I was whole foods vegetarian for over 40 years and switched to ketovore/carnovore five years ago. To be honest I feel much better being higher fat and low carb these days. My cholesterol ratios are better and AIC went from pre diabetic to normal 5.4.
I went vegan for 6 month and got skinny weak and frail af couldn’t even lift in the gym lol. I will never do that again I’m on keto nearly half a year cut sugar out eating fatty meat veg and I feel amazing not to forget to mention adding organ meats in the diet I really noticed a shift in my mental state of being when I started consuming organ meats
I'm glad you turned to actual research instead of the TH-cam uni. It takes guts to make a 180-degree-turn public and I applaud you for it. You may be saving lives doing this. ❤ My LDL is 70 on a plant-based diet. Best of luck to you!
I thought I saw Beth say in an earlier video that her stroke was caused by an unknown hole in her heart … not from her diet . To each his own , I’m not carnivore but I eat meat and plenty of healthy fat and my HDL and trig ratio is now perfect when before when I was on a low fat , high plant diet with grilled chicken and brown rice etc it was terrible , and indicated I was not heart healthy . It’s very confusing and all these people flip flopping on you tube makes it worse. Everybody has to decide for themselves , for me when I was technically doing a so called “ hearth healthy “ diet I was the sickest I have ever been . Now , I feel great and work out daily. Maybe there is no set diet for every single person. Some people thrive on carnivore and some may thrive on low fat. People of all diets have heart attacks , vegans , whole plant based , carnivores etc , people with low cholesterol have as many heart attacks as with high cholesterol . Do what your body feels best on .
Carnivore did feel good I have to admit. Unfortunately, though it turns out it is not very good for one’s health. Eating meat and dairy causes a high saturated fat diet. I wish I had known that before I started the carnivore diet. I listen to influencers that seem to know what they were talking about. I found out later however that there are no studies that support carnivore as a heart disease reversal diet. Heart disease is the number one killer in America.
I can’t speak to just carnivore because I’ve never been strictly carnivore , but I am probably a meat heavy low carb . Studies are so controversial because they are so often done with a bias from the start or backed by big food , or big Pharma etc . The vegan and plant based community is behind many as well so I take many of them with a grain of salt. I don’t think any diet has to be for everyone , but it’s become a battle of the influencers on you tube. What I learned for myself as someone who used to buy into the no red meat , low fat , brown rice , grilled chicken , fruits and veggies etc … was my blood work did not back up that it was heart healthy for me , the ratios that are most indicative of heart health were not good on that low fat diet , they were double what they should have been . I had bad IBS , GERD and felt awful . I began to do low carb and upped my sat fat and it all went away and my blood work became great . I don’t see how a diet that is so bad for you can make your body feel so good and get rid of so many health issues . As I said above , people on all diets have strokes and heart attacks , carnivores aren’t immune and neither are plant based. The WOE battles are exhausting , people wanting to blame this diet for this or that . Basically if people cut out the junk they will be better off no matter what else they eat . People should eat what is working best for their body reflected in blood work and how they feel . I do still trust many of the people like Dr Berry who have many studies of his own about heart health and meat. I do love veggies and eat them as well. Glad you are doing so well .
@@FiftyPlusBeauty Likewise, there are no valid studies that naturally occurring fat found in meat causes heart disease either. Transfats are the bad fats and those are artificially created. Wishing you the best!
You literally can not live without fat and protein. I've been Keto for 5 and half years now. I lost over 130 pounds and feel amazing at 51. I certainly do pray you find what works best for you. Sending prayers and love ❤️

