Gosh, I so enjoy watching your videos. Even cleaning the garage was a joy. Please keep them coming. Next time I'm in the UK, I'd love to meet you and have a cup of tea.
Definitely - there were a few occasions I tried to get started in there but was defeated by all the stuff I'd have to shift out of the way first. There's a lot to be said for just walking into the garage and starting work without having to tidy first.
Happy new year to you too! Yes, tea space is important! More seriously, it's worth having a dedicated space otherwise I just end up putting it somewhere precarious and running the risk of knocking it over...
Space is the issue with my '78 FHC too. I have 3 x 6x4 sheds I plan to rearrange soon to give me the space I need. A lot of classics resemble a treadmill used to dry clothes.
It's amazing how much space a car will take up once it's all taken apart! The good thing about rebuilding is that pile of parts just keeps getting smaller as you go. A separate shed or two would be ideal!
Loving this build! Found it only a couple of weeks back then binge watched! Now I’m having withdrawal symptoms! 😂 Can I come visit and drink a cuppa with you? 😊
@@RedsGarageUK Place you decent biccy orders! I’ve had 3 TR7’s, one got stolen, 1 got written off whilst parked up and the last one got scrapped whilst I was on holiday! 😫 Next one will be a nut and bolt restoration job, a convertible and a V8! 🙌🏼
@@danielknight2841 Ouch. Fourth time lucky...? There's a nice triton green resto project for sale at Robsport at the moment, might be worth a look. I'd grab it myself, but apparently I have to finish this one first before I'm allowed to have another 😆
Drilling into the soft brick isn’t your best option. You should hang your shelf supports down from the wooden beam. This will spread the weight across the whole beam and give you a much higher weight capacity.
It's only just temporary, and even in the soft brick they're holding well enough. I gave all the shelves a good tug and pull and they're on there solidly enough. I'll be doing something much better once I can get the car out of the garage.
Haha, thanks! 🤣 But it's not motivation - it's been findin the time that's the issue. A lot of projects on the go! But I'm nearly done shooting the next video, so it won't be long. Hang in there! 😆
I did think about that but this is just a temporary job, I'll do something better when the car's out of the garage. It's quite an old building too, so I'm trying to avoid doing too much to it. I like the character of it!
@@RedsGarageUK yes I know what your saying, but what if, and I know you can say am looking on the negative side of things, what if the walls fell in on the car, or you? I do hope it don't, with high winds and the extra Wight on the walls. It's looks in should a bad way, but keep going and we will all hope for the best 😁
The trick with these walls is to build up some proper framing and find some good places to drill (there are some good bricks in there) and then I can put up some proper shelving. But that's more work than I'm willing to do while I have to work around the car! I'll do that properly once the car's out of the garage.

Nice clean area to work in makes it more inviting to go back there - looking forward to the 7 getting mobile

Makes me want to clean my garage and build some shelves. Looking forward to your next video.
I say go for it - it'll feel so much better. Trust me on this!
Happy new year nice to see you back always have to have space for tea 👍

Happy new year! Good effort with the garage! Looking forward to watching your future updates!
Thanks, and happy new year! I've just come back inside after doing some work in the garage, so updates will be coming soon!

Thanks, it's good to be back on the project now!

Just laying on the floor, desperate for the next episode…

Thank goodness! I was going to start howling at the moon!
maybe drill to otherside of brick (through hole) studs with toggle bolts to otherside (lol)
Lol, I've considered it!
I would of repoint the wall first before you did anything, but nice to see 👍just keep at it

or furring strips could work too to create interior walls
