Anyone else here after the announcement of a new UCS X Wing that looks terrible in comparison to this? 😂 I mean why couldn’t TLG have done something like this instead of the monstrous set they’re putting out?
When I saw the first version of Jerac's x-wing i was quite impressed by the whole design, but because I've seen Inthert's version first I was very sceptical on buying instructions while already having one x-wing at the time. Because of that I was spending my time on improving it's delicate structure but also some other things like implementing wonderful landing gear from Jerac's version. However now I'm quite tired of my old x-wing and this new version has stroke me so hard that I just have to build it for myself ;)
It's kind of funny... The technology that the x-wing resembles is actually quite old for such a futuristic profile. I mean there's no stealth, no sidewinders, no fox 2s etc. If an x-wing and an f-22 we're fighting, the f-22 would probably win. Great model by the way!👍
Amazing work Jerac! I read in the comments on the V1.0 video you were finalising V2.0 so have been eagerly awaiting this. Parts cost 25% less too (*at time of video posting) - fantastic.

I might have to pick up Jerac's instructions for how fantastic it looks with the accurate shaping on top of the superior S-Foil wing mechanism.

There are basically four options I know about: - a jumper plate - proper size, but very basic shape, just a rectangle. I have recently constructed this model and while it looks absolutely amazing as a display piece I must say, the mechanism for opening the wings is janky at best. It works but the wings rarely open in sync and it takes an ungodly amount of force to get them to open all the way. I don’t know what I did differently than the person in this video but I double and triple checked the instructions and could find nothing that I did objectively wrong.