Yes, I agree. She should disclose it if she had this because it’s an important part of the story that could definitely impact how this video affects others. It’s safe to say that most people have heard what happens after the you know what. As opposed to most people Being very successful on carnivore
It often takes something dramatic in our lives to make a change. My cholesterol (as well as inflammatory markers) had gotten so high on a high saturated fat, low carb keto way of eating, my doctor was extremely alarmed and warned me where I was heading...and it wasn't good. After slowly making small changes in my food choices, nothing changed dramatically until I went whole food plant based oil free and my cholesterol went down close to 100 points. My doctor is no longer worried and my digestion and gut is so much better as well. I love Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn who is highly regarded in the field. I also enjoy watching his wife and daughters cooking videos as well as Chef AJ and Plantiful Kiki. We are all different and have different genetics but this has worked for me. I so much appreciate your video. You have helped tremendously.
I was clean vegan for at least 5 years. I was never sicker. It’s interesting how each persons body responds to different things. I’m not currently carnivore, but am definitely animal based and have never felt better. IBS under control, less joint pain, no migraines, enjoying a healthy weight and stronger than I’ve ever been. Carbohydrates, even the healthiest ones, are not my friends in the high amounts usually consumed on a plant based diet. I love watching people on different health journeys. It’s fascinating.
@heidicook2739 I'm very confused and I've done so much research! I've been keto/carnivore for almost a year (following Dr.Berry & Dr. Berg)I've lost over 20lbs(at my ideal weight now)and all inflammation. However, at my last checkup, my cholesterol and LDL levels were quite high. Heart disease runs in my family so a diet of BBB&E concerns me. Even with the so called "healthy" carbs I'm concerned about weight gain and inflammation returning. My PA is on keto and she didn't seem overly concerned.Wants to recheck my blood work in 6 mos.
I can relate! I suffered severe enough arthritis to necessity both hips replaced at 49 and 50 years…then in 2017 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thank goodness my Oncologist immediately recommended all sugars and carbs be removed from my diet due to their link with cancer. I began as Keto then morphed into Ketovore. I had an unexpected and WELCOME side effect: inflammation and miserable body aches and joint pain nearly immediately subsided. Getting out of bed in the morning is no longer a five minute process of trying to slowly straighten my back and shuffle out of my bedroom. The veggies I love so much, when I consume them, send me back into aches and pains and trigger an awful bout of diverticulitis. I miss my roasted Brussels and salads…but they make me miserable. I do eat avocados daily - and sometimes sugar not added pickle chips…but that is all. I feel as healthy as I did at 35 (I’m 58). I think each individual needs to follow what works best for THEM. I had been suspicious of all the meat because of the cholesterol…but my labs are always great!
@@RedHeadOnTheRanch Look further into cholesterol research. The cholesterol levels that most Drs subscribe statins for are now changing. They are finding some higher levels are healthier.
@@RedHeadOnTheRanch While on carnivore, my LDL jumped high. My doc has me on a statin for 180 days till recheck. All of my other blood work is fine. My bp jumped high and I think its b/c of the salt. I was never a saltshaker prior to carnivore so I'm cutting back on that to see if it lowers down. I had a stress test two weeks ago and passed. Heart and arteries are fine. I think once I heal my autoimmune disease, I will slowly add certain veggies. I'm not 100% carnivore. I eat fermented foods like sauerkraut, green pimento stuffed olives and dill pickles. Everyone should get blood work done before and after starting carnivore b/c it will have a bad effect on some of us.
My father recently passed. He was a few months over 97. He took no medication ever and no flu shots, etc. He ate everything, carbs, vegetables, meat, eggs, bread, luncheon meats, and he loved ice cream. His health declined rapidly after his body decided not to eat anymore, which was about a month before his passing. Finding the diet that’s best for us is a journey, as we are all different. Personally, I believe balance and moderation is good to follow. I wish you the best as you begin your new journey. And, thank you for sharing your stroke story. I am sure you have helped many.
My mom just passed Jan 7 at 99 yrs old. Growing up I never remember her ever going to the doctors for anything not even mammograms colonoscopy. She ate everything. She just quit eating also about month before she passed. I don’t know who to believe anymore. 🤦♀️
Happy New Year Beth! I am very happy to hear you are on a heart-healthy diet! I went on Carnivore to just " test it out" and I had every bad reaction. I lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks but I got sick. Perhaps younger women can handle it but women our age have to be so careful about their kidneys, heart and other organ failure. I became very frightened on the carnivore diet after I became very light-headed and weak on one side of my body. It wasn't a stroke but I felt terrible...weak. My blood work came back very bad. I am turning 69 and from now on I won't play games with my health. I went on a heart-healthy diet before Christmas and my blood work is good and I feel so much better not being on a meat diet! I have self-control and I don't have to eat one type of food to lose weight... especially meat. I hope your videos on this subject helps many women....xxoo Have a great day! xo Susan & Dez PS: Vegetables I really feel keep cancer away.
Hi little poet! Love your channel! I am glad you are now on a good diet that you feel good on and that is healthy for you. I’m glad your bloodwork has improved so much. Mine did too and I feel much better. God bless you!
I also tried it for two weeks..keto for two weeks before...I felt awful...aches and pains all over and exhausted..then twice it felt like my heart was failing when I went for a walk...never again!! Back to plant based ..it felt so so wrong to eat animals....
Thank you for sharing this information, Beth. Early last year I had a lumpectomy due to abnormal cells in one of my breasts. My situation caused me concern that I would have a repeat event. Like you, I threw myself into research which lead me to a WFPB diet, as well. Much of the early info I found was from the same sources you’ve named. I (along with my husband out of support) switched to a WFPB diet. Our cholesterol and blood pressure numbers have improved greatly. It’s an adjustment and learning curve for sure, but am so glad we switched to WFPB. So many great sources for recipes, it just takes an open mind to try new habits in the kitchen.
I am so glad to hear you were doing so well! It is amazing about the plant-based diet. It reverses heart disease, and it is also proven to reduce the risk of cancer. Personally, I believe it can reverse even reverse cancer. I am so glad everything is improving for you.
I’m so glad you are off the carnivore diet. I was very worried about you but felt I shouldn’t interfere with advice. I was praying so God would direct your path and He obviously did.
God directed my path away from WFPB after many years. After the flood, God gave us meat to eat, and he brought the Israelites to a land of _milk_ and honey. I’m now mostly carnivore and am slowly seeing improvements. 🙏🏻
Thank you so much, Cindy. I truly think God allowed me to survive the stroke so I could share this information with others. The carnivore diet is really very dangerous. You’re one smart cookie!
@@FiftyPlusBeauty Beth, it is 4/8/24 and I must tell you, you’ve been on my mind for SO long as I haven’t seen any recent videos of you. I included you in my daily prayers for the past month. Wish I knew how to private message you but this will have to do. Rest, don’t be anxious, and know God is with you.
Congratulations Beth. I have been on a whole food plant based diet for at least 5 years. Also following the advice of the Dr.s you mentioned and several others. I believe you and your husband are on the right track . I wish you good health and well-being. You are doing much to help spread the good news about food and diet. Thank you!
I am so sorry you had that scary and horrible experience. As you point out, everyone is different. My mother had the essentially same stroke, though she never did recover from it. I'm 78 and just started the carnivore diet. I appreciate very much your willingness to share this experience, and I can only hope that the same thing doesn't happen to me - or to anyone else who has come to carnivore for its health benefits. I have heard worse things about plant-based diets than about carnivore, so in the end, it's kind of a crapshoot. I hope that each of us has the courage to see our own best route to health AND to share with others when we think we have made the wrong choice.
no the EXPERIMENTAL covid shots caused your stroke. Look into this. start wtih Rumble stew peters interviews with Dr Jane Ruby covid shots, whats in the covid shot. also "dr fuellmich grand jury day 1' = shocking vid worth your time. dont blame your diet. people all over the world have had strokes, heart attacks, major health issues caused by these EXPERIMENTAL covid shots. dont take flu, rsv or covid etc shots THEY ARE ALL STILL EXPERIMENTAL.
You've never heard of plant based diets causing strokes, CVD, death etc quite the opposite. High plant based diets such as the Mediterranean cause the longest lived populations. The only crapshoot is the carnivore diet
It’s not the carnivore diet that caused her stroke, she has taken vaccines she needs to do her research.. look up Dr Shawn Baker he has been carnivore for 5 or 6 years… he is a true Dr …❤
I’ll be interested to see how this works out for you and your husband. Those meals you showed would send my blood sugar off the charts and I am only pre-diabetic. You might want to consider wearing a blood glucose monitor or CGM while doing this to see what it does to your blood sugar.
Congratulations on your lifestyle change! I hope it optimizes your health and provides you lifelong protection from future strokes. I went whole-food, plant-based in April 2023, and it really helped with my blood lipids. My total cholesterol is 120; HDL (good) cholesterol is 61; and my LDL (bad) cholesterol is 39. I am not on any medications. My husband reversed type 2 diabetes on this high-carb, low-fat eating plan, and we both lost 25 pounds. I think you are in great hands with Dr. Esselstyn, and I can't wait to hear about your new explorations in better health.
A few months back I ended up in the ER with stroke-level high blood pressure and just generally not feeling well -- all after several months of eating primarily carnivore. It scared me so badly that I committed to a primarily whole food plant-based diet after that and everything has since returned to normal. I will say that I do still eat seafood about once per week or so (usually a healthy cut of fish) and my body seems to respond really well to eating this way. I find it's sustainable, healthy and satiating. I look forward to hearing more about your journey as you move toward a heart-healthy WFPBD!
I think you should be on the diet that makes you feel your best, regardless of what other people say about it. But I also think you should know that it's impossible that a diet you were on for a couple of years, let alone a few months, causes a stroke. None of us are genetically identical, of course, so you should adapt your diet according to how you feel on it. Seafood seems to be the healthiest type of food there is, save for some heavy metal risk in certain types of it. It can also provide the zinc that you won't get on a pure vegan diet.
You mentioned your severe IBS in past videos and how carnivore cured it. Plant-based diets can be bad for people who suffer from IBS. I was plant-based for years and my IBS continued to get worse. As soon as I stopped all the veggies and fruits and started consuming more protein and animal foods, it improved greatly. I will be interested to hear if your IBS returns.
Some people do react to certain vegetables or fruits like FODMAPs, elimination diet doesn't mean it was the vegetables causing your IBS. It means you are reacting to something specific, probably dairy is the worst offender.
My husband had IBS. We switched to plantbased and it wasn’t easy for him but…after a year and a half of this change he has healed. Veggies are like a workout. They are hard at first but keep working up and you will get stronger and stronger.
There are numerous reports on PB diets completely reversing IBS symptoms and many more finally making IBS symptoms manageable for people Suffering for decades while consuming animals. Veggies and fruits are very large umbrella terms. Each person's body can have positive or adverse reactions to specific vegetables and fruits, and once you identify those and exclude those, perhaps replacing them with other wholesome vegetables or fruits that would not react the same way, you'll be set
I'm Keto/Carnivore & I'm not convinced it caused your stroke...but I'm staying tuned to your videos & your journey. I wish you Health and Happiness & I will continue to learn from you and everyone.❤

