Aizawa-sensei still trying to protect his students while being pummelled to the ground and badly injured is one of the best part of these episodes imo, shows that he's not any less heroic than All Might, despite his seemingly cold personality.

The villian with the hands shares a va with your fave character from Haikyuu Tsukishima. Todoroki with the ice powers, is Kozume kenma of nekoma's va Then the bird guy Tokoyami is some character named Asahi from Haikyuu. You might have heard of him.
I'm almost certain that the fact that Lachy kept calling Aizawa "Oizawa" is definitive proof that Oikawa is always on his mind 😂 The hate for Mineta was killing me 😂 but the utter disgust at Shigaraki scratching himself and telling him to put some cream on it and have a snickers was absolute gold. And by the way, yes, Yaoyorozu's quirk is absolutely broken and theoretically she could definitely make a nuclear bomb but then she would just blow everyone up including herself and her allies 😅 she does do some pretty cool things with her quirk later in the series though.
Shigaraki is such a vibe. I miss this side of him when he's in full on bratty gamer mode. I'd also like to point out that he's not that much older than the students as well. At this point, he's only 20.... so something to keep in mind.
Momos quirk is definitely amazing, but also very limited she uses the lipids in her body from eating food to make creations. So it mainly depends on how much food she has in her to what she can make quantity or size wise
Although there are limitations on her quirk, it is easily one of the most versatile of the abilities and is the one I'd personally want myself. I'd say the trickier part of her quirk isn't the lipids but the vast amount of knowledge it takes to create complex items. Momo would need to know everything about the construction of an atomic bomb in order to create a functioning one, she basically needs to be a rocket scientist in order to create them.
Aizawa is absolutly one of my favorite characters, he may seem like a harsh and strict teacher, but we can see how far he will go for his students because he genuinely cares for them, the reason why he expells the students he sees no potential in is because he doesnt want them to die just because they werent ready or didnt had what it take to be heroes. There is a spin-off manga series called Vigilantes, in which one of their Volumes has his backstory of his own school days and it makes his interactions with the students 100% more deep that you think it is, you should read the Volume that has his backstory before season 5, because there they show a little bit but not the whole thing and it makes the watch of the episode with his backstory 100% better because you have more context (I think its Volume 8)

As cool as that last big fight was, the beginning of ep13 is my favorite part of this hero vs army of villains mini plot going on across these few episodes.

I also strongly dislike the Purple Pevert character, and would enjoy the series a lot more if he weren't in it, similarly, momo would have been much more palatable if she were instead wearing like a crop top or something instead of the weirdly mature split front. As far as why Mineta is in the show with his pervertedness, I think there is something to be said for the idea that every vice is connected to a virtue, being obsessed with girls can make you a pervert, but if you channel it well it can inspire you to become chivalrous,. not to mention it's something that can be matured from, after all, he's what 15? what I find more distasteful is that the environment he's in doesn't try to correct him, other than the women he harrasses defending themselves from him, nobody seems to be interested in teaching him his manners or punishing his misbehavior.

Also watching this again with you I realized that you totally give off Kirishima vbes. He is the redhead that is stuck with Bokugo. Oh yeah, his quirk certainly came in handy in helping Deku come up with a plan to neutralize the water-based villains... but he'd be a lot easier to have on-screen if he was a lot less handsy

Her quirk is certainly useful for stealth, but how the heck did it help her in the entrance exam and the quirk fitness tests? I honestly was surprised that her numbers were better than Deku's, as even though he couldn't use his quirk to get better results, we know he was working out and building strength for months with All Might. But I disgress...

Westerners have a hard time "getting" the humor that is Mineta. The Japanese love visual, absurdist, slapstick comedy, and what better excuse for visual gags than to have a pervert get his comeuppance? Happened all the time in Dragon Ball with Master Roshi. You can dislike a character, but understanding why they're written that way to grasp regional and personal writing choices is something that creative minds should strive to do. Personally, I love MIneta, I think he's hilarious, and constantly gets whats coming to him, at moments where tenseness needs to be undercut a little to balance out the writing.
Yaoyorozu Momo's costume is so skimpy, because her quirk (creation) makes the items using her lipids and she literally expells created items through her skin. If she for example had a full body suit, the created items would get caught under the suit. It's literally the only time in any superhero fiction, where boob window serves an actual purpose and is not dumb.
However, there are a lot more practical costumes that fans have designed that would serve a similar function. For example, if the boob window of her outfit was meant to facilitate creation, why did she not create the electricity-blocking blanket from the open front of her costume rather than splitting her top by creating it from her back? Because no matter the "justification" for her design, the real reason is for fanservice. And don't get me wrong, Momo is actually my favorite character because of her smart and caring personality and awesome quirk, but ugh her costume.

