Shoreham Beach Fishing: The Quest for Sea Bream

- Sea fishing Shoreham in West Sussex to fish the Church of the good shepherd shore mark. Targeting sea bream from the beach although a little early for Shoreham with the odd fish turning up. Five of us on the beach using different methods and distances. Baits used were Ragworm, fresh black lug and fish baits.
Sea calm, clear with a gentle breeze and bright sunshine. Fished the tide in and then back out over seven hours.
Did not blank with all of us catching with the exception of Klaus who caught big spider crabs.
Species caught were plaice and Andy striking with a lucky bream, we all were pestered by spider crabs and were plagued by weed at the top of the tide.

Hi Lou what a lovely and kind thing to say. Love the celebrity status 😂 had a bad couple moths on the fishing front. Have been 5 times weed and more weed and no fish and then life and all it’s ups and downs. However went out with Andy yesterday and had a cracker of a day on Bream. Video up today or tomorrow. hi paul you ok matey. another enjoyable watch as the uze. pleased you was in the fish . looked like you all had a great tine . i was out early this morning on the humber and brought back down to earth with a bang haha. my last 2 sessions have produced 15 fish. went back to the mark i thought was hot n hadn't told any one , and blanked . your right about old fisho i'm gutted loved his channel. i'm sure he felt like this about 2 year bk n couldnt beleve the support he got n carried on. so who no's paul. any way all the best chief from a sunny north east grimsby
Hi Carl good to hear from you am on holiday by the sea with wife and dog no fishing rods as just wanted to zone out and relax away from the mad world.
Am down near Chichester and weather like yours not bad. Blanking is tedious but happens to the best of us when you think everything is perfect. Then the times you think are not the best turn up surprises. Am away for this week and then back to fishing probably going to Hayling island with Andy in tow.
Shame about Fisho but do understand where he’s coming from. He is a top bloke and comes from our neck of the woods and can often be seen on the beach. Just going for a walk with the dog cheers Paul 👍😎🎣🎣🍺

Was hoping to go fishing today out on boat but skipper rang last night and too windy. Plan is next weekend to go to Portsmouth and have a go. Bit further to drive but never fished down there. Hi Colin yep all good and much appreciated your concern. Few lumps and bumps along the way and a few rubbish fishing trips so not the most positive in my self. Tried to get out on boat twice and first try was witness to a head on fatal collision and then stuck in motorway while the police investigated for hours. Last weekend tried again and too windy. Mix in mother in law falling and life generally and not been too much fun. Am planning a comeback with Andy this weekend 🤞big thanks for the message really means a lot to me take care Paul 👍👍👍🐠🎣
i used to watch fishos videos ,sad that he stopped doing them , never saw thr results of his bass bundles.
Likewise really miss his videos as they always were real and down to earth with decent fish being caught and some great experiments.
He still goes out fishing and one of the fellows I fish with Rob from Shoreham sees him on local beaches from time to time. I think he got overwhelmed with the pressure of making TH-cam videos and not being able just to fish. I feel like that from time to time but will be out in a week or two after some recent operations 👍🤞🎣🎣 take care cheers Paul

Windy weedy and no fish and starting to get fishing paranoia 😂 am writing this at 4.00 am and have a cunning plan as am heading to Eastbourne out on a boat and determined to catch something decent 🤞take care cheers Paul 👍👍🐠🐠🍺
@@SeaFishingWithPaul hope you have better luck on the boat trip, yes it’s been pretty weedy our way, usually fish Whitstable and Tankerton, but some decent Bass have been coming out in between the clumps of weed

@@KevCane8464 sitting here police all around me and 8 cars ahead of me two fire engines blocking road. In front of them smashed car and dead occupants who were driving wrong way down motorway. Very sobering and I can always go fishing another day. Kinda lost the motivation today and feel for the poor people in the smashed up car. Been here since 5.20am. Hey ho 🐠