It sounds like you enjoy doing research, so I would highly suggest that you study the difference between correlation and causation. I understand how much you were affected by your stroke, but you seem to be jumping to a lot of unwarranted conclusions, as are some of the "experts" you're relying on. I'm not advocating for any particular diet and I empathize with the difficulties in trying to ascertain which one is the healthiest for you, but it's hard to see you swinging from one extreme to another. I do wish you the best of luck with your health.
That’s what I thought to initially until I really looked into the research. There is overwhelming research on the benefits of a Whole Foods plant-based diet. The carnivore diet is super high in saturated fat and causes cholesterol levels to increase. The Framingham heart study covered about 20,000 people over three generations. It found that no one with a cholesterol under 150 and an LDL under 80 had a heart attack. No one.
Thank goodness you are alive and thank you for this video. It scares me that so many people are listening to TH-cam gurus and not their own doctors. Thank you for this very important message!
Bravo to you Beth! Please keep us posted on your health journey. You are indeed an inspiration and I’m certain that documenting your experience is going to help many others who are open to hearing it. Many blessings to you and your husband!
This is why anecdotal evidence is the lowest source of data and youtube is not the place to make decisions regarding diet and health. That is also why experts exist who study this for their whole life. But people think they are smarter than them by watching youtube. "I watched Dr. Ken Berry" syndrome
@@dweeder1453 if you collect 50 thousand ppl on carnivore showing what they eat , their bloods, how they feel how is that not data? same goes for vegans youtube videos showing bloods, what they eat... its all data, alot more useful than any other data in my eyes.
Humans have evolved over 2 - 3 million years to hunt and eat meat. Our bodies are acclimated to it. We need protein and fat to survive. We are not evolved to eat plans. Our bodies have zero need for plants, carbs, or fiber. We MUST have protein and fat. The reason you think meat and fat are unhealthy is because scientists and media have been paid by corporate food interests to lie to us for the past 80 years or so for profit.
@@pragmatic111 you need to get blood work and tests done over time and adjust your diet to what works. Cut down on saturated fat foods, add some berries, nuts/seeds and green veggies. I love organic smoothies with banana/berries and grassfed whey protein and a raw egg. Nice balance too.
Not a real plant based diet and not even remotely possible. I find so many are completely lost when it comes to nutrition and have no clue what a whole food plant based diet is. ALways comparing processed crap with whole foods like beans and potatoes. The protein narrative has people stumped and confused. It is designed this way by one of the top 3 most powerful industries on the planet!
I tried keto for the longest time. Never had any success. I just went on a whole food plant-based diet today. I took a picture of my first 50/50 plate. Boil potatoes& broccoli with a non cheese cheese sauce. I follow Plantiful Kiki and many other vegans online. There's great recipes. I'm so happy to be able to eat. Carbs again, fruit. This is the way God created us in the garden.❤
I tried keto too, like five times. Finally went full carnivore, also One Meal A Day (OMAD) - and all calories consumed before noon, or earlier if possible. I figured out that I'm _SO_ insulin resistant and so forth that I had to get super strict. I'm dropping .75 - 1.5 lbs a day now, I feel great, and I don't plan to be this strict forever, but I've done everything except actual vegan (majorly unhealthy for humans) and never got past the initial 15 lbs of water weight loss. I'm down 25 lbs in 27 days and expect that within the next week or so my weight loss number will be larger than my days on the diet number. If the plant-based doesn't work for you, try what I'm doing for a month: literally "BBB&E." I've tailored the amounts of each to fit my caloric and macro needs. My one deviation is a protein shake (no milk) with it, so I have protein grams equal to my ideal body weight in pounds. And after 4 weeks of basically those for items for my meal, I'm going nuts tomorrow: A 10-oz chicken breast and half of a double batch (24) of egg salad I made with avocado to take the place of most of the mayo. It will be lower fat but I won't even need the shake for protein. Slight carnivore cheat, still WAY below the 20g of carbs keto allows, rewards my last boring 4 weeks and I'll be back to it the day after. I've come to this realization: you will have to put up with some discomfort and boredom to reshape your body. It didn't get out of hand overnight - and it does *not* want to do anything but get fat. What I discovered was that even 20g carbs was still enough for my body to be able to avoid changing back from obese to properly healthy, like I was a decade ago. Oh yeah, the same food gets boring, but "food as a treat" probably ought to be just that - a treat, at least while you're performing major renovation and repair.
I am also on WFPB No oil, no dairy, no eggs, etc. of any kind except for avocados, walnuts and real olives, not the oil. Our main meals are vegetable soup, mushroom and onion tacos, eggplant in tomato sauce, sweet potato and red lentil stew, boiled potatoes, beans and rice, big salads. I finely chop broccoli and cauliflower and eat as a salad. My salad dressing is the 321 dressing which is 3 tablespoons of ACV, 2 Tablespoons of Dijon mustard and 1 tablespoon of honey or maple syrup. I would LOVE to see what happens at the conference. I have benefited SO much from this diet but we do break the diet when we travel or when we have guest over. The great majority of the time we follow it. So happy for you. ❤😊

The problem is that you have medical doctors on BOTH sides of the issue saying very different things. They all cite studies to back up their claims. I believe the truth lies somewhere in the middle.
Well no. The medical doctors that are proponents of carnivore or keto do NOT have long term data on humans. Only short term (12 months). Thats not the same as decades of data (adventist study) on human health outcomes. There is a difference between studies and studies.

