If I am not wrong (I am Tunisian but not from Tunis), the army vehicles' presence at the beginning of the video is for the embassy of France (and consulate too) in large buildings just in front of the cathedral.
@@أيوب-ض1ث yes the ministry building in the same Avenue but on the other side (next to the clock monument), the army presence in the video is in front of the cathedral.
Good job 👏 Can I just say your videos are massively under viewed which is odd because the editing quality and the way the content is put together and the final result is out standing if you ask me I’m half British half Algerian so I’m happy to see a genuine tourist travel and visit these parts of North Africa and enjoy it good luck hopefully your videos get the views they deserve I will support this channel with likes and views when I see your content and I’ll subscribe
Thank you! I really appreciate the feedback, kind words and support. I hope to grow this channel a lot further to support making these videos and keep doing what I love ❤️
Hi Chris. Wife and I back in Morocco now after a fantastic 3wk stay in Tunisia. Used the small Taxis for local and Louage for going between towns. All great. Hope to return and venture more South sometime. People great, helpful and friendly. Was a shortage of milk and sugar in shops and water often turned off at night to concerve. Only stayed in one hotel in Hergla when we arrived for a few days, airb&b in all the other places. These were clean, well equiped and private terrace in each. Between £15/20 a night. Am sure you will share some great places and look forward to seeing them. Cheers
You must have got around a fair bit in a 3 week stay. I only had a couple of weeks myself but made it across to Tozeur and the desert. Zaafrane and Matmata were as far south as I could get in the time I had. Still, hopefully I can share some places you didn't make it to. Thanks for watching!
Another fascinating video of your travel to Tunisia showing not only the smart tourist area but the not so smart area that most people don’t visit. However an area that should be shown even if you want to avoid it! Many thanks Chris.
Thank you for featuring the famous 'Hôtel du Lac' with its brutalist architecture and highlighting this symbol of Tunis! I wish we can save iconic building!
GOTTA SAY CHRIS THE QUALITY OF YOUR VIDEOS AND NARRATATION HAS IMPROVED SO MUCH IN THE LAST 12 MONTHS THE VIDEOS ARE A PLEASURE TO WATCH AND VERY INTRESTING AND ALWAYS WATCH TO THE END , WOULD BE HANDY IF YOU COULD THROW A FEW PRICES IN SO WE KNOW WHAT EVERYDAY STUFF COSTS , FOOD ,TRANSPORT ETC GREAT VIDEO. 🏴🏴🏴❤️🙏🙏
Thank you 🙏🏽 I’m always learning as I go, I look back on the first videos now and think they’re terrible! We all have to start somewhere though. I always forget to note prices when I’m traveling and filming, but maybe next time. Thanks for your support and feedback 🙏🏽♥️
Hey Chris! This was a very nice video👍🏼 i also wanted to tell u that nowadays its allowed for non-muslims to enter the masjid zitouna. Back in the days it wasnt
You should also try to stroll through the streets and narrow alleys of the European city, the old European neighborhoods, where you can see many old French, Italian, Sicilian, Maltese, Tunisian-Maltese buildings, etc. Discover plenty of gems and beautiful things by getting lost in the European quarter of Tunis.
I never even knew there were neighborhoods like that there. Never enough time to see it all, and I wanted to make at around a few different cities and places
You look happier here than in Morocco... Which Country do you prefer between those two? I have been many times in Morocco and one of my next trips will be Tunisia. Food and decorations there must be awesome, and maybe the food can be even better than in Morocco. And the sea is certainly way better (but I love Morocco anyways). Hope you have been in Tozeur and other places in Tunisia so I can watch the videos 😁
I couldn't pick one over the other. I've spent a lot more time in Morocco and Tunisia was a brand new adventure so that alone could explain looking happier 🙂 I did go to Tozeur and around that area, so the video will be coming. But next up, Sousse and the first journey south. Hope you'll join me!
@@ChrisKermisniiice! Sousse is also interesting! Or, better saïd, all the Country is! Sure I will join!! Ok so maybe it's the new destination that made you more smiley - haha yes, it often happens 😊
I was in Tunis last week and walked along many of the streets in your vlog. The domed building you mentioned is actually a mausoleum ! Even in January, the Medina was packed and I didn't enjoy the experience. Much preferred the calm of Sidi Bou Said ❤ Look forward to seeing more from Tunisia 🇹🇳
@@JustTunes31 That's great! I found that the Medina was just crazy busy in the central part near Victory Square and the more tourist focussed streets, but could be really quiet away from that. Still, not my favourite but a great start. I certainly preferred some of the other places I visited, and they'll be coming.
8:28 Local people shop everywhere.. just it depends on areas, some places can be more or less clean .. I live in Paris .. and you can have that contrast also in Paris .. But that massive dirtiness sometimes in Tunisia is something just new .. It was never the case before 2011
I did go to Sidi Bousaid, along with Carthage. I wasn’t really happy with the footage I captured though so that video probably won’t see the light of day.
Hard to say for someone else, personally my order of the two was Morocco -> Tunisia in terms of first visits. Morocco is more touristed so has more infrastructure for tourists if that’s a consideration. Both are fairly easy and great to travel though!

I agree, Chris maybe reach out to some of the other travel TH-camrs for a colab and get some exposure that way?
For sure when I get the chance, haven’t had too much luck on that front yet

Good to visit in December, though it can be a little wet and miserable. But still plenty of fine days.

The Video in the summer why you uploaded now 😂
What’s the name of the hotel you stayed in that overlooks victory square?
Hotel Royal Victoria. You’ll find more comfort in a modern chain hotel away from the center but it’s worth a night or two here for the experience

Non Muslims are not allowed to go in the mosque in times of prayer once the prayer is finished you can get in and make sure you respect the dresscode
I wish I had have known that! There was a sign outside that seemed to say non-Muslims could not enter
@@ChrisKermis that sign of a hijabi woman actually explains the dresscode women should respect
@user-bq6zj2hh4c Absolutely makes sense but I misunderstood
Which country do you recomend for a person visiting north Africa for the first time, morocco or tunisia?
