@Nordic investor How do you think the Real to USD exchange rate will trend in 10-15 years? I imagine a lot of us who are on similar journeys of wanting to retire early and follow your same journey would be impacted. Could the real gain strength to the US dollar? Anyone else curious to see a video on this?
Hi, yes the Real has fluctuated a great deal over the last 10 years. My approach has always been to hold half my wealth in Real and half in dollars so that I do not get impacted by the fluctuations.
There is 0 chance on the real appreciating against USD. Brazil has a higher inflation than America does. Our debt is exploding and our politics/economics are always managed by some idiots. I’m 28 and when i was born the exchange rate from Reais to USD was 1-1, nowadays it’s almost 6-1. If i was you, i would keep 80% or more of my money in strong currencies. In the long run, that will make your cost of living in REAIS even cheaper.
The upper band of Brazil target inflation is around 4.5%. US target inflation is around 2%. So just based on that, BRL tends to devalue against the USD overtime. Additionally, the current government is not helping as well, creating huge deficits (very close to pandemic levels) and I don't see any cut in government expendings in the coming years. So that could make the Brazilian inflation to go up a little bit, which means that the FX rate will also go up (BRL will devalue against the USD). Besides that I really think we're very close to a global recession, and although DXY plummets during recessions, emerging market currencies tends to suffer very much. Just as exemple, in 2008 the BRL/USD went from R$1.62 to R$2.35 (a devaluation of almost 50%). So we could see the current FX rate going from R$5.71 to more than R$8 per USD in a recession. So unless we have a commodity cycle soon, BRL will always devalue against USD.
Thank you for all the informative videos. You mentioned in one of your videos one or more crypto exchanges / platforms that you recommend. I can't find the video anymore. Can you tell me which one you recommend?
This definitely happens. The key is that you have insurance on your things in case something is damaged or stolen. Luckily all my stuff arrived without any issues.
Hi, I'm curious about somethings: first, why did you move to Brazil?? and where do you live here? you can just name the state if you dont want to mention the name of the city
A good source is the Brazilian embassy in your country and also your country's embassy in Brazil, for example the US embassy in Brazil has a list of lawyers in santa catarina br.usembassy.gov/pt/u-s-citizen-services-pt/lista-de-advogados-2/
Some places in Brazil are small and by mass advertising them in English you can disrupt the housing market and greatly harm locals. Think more carefully please
This is not a channel with 1M subscribers. I seriously doubt of any ill effects on a small local market. Only a small percentage of subscribers will actually end up moving to BZ and even less to whatever small local market.. Everything is relative
I’m so happy that you are in my country !! We welcome you and please enjoy living in Brazil 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷😊😊😊😊🙏👏🏻👍
Thank you !
To meet the real estate investment requirements, is it necessary to pay for it all up front? Or is a loan ok in order to meet the visa requirements?