There is not a mediterranean diet. What is a mediterranean diet?, a spanish diet, argelian diet, egyptian diet?. The "mediterranean diet" is an invention.
God bless you for all that you share with us here on your channel. You were doing everything your thought was healthy/right, and still had a stroke. As upsetting as that is, it's important for all of us to know. My instincts tell me that a protein-only diet isn't the way to go. First, I'd miss the color on my plate and my tastebuds, but more importantly, 'everything in moderation' seems to always hold true, especially when it comes to our way of eating. I've done significant studying on healthy lifestyles, longevity, etc, and I would caution you to not go too far on the plant-based/low fat approach either. There are two risks with that approach: 1. The body needs the full range of amino acids, and plants-only don't provide all 9 essential amino acids; 2. The body needs cholesterol, especially the brain. It is critical to many functions, especially in older adults. Moderation is the answer - some meat, lots of veggies, and healthy fats, lots of exercise, manage your stress and find joy in every moment you can. Best of luck on your health journey!
So true. Especially anyone over 55 on a veg/vegan diet is at risk - our bodies' ability to absorb protein is diminished significantly, which impacts our muscles, joints, skin, hair, etc. It always amazes me how truly wise people from 'back in the day' were - eating iwell-balanced meals n moderation, taking walks after meals, the list goes on - and no Google, no YT. How did they know??? By listening to their bodies, it seems.@@shirlebryant9427
You are full of misinformation. Beth discussed about a year ago with Dr. Berry how her in- laws always ate everything in moderation and ended up with many diseases and so many meds that they didn’t know the names of them. She and Dr. Berry discussed at the time that was not the way to go. There are so many people that have lost weight and improved their overall health on Carnivore and keto including reversing cancer!! So many!
Hi Diana. You were so right about that. The more I learned the more I realize moderation is really not the key. The key is avoiding those heart unhealthy foods, like meat and dairy which are proven to cause heart disease.
oh my gosh thank goodness. I saw your video after your stroke and hoped you would come to your senses before something worse happened. Dr. Esselstyn is wonderful and will not steer you wrong.
Maybe two years ago I had my last Covid vaccine and booster shot. There is no research that the vaccine causes blood clots. There is research however that having Covid can increase with they call micro clots. I did have Covid, so maybe that had something to do with the stroke.
@@richardcardinale7152 stop being a clown. You have no idea what you are talking about. Go get educated rather than telling her what she went through and what could have caused it. You clearly have no scientific background.
It is called the clot shot for a reason. It is my opinion your quick and outstanding recovery was due to improved health from eating carnivore. Two ESSENTIAL nutrients for humans to thrive are fatty acids and protein, both found in the animal kingdom preferably ruminants .
So sorry you had a stroke. Many people on SAD, Vegetarian, and Vegan, Mediterranean, etc. diets have strokes also. I have improved healthwise so much on carnivore I am sticking to it.
I very much hope this will get your heart well Beth and thank you for the message to look at good quality science and at the meta studies, and not only relying on individual influencers and doctors. Looking forward to follow your journey! It would be interesting if you take your blood work now and compare it continually. Wishing you good luck and all the best!
My 40 years old niece triple vaccinated still in a wheelchair. Let’s don’t forget all the youth dying 💉 the saddest part you can’t even trust many doctors… they will stand with experimental 💉.
I definitely believe that is what happened to her. She has the look that they all have who got it. The propaganda and the brainwashing though has been immense so she likely will believe it’s carnivore even though prior to the technology of refrigeration humans a predominantly meat. They hunted and ate meat and sometimes went days without being able to eat and in cooler climates where vegetables were not available people ate meat and look how healthy our ancestors were eating bacon and eggs and milk fresh off the farm. Prior to the food pyramid being created and the falsity associated with it, there was almost 0 obesity prior to the pyramid. Yet look at the surge since the food pyramid was implemented. Look how obesity crept in five years after the first food pyramid. There is a huge paper trail of proof to support all of this. It is not the meat, but rather the high consumption of sugar and cookies and ice cream and soda drinks and high carbohydrates found in fruit juices and chips like Doritos and pastas and let’s not forget alcohol consumption that are creating these issues, not the meat.
I'm really glad you are changing your diet, for your sake. My friend and I both did keto together using organic foods. After over a year I began to feel my body telling me something was very wrong (feeling of impending doom, tingling in the arms when I laid down, etc.). I did not want to go off of keto for fear of gaining weight but I finally decided to listen to my body. The symptoms immediately went away so I thought it might be a fluke. I immediately tried to go back on keto three different times _but each time_ my body told me the same thing, 'you will die' (me specifically). Finally, I really listened and stopped. Like you, I did more research. I found that many of the you-tube keto doctors are taking certain studies out of context (I found this out by actually going and reading some of the studies they had referenced in context). I looked at studies and found pretty consistently that they show over and over that the less animal products one consumes the less overall disease and all-cause mortality. I tried sharing this information with my friend but she would not even look at the studies. Keto _can_ become like a cult-mindset. I was suprised that she would not even look at the studies. We had done keto together for over a year (maybe 15 months) when I stopped. She continued... _and died a few years later._ She passed away last year on February 1, 2023 and I miss her so much. She was a beautiful human being, inside and out. She was only 49. She wasn't even overweight...I think she started out around 122 and maintained at about 115 at 5 ft 4 for those wondering. She was the picture of health. She drank a high quality (expensive) bone broth daily by Jordan Ruben/Dr. Axe. She followed Dr. Eric Berg here on you-tube and also did intermittent fasting (followed Jason Fung for that). Again, she was a stickler about being organic and grass-fed (whether meat or butter). She was not a heavy eater. I add these details just in case anyone is wondering about whether or not organic had a part. She walked pretty regularly but did not do stressful work outs. She wound up getting cancer, TWO different kinds, both in the breast area. I had tried showing her the 'China Study' results around 2017 or 2018 but she would not even look/listen... _which was not like her._ Again, keto/carnivore can become such a mindset...like a cult. For anyone reading, please understand I am not saying a keto diet can't be good in certain situations or for a limited time. I *am* saying that a _high _*_animal_*_ protein/fat diet long-term, _that ALSO eliminates cancer fighting fruits and vegetables_ is a recipe for early death. That kind of diet (animal keto/carnivore) is *high* in cancer causing food while ALSO reducing/eliminating cancer *fighting* fruits and vegetables. I miss my friend every day. I'm so upset by all of this. Beth, I'm glad to see that you are listening to a great heart doctor. Dr. Garth Davis is another good doctor in a clinical setting who speaks about this topic. Dr. Michael Gregor is good too (going over all the nutritional studies) as is Diabetes Dr. Neal Bernard and of course Dr. John McDougall. May God bless you in your health journey. All things are possible through Him!
OMG! What a great comment. So very sorry about your friend. I got truth tingle when I read your comment that you got the message you would die on the high higher meat Keto. Everything shared about the research is true. I am trying to get this message out to others. There is too much misinformation. If you would be open to being interviewed on my channel on zoom, I would love to do that. If you would be open to this, please email me at. Empowerbeth@gmail.com. I understand if you don’t want to do this, but if you would be open to it thanks for letting me know that.💝
Unfortunately, the Mediterranean diet while better than the standard American diet does not show heart disease reversal. That’s what I am going for. I do agree that people take their diets personally, and each one can seem like a cult, but after the research I have been doing, there is truly only one diet that has been proven and repeated studies to reduce and brewers, heart, disease, and that is Whole Foods plant-based. it is very confusing and I do understand that. I didn’t realize that until I had such a negative event which caused me to really look deeper into things.
JUST SHARING, remember to watch John, okraw, who interviews his friend, David who had a STROKE on a raw vegan diet, sep24, 2015. LONG TERM RAW VEGHAS A STROKE: WHY a raw diet may not be Healthy . We watched the video twice and shared it years ago. David was a raw vegan for 16 years! Boom and boom
High LDL is oftentimes genetic. Diet and exercise will not fix this-only statins, PCSK9 inhibitors and other cholesterol lowering drugs will get LDL to safe numbers (lower than 40 in most cases). LDL over 100, which is considered normal, causes ASCVD.
Lectins present in plants can also be a contributing factor as they agglutinate red blood cells. Which Eat Right 4 Your Type covers. Many raw vegans or even vegans and those following carnivore in general don't understand we have to eat to our biochemical individuality, and launch into it head first thinking everything will be fine just because they saw someone else on the internet doing it and was fine. Then yes, problems like these can and will still develop.
Hi Beth, I'll continue to listen/watch your videos on this topic and look forward to research findings that is presented. It is important to know who or what group FUNDS a research study, which can make a difference on the outcome, IMO. Your comments don't convince me that carnivore way of eating causes heart disease or stroke, but I will gladly listen to all that you present and I will do my best to keep an open mind. Yes, please share your comments after the upcoming course/program. You are always encouraging and I wish you much success on your new plan.
It's not just a matter of the funding but how the research is conducted, like studies for example where they compare food to unhealthier items to make their food look good.
Great video. Very happy you are better and changed your diet. I never considered a carnivore diet, and I have watched a few of the carnivore TH-cam videos the past couple of weeks. I noticed many people writing that they felt great, but not one of them mentioned food that could help prevent clogged arteries, cancer, a stroke, etc. Just because people feel great doesn't mean the inside of your body is doing well. Vegetables fight against cancers and help prevent strokes. Sugar and processed food also kills.
Hi Beth!! I appreciate all you are trying to share and I would love it if you continued. We are all learning through trial and errors what is best for us so we can all live our best healthy lives. Everyone is different and we can take and choose what resinates best in our individual situations. Blessings!
Well, I'm glad you're finally listening to science and not pseudo influencers on youtube! When you first had your stroke, I told you in the comments section about how bad that diet was but you wouldn't listen. Also, you said that doctors told you your stroke was the result of the hours of traveling you had done at that time and you were not wearing compression socks and got a blood clot. You said they told you it traveled up through your body, though a hole in your heart and then went up to your brain. You also said the carnivore diet had nothing to do with your stroke. Do you remember saying that in your video after your stroke? I do. I think you even said how important it is to wear compression socks when traveling over a certain amount of hours and gave links to some compression socks you recommended. I've followed Dr. Esselstyn and Dr. Ornish for decades. You might want to follow Dr. Esselstyn's wife and daughter, who have a whole food plant based channel called "Plant Based With Jane Esselstyn and Ann Esselstyn". I'm also a fan of "Heavenly Fan" youtube channel, who is a Keto/low carb Vegan with really good recipes.

