  • Easy Blender Fire! How to Make Fire in Blender Tutorial Part 1: Metaballs, Particles, and Eevee
    In Part 1 of this Blender fire simulation tutorial, I’ll show you how to make cartoon fire in Blender using metaballs, a particles system, and Eevee.
    The cartoon fire Blender allows you create is easy and simple, and, since it is a procedural fire, this process is customizable to your needs.

    I was wondering if I can add all that for my character, for example using this cartoon fire as an head adding it to a body? Is it possible? Thank you for the tutorial 😊✨

      You should be able to parent the fire to another object. I think I parented it to a stick to create a torch, and it seemed to work fine. Hopefully, you can achieve the look you are going for. Thanks for watching!

    Is there anyway to shape the fire into different unnatural shapes like how you see people bend fire in avatar the last airbender?

    • @davidpikedesigns
      @davidpikedesigns  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've never tried, so I would have to look into it. I think the metaball process is fairly flexible. I wonder if it can be shaped using other meshes to control it.

  • @DarkXues

    Is there a way to have it emit like a smoke wave?

    • @davidpikedesigns
      @davidpikedesigns  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I wish I could say yes or no, but I've never tried it. I think the particle system in Blender is extremely flexible, but I would have to look into it. There are lots of tutorials online, such as this one (th-cam.com/video/0y74QdzlQQM/w-d-xo.html), but it might be a challenge to match the smoke style with the fire style.

    Hi man! very helpful and nice explained video! Do you know how can i smooth the faces/mesh of the particles coming out of the fire?

    • @davidpikedesigns
      @davidpikedesigns  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad you liked it! To smooth out the particles, left-click on the Fire object in the Outliner panel and left-click the Metaball properties tab in the Properties panel. Lower the value in the Resolution Viewport and Render fields. In the video, the final value I used was 0.1 m, but you can lower it further if needed. You only need to change these values for one metaball object because those values will be applied to the second metaball. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have additional questions. Thanks!

      @@davidpikedesigns Hej man!, sorry to bother again, I'm trying to slow down the fire a bit with the emiter settings but i got no luck, do you know how can i make it slower? Really appreciate your help

    • @davidpikedesigns
      @davidpikedesigns  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@YohanGallego I checked the settings, and I don't think there is a straightforward answer. I found combining a few settings worked. In the Emitter settings, I reduced the number of particles being emitted to 250 (Emitter>Emission>Number). I then changed Damp to 0.500 (Emitter>Physics>Forces>Damp). I then had to extend the lifetime of the particles, so I changed it to 150.000 (Emitter>Emission>Lifetime). The higher this number, the higher the fire will be. Because it was slower, I had to extend the timeline to 750 so I could see what it looked like, which meant I needed to change the end of the particles to 850.00 so they wouldn't die out before the timeline ended (Emitter>Emission>End). With it now moving slower, the bottom looked very jittery, so I selected the Fire object and changed its Influence Threshold to 0.700 (Metaball>Influence Threshold). You'll probably also need to increase the resolution of the metaballs since they will be easier to see when moving slower. Hope that helps! Thanks!

    if you set your frames to start at 0 and end at 250 it will loop and will save you rendering 50 unused frames of animation

    • @davidpikedesigns
      @davidpikedesigns  ปีที่แล้ว

      I would have to look back at the file, but I think I'm only rendering 0 to 250. I just changed the particle system to start at -50 and end at 300 so it would be already be emitting at 0 and continue emitting past 250; although, you probably could use less than 50 in both of those values. To your point, you could probably make it loop if you just animated 0 to 50 or maybe even less. Thanks for watching!
