Without any witnesses being able to point at them being assassinated, at least specifically by him. Whether they or someone near them succumbed to madness and involved them into a fight to the death, or combust in a mysterious fuel spill, not even the Brotherhood assassins themselves can trace their deaths back to him. Yet the Night Mother keeps rewarding and favoring him, which means he is still in the grace of Sithis. He MUST have killed those people, yet nobody can even guess how he does that. The only thing they know is that a contract made with him is even more of a death sentence than any other Brotherhood work, if such a thing is even possible.

i always feel especially bad about killing narfi because on my first playthrough, i completed his quest to find his sisters necklace, making him so happy and thankful, that he considered me a friend and decided to show up at my wedding in riften, so i snuck him some gold before leaving. when i got the contract to kill narfi my heart sunk and i wanted to kill whoever put the contract out on him instead :(
If you do the quest for the necklace, narfy will give you ingridient for the dark brotherhood ritual, so hypothetically narfi just wanted to see his sister
This is pretty much the opposite of your Thieves Guild challenge. Thieves Guild: Lots of (crimeless) killing, no crimes or bounties. Dark Brotherhood: Lots of crimes and bounties, no killing.
Ahhh, happy memories. I did the dark brotherhood questline with almost 0 sneak. When I got to the wedding, I had neither the fighting ability to kill openly nor the sneak to hide it. What I ended up doing was to frenzy the wife. She takes what's basically a butter knife to the nearest person (her husband), and he retaliated with a gigantic murder sword, killing her. The bounty for casting that spell is almost nothing, I paid it off right away and waltzed out clean in the eyes of the law. It was funny that the quest after acted like there was some big chaos going on I had to escape, when really everything was totally calm.

Lol, on my first playthrough, i became arch mage without using any magic, cuz my build is warrior (mostly stealth archer xD) so i defeat all the enemies only using sword and bow. And at that time i dont even know that college is for mage 😂

It's even easier if you don't build for a mage, since the final boss drains your magicka. And there are enemies that resist every kind of destruction magic, like the boss from the Peryite quest, they really don't want you to play this style.
There is one time where you have to cast a spell: during the one puzzle in "Revealing the Unseen" where you have to use flame and frost spells. Not sure if there's any way around it.

Be dragonborn or speech-check Faralda at the door, use Spellbreaker for Tolfdir's demonstration, use a pawned enchanted weapon, explosive/frost crossbow bolt, or torch for one puzzle. I think that is literally it. You would need the staff for the final boss, but you could probably do it by giving it to a follower maybe? Lord knows ymfah could probably glitch Ancano to die without needing to actually fire the staff. Sure, all the enemies use magic, but you can easily counteract that without even using enchanting. It's sad really
I always liked that Astrid was chilling on top of a bookshelf. And then no other character does something like that in game again. Also, Astrid is one of the oldest Scandinavian names. It means something like flower.
I think the reason that such random people are labelled as “protected” is because they’re more likely to die without the Dragonborn doing jack shit. The mill guy could bite it to some random mudcrabs, the captain’s son could get got by some dragon on his way through the holds and Nazir’s attacker could... y’know, get killed by Nazir. Come to think of it why do you even need to “save” him, he seems to have got it down all on his own
During my first run I got the Dark Brotherhood note and my character never slept so I never met Astrid until maybe 3 weeks later (I slept in a Dwemer ruin I was in the middle of and it made me so sad).
He used to say "without killing" but youtube would autorestrict/demonitize it immediately. So he changed it. Ironically they're technically the least violent Skyrim runs lol.

Ahhh, happy memories. I did the dark brotherhood questline with almost 0 sneak. When I got to the wedding, I had neither the fighting ability to kill openly nor the sneak to hide it. What I ended up doing was to frenzy the wife. She takes what's basically a butter knife to the nearest person (her husband), and he retaliated with a gigantic murder sword, killing her. The bounty for casting that spell is almost nothing, I paid it off right away and waltzed out clean in the eyes of the law. It was funny that the quest after acted like there was some big chaos going on I had to escape, when really everything was totally calm.

Lol, on my first playthrough, i became arch mage without using any magic, cuz my build is warrior (mostly stealth archer xD) so i defeat all the enemies only using sword and bow. And at that time i dont even know that college is for mage 😂

It's even easier if you don't build for a mage, since the final boss drains your magicka. And there are enemies that resist every kind of destruction magic, like the boss from the Peryite quest, they really don't want you to play this style.
*Next time on YMFAH* Completing the mage college questline without casting any spells.
I've already seen someone do that, though they used magic from staffs, but no magic cast from the hands.
There is one time where you have to cast a spell: during the one puzzle in "Revealing the Unseen" where you have to use flame and frost spells. Not sure if there's any way around it.
@@heartbeat4atinman Staffs resole this problem, since technically you're just using the power inside the item and not really practicing magic yourself.

Be dragonborn or speech-check Faralda at the door, use Spellbreaker for Tolfdir's demonstration, use a pawned enchanted weapon, explosive/frost crossbow bolt, or torch for one puzzle. I think that is literally it. You would need the staff for the final boss, but you could probably do it by giving it to a follower maybe? Lord knows ymfah could probably glitch Ancano to die without needing to actually fire the staff. Sure, all the enemies use magic, but you can easily counteract that without even using enchanting. It's sad really

I think the reason that such random people are labelled as “protected” is because they’re more likely to die without the Dragonborn doing jack shit.
The mill guy could bite it to some random mudcrabs, the captain’s son could get got by some dragon on his way through the holds and Nazir’s attacker could... y’know, get killed by Nazir. Come to think of it why do you even need to “save” him, he seems to have got it down all on his own
having to kill nazir's guy is so in character you don't just go straight to hugging the nightmother

During my first run I got the Dark Brotherhood note and my character never slept so I never met Astrid until maybe 3 weeks later (I slept in a Dwemer ruin I was in the middle of and it made me so sad).