I am so happy you decided to make that change! I have been managing multiple sclerosis with a whole foods plant based diet since 2014 and have been stable ever since. As opposed to many relapses before on a standard Dutch diet (slightly better than the SAD) and with medication! If you need tips, tricks or recipes, please ask ♥️
I have been a vegetarian my whole adult life, but after a eliminating dairy and cutting back on fats I was able to go off of thyroid medication after almost a decade on it. That was five years ago. No more IBS or joint pain since the change either. I am in my late 50s and I feel better than I did in my 30s and 40s.
Try a carnivore diet for just 1 month and compare how you feel to a SAD diet. In one month you ought to notice some difference if it's really clean, like a LION diet, with your MS. I hope so. For MS you need lots of saturated fat since that is our nerves covering. Like a wire's insulation that won't function when that insulation is breaking and crumbling. The best to you and sending you healing vibes. 💓I want to also include, omit all vegetable oils no matter what else you decide to do.They are toxic from the production they go through.
@@Gesundheit888 unfortunately this is exactly what people with MS do not need! Research has proven a long time ago and repeatedly that a low fat diet is the best for MS. If you had read my comment you would have seen that my low fat whole foods plant based diet is working perfectly!
I have been vegan for five years now and it's been great for my health and energy levels. I was seriously worried about you when you were eating all that meat. Welcome aboard!
Thank you. I'm an internist/geriatrician and I watched with dismay shortly after your stroke when you announced that you were sticking with the carnivore diet. Thank you for continuing to learn more. Thank you for the video here explaining your new changes. I wish you good health and happiness. I don't think there is explanation needed for "my fat intake is higher than they'd like." You've made a giant change in your eating style; it takes time to learn new ways of doing things. I think you will be able to bring your fat consumption down over time as you figure out changes to your menus. I hope the Esselstyn course helps you achieve all your new goals!
Thank you so much for your very kind comments. Yes, I seem to be learning as I go here. Some thing about a stroke is very motivating. I have to admit. I really do appreciate all of your kind words of support. Take care and many blessings to you.
I didn't know you were on the carnivore, I hear of others, and always know it'll catch up with them eventually. I'm almost 61, have be vegan/plant-based almost 9 years. Healthier than ever, perfect labs. Good for you 🌿💚