Hi Fellow thanks for the message means a lot. Have been on four trips over the last month and all disasters. Weed in clumps the size of a small car, really strong winds and on occasion rain. In amongst that no fish and managed to lose some of my recording equipment 😆 have also had a few issues at home with my wife’s mum. This weekend am committed to home stuff but am back out there on the beach the following weekend.
Been one of those challenging months hopefully not to be repeated. Really grateful for the message take care Paul 🐠👍👍🍺🎣
@@SeaFishingWithPaul glad to hear you are ok. I was worried as hadn’t seen any of your videos for a while. I hope all is ok with your wife’s mum, and that your luck changes on the beach soon. I had 4 sessions where I was weeded out within 30 mins and total blanks. Finally ended with a couple of smooth hounds in a little session before the weed started again. 👍🏽 hope you see you back out on the shingle soon keep up the great work

Another great video Paul ,and some good looking plaice. I find that to catch a greater variety of fish , if you tip your hook with licorice you can catch all sorts. Enjoy your holiday. Mike

I can assure you the floats work. I use several 'float' rigs which present the bait in front of the fish and keeps it off the bottom. However they work best in more cloudy water with movement. Great video Paul. Have a lovely holiday!

Great vid Paul , I had a decent session for a change at leydown on Friday night , had my 1st of 5 Bass and my 1st smooth hound pup , can't wait to get out again 😀 enjoy the break mate and we look forward to the next vid 🎣 👍

Hi Klaus my wife agrees with you if it’s alive and lives in the sea it counts and one of those crabs beat my personal best spider crab. I wonder if we could target on a serious note a monster spider maybe have a go next time given you have the knack . Great to be out on a beach in your company loved it 🎣👍👍👍🐠🍺

Hi fellow have been fishing for last 6 weekends and Sod’s law at work. Weed the size of minis floating by, wind and really hot. Had to go where people could not swim so deep water and big currents hence weed and to add to all of that no fish and issues at home with mother in law. Did not go want to upload videos with grumpy bloke and no fish 😆 then in amongst that bust camera gear. Last weekend had a really good plan to go out on friends boat on Sunday. Weather perfect tide perfect and flat sea. Headed down M23 to pick my mate up early doors. Was trundling along nicely at 5.20am and feeling good. Nearly at junction to turn off and couple cars in front with lorry in distance then saw car driving wrong way coming towards me. It crashed into the lorry at high speed then cartwheeled towards me and other cars with bits going everywhere before stopping by the central reservation. Lots of shocked people checked on driver and very obviously dead really upsetting. Fire engines etc then arrived and we were then kept in cars for five hours as we were so close to the scene and had to wait while accident investigators did their bit. Eventually we’re taking the wrong way down M23 by police and got home early afternoon. Young man during car and killed made me very sad and fortunate to be able to keep enjoying life puts life in clear perspective. This weekend too hot but plan a trip next weekend 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞take care Paul
@@SeaFishingWithPaul goodness, sounds like a tough gig , I should be more patient. Hope you get over what sounds like a bit of shock actually and get some more grumpy video sessions going soon, everyone seems to be asking which is a compliment. And best wishes for the mother in law.
We are often reminded that Life is short. that makes it all the more precious, do what makes you happy, live and love while you can. Fish on, grumpy or not.

Hi Kevin am well thanks and really kind of you to ask. Have been to a beach venue five times in the last six weeks but all trips marred by ridiculous amounts of weed and strong winds. Then add no fish and would not have made very jolly viewing for my audience. I was then invited out on a subscribers boat last Sunday and everything was looking perfect weather ace flat sea and a good tide. I agreed to meet him at 6.00am at his house down the M33 and then drive us to his boat. Was really excited and arrived at the turnoff on A23 about 600 metres ahead of me and saw car crash head on into lorry debris down chaos. This was approx 5.30am and the driver of the car was killed and the lorry driver was ok although in shock. The vehicle was driving at speed the wrong way down the motorway which was then closed most of the day both ways. The police kept all the vehicles who had witnessed events for 5 hours on the motorway and eventually got home 7 hours later and all very upsetting so seems fishing luck not the best at the moment but am planning a trip maybe this weekend 🤞🤞🤞🤞take care Paul and hope all good with you 🥵
