good luck with that awesome trailer! Keep up the great work!
I think you should do the best brand for gooseneck trailers
Sure. Mainly depends on what it's being used for
Big Truck Big RV like hauling. Cars or construction equipment that it I would love to know which one is the best for those two
Excellently done!!
Should convert your trailer into a Camper for fun because it would be cool and better built than any other travel trailer on the market if done correctly.
I would agree, but believe it or not, Cargo trailers are constructed worse than the average travel trailer.
@@BTBRVReviews Hmm, a lot of people seem to think differently.
Man thats a nice setup
Hi, nice trailer, why did you not purchase a trailer with aluminum frame? I am looking for a trailer but want aluminum so that I won’t have to paint the frame as it rusts. Thanks.
If your trailer jack remembers it's last position will it go to that position if you unhook at another location? What if the ground is not level? I see issues with the smart jack maybe I don't understand it completely.
Do you have a link for the box you put the circuit breaker in on the tongue?
Can you make more videos of these kinds of trailers? Upgrades
Nicely done.
Can do you do review having spread axles on a enclosed trailers
Are these dexter equalizers the best for a cargo trailer? I have a 24 foot cargo trailer and was thinking about the CRE from morryde but they look like they will hang really low. My axles are 5200 pounds and 35 inch wheel base
Great Video BTBRV! I can't really tell if you have locks on your new set of wheels. My favorite locks to use are McGard's
Yes sir, there was just 1, now ever lug is a security lug
Do you recommend any suspension upgrades for a single axle enclosed trailer? It current has a leaf spring setup and I'm wondering if there is a way to smooth out the ride a little bit.
Perhaps a Timbren Axleless system
Where do I get the tongue jack breaker and box?
Great video. JD. Have you reviewed the B&W 3 ball hitch? How do you like it? Wheels look great. Never even heard of the smart hitch
Nice!! Should be standard equipment. :-)
I love the breaker setup. I want to put in a disconnect on my Puma travel trailer, but it has an enclosed underbelly and don't want to start digging around inside.
Can you show how you did that and include parts listings? In particular the waterproof box is brilliant!
Nice work! How hard would it be to relocate the battery inside of the trailer? It kind of sticks out sitting at an angle on the A-frame...
Rims really dressed the trailer up. I can’t stand the same steel rims that my aluminum trailer came with. Really nice choice with the equalizer and obviously ipgrading the equalizer is never a bad thing!
Actually come to think of it my trailer is pretty close to the same size as yours.
If you can answer, why didn’t you choose an aluminum enclosed trailer when you’ve mentioned numerous times your concerns with surface rust from that Texas air you have down there? I know you had the bottom of this painted but arguably that wouldn’t need to be done with an aluminum unit (yes I know aluminum will corrode over time but given where you are it would still be substantially slower than even treated steel).
I think a cool video you could have done before installing stick on reflectors would have been installing LED reflectors and everything that entails. Even I have added some additional led reflector lights to my trailer (mostly incase I’m on the side of the road). I want to develop some sort of switch to turn them on with the auxiliary battery in the event of a total power loss with the truck or just simply parked in a dark place.
I've never felt the cost difference between the two justified the purchase so long as the trailer isn't submerged in saltwater or regularly taken to the beach. I clean my equipment off pretty regularly, so my trailer will likely last quite some time.
Like what you did thanks for thd info...👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
LOVE this video!
Big Truck Big RV, I've enjoyed your videos in the past. This one was great as well, thank you.
Do you have a video review of enclosed trailers? I've read many blogs online that extol Brand names like Haulmark, Pace, Interstate, Wells Cargo, etc, and many negative reviews about "no-name brands manufactured in Georgia." What's your guidance?
I think a further upgrade would be heavier ply tires and having a TPMS on all of them with a receiver in the cab.
The tires were upgraded from Chinese brand D rated tires to Goodyear Endurance E rated tires. Also, TireMinder will be added
Wow a great video!