I was a strict vegan for years and I had many health issues, I have been mostly carnivore for about 6 months. I feel better especially IBS and joint pain. I would prefer plant based for environmental reasons but I feel better. It's complicated. How is your IBS now? Thanks.
💭💭 I’m curious too how her IBS is at this point 💭💭 regarding IBS joint pain that’s a lot of SYMPTOMS a lot of women get when they hit perimenopause/menopause YEARS it SERIOUSLY sucks 💭💭 I’m in perimenopause and the many SYMPTOMS are BEYOND terrible 💭💭 I think 💭 I have IBS too it’s terrible 💭💭 I’ve watched woman I follow on here they started that meat diet and it has helped many of there menopause SYMPTOMS go away 💭💭 I’m interested in BETHS process through all this it’s SERIOUSLY scary what SHE experienced 💭💭 sounds like you’re feeling better since switching to what YOU eat NO IBS NO joint pain 🤍
My IBS isn’t perfect, but it is not as bad as it used to be prior to carnivore. It is getting better all the time which is just great. I will make a video about the reasons why IBS is so much better on carnivore. I was pretty surprised.
Good luck with your diet changes. Everyone is so bio-individual that one size definitely does not fit all. For me, I tend to shy away from the extreme ends of the scale (strictly carnivore or strictly vegan), but I do try to eat plant forward, minimizing processed foods (there are plenty of vegan foods that are unhealthy because they are also processed). The reason I still eat some meat (primarily low fat chicken, turkey, and seafood) is bc I cannot get enough protein eating only plants. While it's possible for some people to do so, for me, it is not. The sheer volume of plant food that I would need to consume to get adequate protein is simply too much for me, so I only eat enough meat to fill the protein gaps. Pls add 'protein needs for menopausal women' to your list of things to research so you don't end up trading one problem for another down the line. All the best.
Hi Barbara. Thank you for your comment and I totally agree with your thinking you need a great deal of protein as I felt that way too for pretty much my whole life. I was a bit confused by that belief due to Colin Caldwell’s excellent research that a higher protein diet actually increases the rates for cancer. I am actually listening to a great audiobook called Proteinahaulic by Dr Garth Davis he discusses the evidence that shows Americans eat way too much protein. He believes the most we women need is what the FDA guidelines are at 46 g of protein for women. He even believes that is a bit on the high side. I will be studying that issue more and presenting a video about it as soon as I get everything straight.
Hi Beth. In a previous video you said the doctors found a “hole” in your heart that likely contributed to the stroke. The birth defect is either a patent ductus or septal defect. This is a known higher risk for stroke, though usually unknown until the stroke occurs. My friend had the same presentation as you did, was diagnosed with adult PDA and will be on anticoagulants for life. Your choice of diet is your own, but my opinion is the defect had a greater role than diet. I feel the greatest impact of your experience is your supreme efforts to educate regarding signs of stroke. No telling how many people will be saved by your contribution. Respectfully, Robin
Hi Robin. Initially, they did think that I had a hole in my heart. However, they did a more in-depth test and found out the whole was way too tiny to cause any problems at all. Darn!
Glad to see that you are feeling well and eating healthy vibrant foods. Speaking strictly for myself, I could not eat such heavy amounts of meat. - it leaves me feeling sluggish and sometimes nauseated. I prefer the texture, color taste and buoyant feeling that the Mediterranean diet provides. Wishing you and Alan a healthy journey!🩵💛
I think it’s fantastic you’re taking your health into your own hands and sharing your experience. I’m low carb. I’ve heard stories about damage to kidneys and i’ll be honest it does worry me. I just feel so great. I could never do carnivore though because no one can convince me all meat is good and nothing else. There’s always a diet fad and weeding them out is so tricky. Anyway please keep sharing and I’m glad you’re okay ❤.
That's a relief. The carnivore diet is too extreme to be healthy, so I'm glad you have changed. But I'm wondering - how is your IBS on the whole foods diet? That was a driving factor towards carnivore, I remember. The pizza looked delish! Thanks for the information. Very helpful, and we're looking forward to hearing more about it.
Hi Cynthia . Always great to hear from you! Yes, the carnivore diet did help me in terms of my IBS and I will be making a video soon on exactly why the carnivore diet does benefit the G.I. tract in that way. I was very surprised by the reason. My IBS is not as bad as it used to be before carnivore, but it is still an issue. I will explain everything in that video.
Dr. Esselstyn is the best! I am so happy you are going plant based. Your health will greatly improve. I am 57, and I have eaten this way for several years. You will love it!
So happy to hear you’re doing this, Beth! I been so concerned when I’d heard you weren’t stopping Carnivore before! I’m struggling with my LDL going up, myself, and have been trying to cut down saturated fat, as I’m already plant-based. I’m looking forward to hearing more about this new diet of yours!
Thanks so much for your nice comment and good luck on your plant-based Whole Foods journey. This Wednesday, I am posting a video that shows you more in depth information on Dr. Esselen’s program. It’s really very good.
I'm almost 60 and have been on a plantbased high raw low fat fruit/veggie/nuts/seeds diet for a few years. I tried carnivore and keto throughout the years, but I never felt right giving up fruits and eating all the animals. Didn't feel right in my spirit. I feel great, my weight is lower than ever in my adult life and I look forward to all the delicious variety of fruits and veggies. It's never boring. Welcome to the plant based lifestyle!
I am so happy you are coming out with the truth!!! I went Keto for a year and had TWO heart attacks. I'm 50 yrs. old!!! I have a great life and hardly any stress. I was shocked!!! My cardiologist has written books on a low fat vegan diet. I have been on it for two yrs. however sometimes I will eat chicken, or turkey it's lean and a small amount once in while. I'm doing the best I can :) Anyways, I feel FANTASTIC!!! I forgot how much energy I had lost on Keto. I also lost 16 pounds that I did not need to lose but I'll take it, lol! Thank you for sharing your truth!!! God Bless you, XO
God bless you too, Linda! I am so sorry to hear about your heart attacks but very glad you were moving back towards a more plant-based diet. Sounds like you were truly on the right track.
you are sooo super lucky you had a ischemic stroke! You made a good change in diet, I am omnivore but I have never been convinced that carnivore diet is a heart healthy choice. I'm so glad you reached out to Dr. Esseltyn to do whole food plant based diet. Forks over knives is a documentary with a bias but if it helps you to change, than all the better!
Greetings Beth! Yes, please document your progress and what you are doing to stay healthy. I'm happy that you will be able to take the course! Love and blessings ♥️🙏
I think carnivore can be great but for short term especially if you're a carb addict. But long term, it just doesn't make sense to eat anything like that in excess. Very happy to see you have recovered well. And thank you for your video after the stroke. A lot of people also don't realize that things like heart attacks and strokes look different for women. The core symptoms are the same, but females can experience different symptoms that may make them think it's something different. My grandma thought she had indigestion, she was having a heart attack and died that night. She was 41 years old.
Also with stage 3a kidney disease I can not have a lot of protein. So these people on the carnivore diet need to stop promoting to everybody because it can be unhealthy for some people. Everybody should talk to their doctor before switching their diet and doing stuff like this or anything else drastic. I am happy she is talking about this.
I started carnivore to improve my kidney disease stage3 and it did go from 46 to 65 in 3. months. I lost wgt but don't have energy and do have daily diarrhea. So many opinions from Dr's an influencers! Some talk about the toxins in today's plants. Some say we need 1 gram of protein per lb(ideal wgt) I would have to eat 116 grams a day. I'm confused!! God give us wisdom
@@alicemeyers7639 I do not eat a lot of protein ( per my doctor, I have stage 3a kD) he who I trust again told me NZoT a high protein diet. We all must go to our own Doctor and listen to them. You can always find somebody on social media that’s going to agree with what you want to do again it Hass to be each person is different. It Has to be you and your doctor. My doctor said the best is the Mediterranean/dash diet. Which I will look into. My sister-in-law, who is much older than my brother-in-law she’ll be 100 in July. I asked her what her secret was. She said she never cared for sweets, and she only did all of and avocado oil other then that she ate what she wanted ( she was born in Italy)
Hi Alice. I believe you just need to meet the FDA guidelines for protein for women which is 46 mg. That is very attainable from plants. I will make a video about that soon.
So happy you have found the WFPB diet!! I've been eating that way for 14 years and am 64 years old and absolutely LOVE it! Love all the plant-based docs! The research doesn't lie!! Plants for the win!! :)
Been plant based for many years and it is amazing. I am younger, stronger, longer, and people in my age group cannot keep up. I prove it time and time again. Bloodwork is off the charts fantastic.
Sorry to hear you had a stroke, you look so stunning I would have never been able to tell you had one. I think everybody should think twice about what diet they’re on you’re absolutely right.
I’m very interested in hearing about your meeting with Dr. Dean Ornish. I am approaching 70 and have 5 stents. I grew up on red meat as my father was a cattle dealer. My son would like my husband and I to be vegetarians but my husband didn’t grow up eating vegetables. It’s very difficult to satisfy everyone’s taste but for my own health, I would like to incorporate more vegetables and less meat in my diet. Bravo for leading the charge, looking forward to the video. 🥰
I saw your video where you stated that you will continue with the carnivore diet after the stroke and I was shocked to the core that you would do that. So I am very glad to hear you actually saw the light. Bakance us key. You dont have to cut meat completely out, just eat lean meat and cut the skin and fat off.
Dr. Esselstyn is great. As a vegan/plant base I recently eliminated oils from my diet and stopped using the salt shaker. So being vegan alone is not enough to prevent clogging of the arteries. Happy you're doing better.😊
*To avoid a stroke on WFBP, it’s a good idea to at least get **_some_** cholesterol, from animal fats,* because it’s protective in case you get too much sodium (salt). Too much sodium without cholesterol can cause a stroke. Joel Fuhrman has good info on this. Back when I was WFPB (over 16 years), he was my favorite. ❤
You said in the video prior to your stroke video that you had not been doing Carnivore for quite a while due to meat aversion from Covid. And, when you went back to Carnivore, you were eating a dirty version with many processed items (dairy). Have you considered that perhaps being off of Carnivore for a while, or your having Covid, may have been contributing factors in the stroke? It's possible that your being back on dirty Carnivore for a couple of weeks may not have had anything to do with it. Best wishes and good health to you.
I really don’t know about that Cynthia . I just know that in all the research I am studying, anytime, you have a meat that is heavy meat, and or dairy, the incident of heart attack and stroke really increases.
So happy for you that you have made this change! Let's embrace the scientific literature and apply it to our lives. Whole food plant-based is backed by an abundance of science. I've been eating WFPB for 11 years and have enjoyed incredible health. It's good for the animals and the planet as well. :)
I would be curious to hear how the whole food based diet affects your IBS. I'm so happy you recovered so well. I totally understand your research foe better health. ❤
My IBS is not quite as good as it was on the carnivore diet, but it is improving. It tends to remove anything that could give your G.I. system a problem.
Thank you! You need to stick to what works best for you. Clearly you research things thoroughly. I’m Ketovore at the recommendation of my Oncologist. He keeps close tabs on my lab tests and they are far better than they were in the past. I think each individuals body reacts differently to the things they eat and they need to listen to those “triggers” and do what is best for them. You are lovely and amazing at how quickly you have bounced back from the stroke. Thank you for all you do!
How about a friend of mine who eats whole foods plant-based diet since childhood? She had a stroke but survived still taking her hypertension pills, etc.
@@FiftyPlusBeauty I am trying now to convince her to eat meat because she looks fragile, weak. She is anemic, forever allergies and now showing signs of osteoporosis though she's just 60+ years old. But she wont eat any meat except egg and fish.
@@thomassaddul how ironic my mom is a heavy meat eater and in her 50s she’s anemic the doctors had to stop her from donating blood literally told her “somebody needs to donate you blood “ and prescribed her b-12 shots