Also most redesigns are simply bad. They simply either make a zipper to the front(which just means there is an extra step requiring for the usage of her quirk which in sudden situations can be detrimental) or they cover the front and uncover her back. Sure, perhaps she can make stuff through her back, however it is terribly unintuitive and uncomfortable. Imagine she needs to make a weapon during a fight and simply to pull it out, as she often does.

To then say having an exposed back is impractical goes counter to the fact that she had to destroy her costume in order to make a big object from her back...which she wouldn't have to do if her back was exposed. A better costume could be as simple as a sports bra top and shorts, it would leave her middle open for both front and back creation without requiring extra steps or the destruction of her costume. Also, she generally makes weapons from her arms, not her chest, so she doesn't need to have access to her chest for weapon creation (it's not like she's pulling swords out of her chest like an Utena character, lol). In fact, her current costume actually restricts her options by covering her back, middle, and sides, which we already see is impractical as in her first encounter with villains, she had to destroy her costume in order to make what she needed for the fight.
mineta is easily the worst part of this series LOL but otherwise this arc is so fire, seeing you so stressed and excited reminded me of how it felt to watch it ages ago when i got into the series!! a wonderful end to the first season that pulls you in and lays the foundation for a LOT to come :D

Like if it’s another child sexualizing a child instead of an adult, it’s okay all of a sudden? I am glad that the girls in the show don’t let Mineta get away with it though. Momo’s suit being super revealing is (in my opinion) blatant fan service poorly disguised as a necessity because “her clothes would get in the way of the items she creates.” My Hero could’ve been just as incredible and popular without the fan service, but unfortunately somebody thought it was necessary to keep people interested. 🤷♀️
Yeah once MHA gets going, it's hard to just watch one or two episodes, so glad you did not do that to us and leave us on a massive cliffhanger! These episodes definitely amp up the stakes for the heroes! At the same time, you also get a taste of the show's major weakspot, with Mineta's behavior and the unnecessarily gratuitous shots of Momo. Mineta (purple perv) is played for laughs, only he's not funny, only gross. MHA's treatment of its female characters is pretty bad, which sucks because some of them are really great characters otherwise. Momo is my favorite character in the show, despite her overly sexualized costume. Some will explain that it's practical for her quirk, but there are better ways to design her costume without sacrificing function. She's actually a really smart and caring character, who is able to think on her feet during stressful situations.
@@lachyywhite yeah, I feel like because there are things the show does really well, that the areas where it lacks stands out more. But what it does well, it excels at, and for me makes it worth the watch despite the flaws.
This series would be 10x better if they released a version of it that was exactly the same except Mineta didnt exist. Little pervert isnt funny he just makes every scene he touches uncomfortable.

Yeah once MHA gets going, it's hard to just watch one or two episodes, so glad you did not do that to us and leave us on a massive cliffhanger!
These episodes definitely amp up the stakes for the heroes! At the same time, you also get a taste of the show's major weakspot, with Mineta's behavior and the unnecessarily gratuitous shots of Momo. Mineta (purple perv) is played for laughs, only he's not funny, only gross. MHA's treatment of its female characters is pretty bad, which sucks because some of them are really great characters otherwise. Momo is my favorite character in the show, despite her overly sexualized costume. Some will explain that it's practical for her quirk, but there are better ways to design her costume without sacrificing function. She's actually a really smart and caring character, who is able to think on her feet during stressful situations.

@@lachyywhite yeah, I feel like because there are things the show does really well, that the areas where it lacks stands out more. But what it does well, it excels at, and for me makes it worth the watch despite the flaws.
Yes Mineta is the most useless and annoying character I have seen in any show, he makes looks Sakura like an awesome character 😂

This series would be 10x better if they released a version of it that was exactly the same except Mineta didnt exist. Little pervert isnt funny he just makes every scene he touches uncomfortable.
