- Hello & thanks so much for joining me for another vlog! In this one, we head out to The Coromandel for some camping and adventuring. Things didn't quite go as planned but we tried to make the most of it.

The Pinnacles hike takes about 4 to 5 hours and you can stay up there for the night in a DOC (Dept of conservation) hut which has bunk rooms and shared cooking facilities,
To stay up there you need to book in so that doc staff are aware that you are up there and you pay a fee.
Totally worth the time and the view from the top are incredible.

Was Driving Creek Railway open while you were up at Coromandel town? Its a bit touristy and has gotten more expensive over the years but is a very unique experience and for mine well worth it. Its hard to believe but in the 70s when the potter that started it all bought the land, it was mostly grass / scrub and its slowly been restored to beautiful forest now.
I haven't heard of that! Not too sure if it was open but we might be back in Coromandel before leaving Auckland so I'll research it 😊
