I am soo pleased you have finished your first socks. I have become obsessed with knitting since doing your beanie along and I am now on my 4th beanie. I find knitting is good when you are tired. I get better with each one. my next challenge will be socks. I am collecting some different needles to try and some inexpensive yarn to practise on. I live in New Zealand and hand dyed yarn is expensive here. thank you for making these wonderful videos
Collecting yarn and needles is its own hobby. I’m so happy to hear you have knit 4 beanies so far.
Yay for your first pair of socks!! The Heel Toe Do si Do pattern is super fun and is easier than you think once you sit down to knit it. It’s easy to memorize the repeats. Stitch markers will be your friend!! Can’t wait to see your sock adventures. Once you master them it’s so nice to always have a pair going!!
Yes! Thank you!
Congrats on finishing your first sock! I knit my first pair on a size 2 or 3. 😂. Now I use a 1.5/and they fit perfectly for my size 10 foot! Kay’s patterns are awesome. The one you bought is so fun to knit! Enjoy💜
What a fabulous yarn tube! I love all the yarn goodness. Congratulations on your socks! They are beautiful!
Thank you so much!
I love your knitting adventures.
Great work Kari. Perseverance is the key to success. 😊
So true!
Love watching your videos for both stitching and knitting. Can not wait for my April keeper. Have a great week.
Thank you! You too!
Congrats on making your first pair of socks! I wanted to learn so badly, took a class, and just could not get the hang of it!😢 I had all intentions of doing your beanie hat, but I have been dealing with a lot of neck & back pain, so my concentration level is very low right now! I am lucky that I can still manage to squeak out my cross stitch projects. Can’t wait to see what will be next on the “Kari Express”!😉
Not fair, I really really want your yarn bags
Hoping she will share out to make them
GO KERI!! Make those socks! You know what, I can't tell that there is any difference in those heels or toes. I have my Beanie Along gauge cast/casted on, finally, lol... BTW, Sock fever is a thing. I had it my whole life. I love socks, and I will be a Sock Knitter some day. 🧦❤🧦❤🧦❤🧦
Oh wow!
You might like the night shift cowl. I used color changing yarn and I wear it all winter long.
I'm a tight knitter, too, and I always knit my socks on US 1.5. That works perfectly for me. Good luck with yours! :)
Good to know!
I am a fairly new subscriber and am so excited to take this knitting journey with you! I have knitted scarves and potholders but joined your beanie-along late in the game and am almost through with the rib. I’ve been cross stitching for awhile as well. Thanks SO much for your tutorials!
Wonderful!
Great job on your socks. Love your floss/ knit tube
Thank you! 😊
Don't give up on your first socks. You might be able to put them in the dryer and they shrink up a little Keep checking on them every few minutes to make sure they don't shrink too much. Even superwash can tighten up a little. Congrats on finishing those.
Thanks for the tip!
Finishing up my first beanie this weekend and starting one for my bestie!
Wonderful!
Love the socks
I want to try socks with you being the teacher Kari
Hey, I'm ready for a sock along. I've got some old Red Heart sock yarn in subtle Christmas colors that would be great for practice. I've knitted tube socks, and I'm ready to move up to a heel. Ribbing in the round is no problem for me. So, I'm all in for a sock KAL or a cowl. Love those, too.
Great idea!!
You are amazing….love your videos….i think I’m going to try the beanie…knitting has always been something I want to try but it seems so hard ….thank you for all you do for us.
Go for it!
Thank you
❤❤❤
I am soo happy you finished your socks!! I am desperate to learn how to make socks and you are my idol. I’ve knitted on and off since 12 years old when my mom taught me. So I hope I’m ready for socks after the beanie-along. Can I just ask how many stitches you cast on and what size sock blocker you use, medium or large? I’d also like to make yarn project bags like yours. Any tutorials in mind? I don’t have anyone around to ask for help. Thank you so much.
I’ve got a yarn bag tutorial on my to do list. Hopefully in April. 🙌🏻. I casted on 64 stitches, size US 2. With the superwash yarn I feel like the socks grew a little too much. Going down a needle size for my next pair to see it that’s my magic sock.
Have you found the Grocery Girls knit youtube
yet?
Oh yes! Love them
