Pretty awesome. Still working on mine but for the interior I took way too many screenshots from RotJ and spent way too much time on something that is supposed to stay closed up.

I took a scalpel to those two pilots arms and carved in gloves and wrists as best I could. couldn't do a damn thing about the crazy boots though.

Great video, loved the detailed description, many thanks! On a technical note, regarding Star Wars vehicles - although they are all brilliantly designed, and very practical and "realistic", some of them would have some, ahem, usability issues, in real life. For example, I always thought that the AT-ST walker would need some sort of internal basket or step below the top hatch/cupola, so that a crew-member would be able to easily climb-in and out or stand with his head out of the top hatch as an observer. Exactly as it happens with all real-life armoured vehicles. It is impossible (I think) to just stand behind those seats and reach the top hatch and look outside - even if you are a Wookie 😁. And to climb out without a step or an elevated basket you would need to perform some impossible gymnastics (getting inside might be easier, you just drop down the hatch until you hit the floor...). And an additional problem with installing an internal basket/step is that the space behind the seats (just below the top hatch/cupola) , is very narrow, because of the back wall with all these equipment boxes etc.
Ok I know it's all fiction, but in most other aspects these vehicles make so much sense, so I always like to think of ways to improve them when I build the models. It's great fun to think outside the box like that, with these vehicle 🙂
And if you start like that then it easily escalates... how does the crew climb down from the walker's head to the ground, when they want to or have to? Shouldn't there be some escape hatch and ladder? It's pretty high up there.... Shouldn't the main hatch/cupola have some surrounding periscopes to allow all-around view (again like in modern armoured vehicles)? But then that rail/banister around the head would seriously obstruct the view... Any rear-facing defence? Some external storage for crew equipment or additional supplies? (ammunition, water, camouflage nets, tools of any kind)?
    Thoughts?

Thanks for your kind words! I am grateful.
I do think about those things from time to time. I was in the Army, and have climbed in and out of hatches, had to get to the top of a vehicle, etc. And even in real life, sometimes those things aren't well planned for! :D
From a modeling perspective, I try to decide from the beginning how I plan to treat things like that. In most cases, to preserve the canon, iconic look, I accept them as they are and move forward. Sometimes thought I do try to factor in a more real world approach. Quite often just addressing one or two realism items can result in a vastly more realistic appearance.
But regardless of the approach I take to any project, my main focus is always "what do I think will be fun?" If building it out of the box and completely canon seems fun, I'll do that. If trying to make it as real-world realistic as possible seems fun, I do that. Or maybe something in between. But the focus is always enjoying the process of this wonderful hobby!
Thanks for your great question, and thanks for watching and commenting!

@@JonBius thanks for the reply, yes I totally agree, what counts the most is to have fun and for each one of us how you do that can differ. What I didn't mention in my previous comment is how inspiring your videos & work is, especially the part where you diversify and change genres, very grateful for that and I hope to see more changes in the future (although I absolutely love the current focus on sci-fi). Change is a sign of health, I think. 🙂
