I have seen your creations floating around my LEGO social bubble for a while and this model made me bite the bullet and get all the parts to build it. @@BAUFmanBricks Hello, I wanted to give another update. I did end up receiving the shipment from MOCBoxing a few days before Christmas so I did not end up needing a refund, and I really enjoyed the build. It was definitely nice to have all the parts come in one shipment but I will probably hold off buying from them again until later next year and will instead start collecting parts from Bricklink to build your Tie Fighter next.
Sort of related, I've seen RotJ countless times, but after seeing it in the cinema again recently I noticed that Luke's X-Wing is unpainted! I checked after getting home and this is true in the scene where we see the landed ship on Dagobah, and also in the deleted scene during the sandstorm, so it's likely a continuity thing and not a mistake, to show it's a new ship after he left his last one on Cloud City. I never really thought about it and always just assumed it had the red stripe!
I LOVE THIS CHANNEL! Beyond the awesome MOCs you create, these videos are just so top notch! The information, the attention to detail, the broll, the sound mixing, all of it! Well done!
Very nice design. The scale, durability and features of the model are very impressive. I do wish Lego offered a better cockpit piece for the x wing though. I think many moc-designs would benefit from a more accurate windscreen, that doesn't get wider at the end, but narrower instead, so the models could be more slender.
Lego windscreen pieces are usually the most determinate piece of any MOC build. There are limited designs available and we have to work our way around them even when they aren’t the most accurate
I think I’m seriously about to take apart my 2021 X-Wing, TIE, and Imperial Shuttle set to get parts for your MOCs! They’ve hit the perfect balance between actually being around fig scale, accurate but not to the point of fragility and still fitting in within LEGO’s aesthetic, and not too big and bloated. As a result, they’re not much more expensive than their official set counterparts. There are other extremely accurate MOCS out there, but then the parts list costs $150 for a single fighter, and illegal techniques statin the parts causing them to crack and become useless, and the sets will fall apart of you dare breathe on them. I don’t think I’ll have to worry much about that with your MOCS.
That’s it! That’s the balance I aim for. I want a small swooshable ship that fits in my hand, is strong enough to share with my kids, but also is detailed enough to display as well
When you do make sure to use the compare feature on Rebrickable and subtract the pieces from your Lego set. It has over 25 percent of the pieces you need for the build
When I bought your instructions, I adapted them to have red 5's color scheme as best as I could with what I had at the time, but now, I'm down to give it another go to see the differences.