I've been whole foods plant based for 30+ years now with a brief foray into meat based Keto a few years ago, which worked at first but then didn't, and this year I'm back working towards a full WFPB diet ... I feel amazing and I'm already dropping some weight. Kudos to you for continuing your research and doing a deeper dive! I'm so happy for you that you have found WFPB as a way to build your health back!! There really are MASSIVE amounts of studies, books, research, stats, evidence and prominent WFPB experts that explain the health benefits of WFPB and you will really enjoy it as you discover all the supportive science that is out there to inspire, not to mention the benefits for the environment and for the animals as well. Enjoy your journey and I look forward to hearing how it goes for you!
@anniezion Whole Food Plant Based means no animal products at all. The whole food part is eliminating or using very little processed foods such as oil. You get fats from the whole food such nuts and avocados and not oil which is taken out of a plant. I learned you can water sauté and oil isn’t necessary as I always thought it was. It’s a great way to eat once you get a bit of education on how to prepare food in a different manner than you likely grew up with. It took some time to find my way but I’m so glad I did.
@@gretaeberhardt541 Thanks for yr reply. I was wondering why they do not use the term vegetarian then. How do you get enough protein on this? I used to be a low fat eater, back in the days, no oils or butter in pan and ate mostly greens and rarely meat, but sometimes fish. I wasn't well though, underweight and a hurting body. Now I am on low carb, with more fats, and some things improved (the underweight and not being totally dry in skin) but now instead lower stamina from the lack of carbs.. I guess we have to find our ways of what works for ourselves. I personally have come to the conclusion cutting out something totally isn't the most optimal way (at least on me)but moderation and common sense. We do need fats (the brain) and yes coming from greens and nuts is a really good thing, but the amount needed, can it be covered only from those sources? Anyway, Thanks again for yr reply.🌸
Thanks for your great comment and you were so right! The evidence is really overwhelming and supports the idea that WFPB actually reverses heart disease.
Yes, we mean no meat products at all and also no dairy, no cheese, no milk, no ice cream, etc. We also mean to try to avoid processed foods. That’s why they use the term Whole Food plant-based diet.
This is very interesting to me. This week my husband and I have seriously talking about starting the Carnivore lifestyle . I've been seeking guidance from God if this is good for us as I have had a small stroke about the time you did and we both have high blood pressure. Your voice and video is our answer. Thank you for taking the time to make this video and others you will make,!!!! Debra in California
Hi Debra. God bless you! I do believe God brought you to my video. I was so convinced that carnivore was healthy before I had the stroke but the stroke convinced me to actually look into the real research. High saturated fat does cause heart disease. Good luck in your choice of eating plan. Thanks for watching my video.
So glad you are feeling good! I’ve been plant based for over a decade and love it. Thank you for sharing this important information on eating a plant based diet and the health benefits. Look forward to your videos sharing your journey. ❤❤
At least you are open to possibilities. I appreciate all you’ve shared on your health journey. I would hope that you will share what you are learning and applying to your health. Thank you and I am so happy you are ok after the stroke.❤
Could you please share and put links here showing the studies that you said the carnivore communities have taken out of context ? Maybe share why you are now convinced that your high fat diet caused your stroke ?I know you arent a health clinician but id like to see them . I know you mean well . Glad you are doing well. Thats quite a scare i am sure.❤
Hi Linda. There are no studies specifically caused harm. Those studies have just not been done. Meanwhile there are numerous studies that showing a high saturated fat diet causes heart attacks and strokes. One of the most comprehensive studies is the Framingham heart disease study, which covered three generations of more than 20,000 people. In that group not one person had a heart attack who had cholesterol under 150 in LDL under 80. The evidence is there. High saturated fat kills.
@@FiftyPlusBeauty oh, my question was from your statement that the studies were taken out of context by the low carb influencers . so I was asking in your opinion what did you mean by that.
I'm glad you changed to plant-based. I was carnivore for 6 months and started having heart-palpitations. I thought I was going to have a heart attack on most days, especially in the late evenings. My left hand started to stiffen too near the knuckles and my feet were in pain. I switched to more of a vegan/vegetarian diet and all of those symptoms went away within a week.
I ate a varied, home cooked, whole foods plant based diet for 6 years. I felt fine for a few months but by the end I was so very sick - anaemic, deficient in vitamin A, hypothyroid, MS became very aggressive, hormones were chaotic, constant infections.... Do be careful.
So good to see that you are getting help to reverse your stroke risk through a low fat WFPB diet. Heard about your story from Mic the Vegan :) I wish you a great recovery and would love to see a follow up showing your results after the new diet.
I'm looking forward to seeing all your follow-up videos on your plant based diet and what you find out on Friday. It's amazing how much food can affect our health, both good and bad.
Thank God! You've come to your senses! It's not surprising that the meat doctors didn't want to talk you. They're there front and center when one of their flock loses 100 lbs while eating dead animals but when there's a bit of trouble they dissappear. Whole foods plant based diet is the way. As they say it just so happens that healthiest diet for humans is the best for animals and the environment. Good choice you've made, you'll never regret it. You're going to be guided by one of the best in the business!
So many carnivores are ex-WFPB, because plant based made them sick. There are a lot of corrupt studies out there as well. Follow the money. I was WFBP for over 16 years. Not anymore. I’m so glad I “came to my senses.”
I was WFPB for many years (over 16) and was just getting sicker. I’m now mostly carnivore and slowly seeing some positive changes. 🙏🏻 No diet is foolproof-you can have a stroke or heart attack doing either one, and you can’t blame a stroke on doing a temporary carnivore diet. One’s health later in life is the accumulation of _many_ years of what one ate. Clogged arteries, for example, cannot be reversed in a short amount of time doing carnivore, nor with WFPB-it takes time. There are plenty of people who went WFPB and had strokes. Was it the diet? I doubt it. Also, sadly, one of the major side effects of the jab are strokes, so that is a huge factor in this as well. :( Anthony Chaffee has talked about the environmental aspect of both diets. Tons of animals are killed when their land is destroyed to make room for growing crops. :( Grass fed cows just graze on the land…. I don’t believe this diet caused her stoke, and neither would the carnivore doctors, so why discuss it for 30-60 minutes? This sort of thing has already been discussed. It doesn’t surprise me that they didn’t want to talk to 50+. Regardless of the diet, I certainly hope she gets better. 🙏🏻❤️

