I call that a street food type of dish, I just bought mine near my place and only took 10 minutes or less to get it done. One he made is more of a luxurious version and as he said, his grandma would probably nag at him like how expensive the produce he used hahahha

Malaysian dish NOICE...just so y'all know, we call this hokkien Mee in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. His recipe is a richer, but easier to prepare at home version of what we get in restaurants here. The dish doesn't usually contain so much expensive seafood, usually it just has shrimp, chicken, a sizeable amount of lard, crispy pork crackling bits and it's normally cooked in woks over those Chinese restaurant jet-engine stoves that gives the dish a unique smokey-seared flavour referred to, over here as "wok hei". Cool stuff!!
You are totally right that this is not how you cook Hokkien Mee, the utmost important thing is a super hot wok and the flash stir fry technique. The best KL hokkien Mee are cook by charcoal too.

That sucks, in Brooklyn Chinatown fish markets you can find King crab and lobster(alive) for about $9.99/lb and $7.99/lb when they are on sale.... quite the big price difference.
The downside is that you do need to buy a whole king crab including the body... which comes out to be around 100 bucks per crab, but it's huge and I normally share it with my family.