Hey! How do you like that ez Flex? Can you tell a difference in ride?
Wha'?! Big, you actually do some work?! I think can do without that jack thingamajig. Keep me arms strong. "Arms that can only, lift a spoon...everybody's going to the moon." Old Big's a brain surgeon, his wife a dentist.
What exactly do you plan on doing with this trailer?
Incremental future content for JD's channel I presume.
Why isnt your hitch on the second hole in the reciver?
That jack looks pretty slick unfortunately I was told Bulldog was best on the market we shall see. Also my 2015 Travel trailer has the Rainier ST tires. Are they any good or are they just a fancy version of the China bombs?
Bulldog makes great Jack's also
I was expecting you to do Sailun tires, has your opinion/view of them changed?
At 6:58 was the top left side of the jack cover housing cracked or was that something laying there?
I'll have to check again. Didn't notice it while I was out there.
Why no Sailun 637 tires for this trailer? Tell Etrailer to stock this brand of tire.
They have a similar brand, however, I agree they should carry them. I didn't get them on this trailer because I wanted to stick with a 15" wheel/tire so I could use the OEM wheels/tires as spares.
do you have to charge the battery on the trailer.
Charges via solar panel as well as when connected to the truck
👋🏻FLORIDA☀️🌴🇺🇸
Will you be adding any kind of trailer tire pressure monitoring kit? Nice upgrades 👍
That is a good idea
How about some BTBRV graphics for that trailer
Mayyyyybeeeee :)
Shock absorbers coming soon?
Your from Corpus Christi Texas?
Why this and not the cre3000? Considering changing to the cre3000 from this setup on my 5th wheel
Not a bad system either. The EZ Flex is a more robust system in my opinion. The CRE3000 will likely be a bit smoother though
Ok this is an off the wall question but what is the difference between an f250 king ranch 4wd also diesel and f350 single rear wheel of the same.
F350 has a higher payload and towing due to rear suspension enhancements and different gear ratio
So what’s the alternative if the jack malfunctions and won’t operate? Does it have a hand crank option?
It does. The plug on top comes off and can be hand cranked
What was the install time for the suspension upgrade?
Each side is between 45 minutes and 1 hour depending on if your tools are out or not.
What’s the equalizer thing for
Did you have to install the breaker box? I've never noticed one on any trailer I've looked at. The electric jack looks like a good idea for my car trailer. It sure beaks hand cranking in the pouring rain. 🤔
Probably not, but it actually costs less than a kill switch/battery disconnect and serves two purposes.
@@BTBRVReviews I can find the Jack and suspension parts for my trailer but I really like breaker box on frame. Any information on brand ? No luck on search locating one. Great videos, thanks.
can you still lower your tailgate with that new jack?
Nope. Unless you relocate the jack mounting location.
@@BTBRVReviews Damn! Thanks for the response.
Wow
Is there a way to operate the Jack manually if the battery goes dead?
Yes sir. The little on top removes and there is a crank attachment
@@BTBRVReviews Thanks, probably something you might want to put out to everybody. I asked, because with my luck the battery would be dead when I go out to use it!! :-)
What socket set kit?
what will you be doing with the ranch hand bumpers?
Selling them
Is there a manual override on the jack?
Yep
At 8:40 min. Did you have a crack in the center of the rear tire?
Did you balance those new tires??
Yes sir
What did you get the socket set from
Thomas Lemacher from Amazon. I got the same set for like 30 bucks. He use to have a link in the description, but now it’s all etrailer links.
Electric jack is a waste of money. To each his own but I'll stick with the crank jack.
Lol, wonder if he knows there is still a block of wood between the foot and the ground......
Nice video, but DIDN’T enjoy it.... a stand for the camera would recorded the process and u could at least forwarded it to make it faster vid, anyways love your content
Truck use to be beautiful
Tripod and time lapse my dude.
How does the trailer batt recharge ..