Thank You for making this video! I was a low carb/high fat person for years! My cholesterol went through the roof. I too am a life long exerciser who was shocked at my results. I now follow the Mediterranean diet and we shall see the results in a few weeks. I haven’t had it checked in a year but…I have had it checked a few months after I switched and it was just a little outside of normal. Medication was not recommended right now. I eat meat at night but not during the day. I’m 80% compliant and so far that’s good enough.
@@FiftyPlusBeauty Ok, so cholesterol was still high. total: 222 but down from 270! Triglycerides 49, HDL: 78, LDL 134. I also asked for a test recommended by Dr. Peter Atia called APOB, & APoa.
I thought she said the heart defect was the cause of the stroke also. 🤷♀️
I agree with you a 💯
Carnivore did feel good I have to admit.

Everybody has an agenda. Follow the money.
Agreed. Answer the question.

I hope your videos on this subject helps many women....xxoo Have a great day! xo Susan & Dez PS: Vegetables I really feel keep cancer away.

Thanks for your comment. I’m so sorry for your mom.

You've never heard of plant based diets causing strokes, CVD, death etc quite the opposite. High plant based diets such as the Mediterranean cause the longest lived populations. The only crapshoot is the carnivore diet

Linda, thanks for sharing that and I am so jealous of all your wonderful health numbers! Great job and kudos to both of you!
Thank you so much for sharing that and I am so glad everything turned out well.
I will be interested to hear if your IBS returns.
plant based is how you cure IBS, carnivore is only a way to manage it. You just need the right nutrients and probiotics.
So an elimination diet worked for you great to hear that.

👏👏👏 👍!
No one.

I never understood how eating all meat and saturated fats could be healthy.

@@NuclearNympho Thank you so much!
@@Whatever-rh8zf Fantastic!!!
Could you please share what you eat for fat and protein? Thanks :)
Hey Beth, i just re-subscribed to your channel to follow your journey. Like alot of folks it is so confusing on how and what to eat anymore to be healthy. After watching this i think I'm going to incorporate more plant based foods in my diet. I must applaud you for having the courage to put yourself out there upon changing to a new way of eating because people can be brutal in the comments. Thank you for being open and honest with us because i know your only motivation is to help infotm us and not to sell a book or program. I truly appreciate that as i too, am concerned about heart disease. Cannot wait to learn more and follow your experience. God bless you my friend.
God bless you too, Melissa! I really appreciate you watching my video. Have a great day!
After my TIA in June my cardiologist suggested the Mediterranean Diet in September. I have lost 10 lbs & I feel great. I haven’t craved sugar, cut out most carbs & red meat. I love Greek foods which suites me fine .
So far my test results are positive.
My Doctor said the best diet is the Mediterranean/ Dash
@@marieleemcgill5011 yes i agree i am italian its my diet a little bit of everything variety is key and plenty of fruit and veg legumes fish and less meat.😃
Awesome!
Wonderful!
There is not a mediterranean diet. What is a mediterranean diet?, a spanish diet, argelian diet, egyptian diet?. The "mediterranean diet" is an invention.
Wow. The plant based community sure got to you. I wish you success.
Very well stated!
So many!
Thanks for your great comments. I appreciate you sharing.
Hi Beth, just curious. Have you been COVID vaccinated and boosted? Most recent booster?
Maybe two years ago I had my last Covid vaccine and booster shot. There is no research that the vaccine causes blood clots. There is research however that having Covid can increase with they call micro clots. I did have Covid, so maybe that had something to do with the stroke.

You are so welcome!
My co worker in his 40s "healthy " diet had stroke a year or so after 💉 the maintenance man also had a blood clot in his leg standard diet also 💉🤷♀️
My 40 years old niece triple vaccinated still in a wheelchair. Let’s don’t forget all the youth dying 💉 the saddest part you can’t even trust many doctors… they will stand with experimental 💉.
True. SAD is very high meat and Americans have some of the highest rates of heart disease in the world.
@@FiftyPlusBeauty nice cope 😂
Yup
I’m so glad you’re doing this
Me too, Annette. Thanks for your comment.
Vegans and Vegetarians can also be cult like I have found. Perhaps the Mediterranean diet really is the way to go!
Have you seen the doctors you mentioned? They are all skinny and look sickly. No thanks. Not for me. Sorry about your friend. 😔
Talk about a cult!! The only way to describe vegan is a cult!!!
Excellent and thanks for re sharing this timely video 🎉
Yes, exactly.... always follow the money.
It's not just a matter of the funding but how the research is conducted, like studies for example where they compare food to unhealthier items to make their food look good.
Thanks so much. I really appreciate everything you shared.
Excellent comment!
Hi Beth!! I appreciate all you are trying to share and I would love it if you continued. We are all learning through trial and errors what is best for us so we can all live our best healthy lives. Everyone is different and we can take and choose what resinates best in our individual situations. Blessings!

Blessings to you too! I appreciate your support.

My IBS isn’t perfect, but it is not as bad as it used to be prior to carnivore. It is getting better all the time which is just great. I will make a video about the reasons why IBS is so much better on carnivore. I was pretty surprised.
I have been learning that too much protein is actually not good for us. You might check out the research of dr. Garth Davis.
Thank you for your honesty and sharing your journey.
Honesty?? She's not telling everyone that she got covid vaccines and she's denying that they were the cause
Carnivore can be healthy but you can't eat Mc Donald's thinking it's ok. Clean eating is important

Darn!
@@FiftyPlusBeauty Well, that is a blessing. Hopefully you don’t have to be on anticoagulants.

God bless you too, Linda! I am so sorry to hear about your heart attacks but very glad you were moving back towards a more plant-based diet. Sounds like you were truly on the right track.
Very convincing studies about keto show that it increases cardiovascular events and also raises all cause mortality.

Yes, Alan and I have also gone low-fat plus eliminated salt.
Thank you for your frankness, and for keeping us updated. May God let you remain in excellent health!
Thank you so much! I appreciate your nice comment.
So happy to see you healed from the stroke ! Great ending
@@FiftyPlusBeautyBulshit you were eating McDonald’s meat
Thanks for sharing!
How about a friend of mine who eats whole foods plant-based diet since childhood? She had a stroke but survived still taking her hypertension pills, etc.
No diet 100% protect us from any disease unfortunately. Excellent point.
@@FiftyPlusBeauty I am trying now to convince her to eat meat because she looks fragile, weak. She is anemic, forever allergies and now showing signs of osteoporosis though she's just 60+ years old. But she wont eat any meat except egg and fish.
@@FiftyPlusBeautyexactly , your plant based low fat whole food will not add any more protection for you.
@@richardcardinale7152 neither does the carnivore diet as there is no scientific evidence that supports it ☠️
@@thomassaddul how ironic my mom is a heavy meat eater and in her 50s she’s anemic the doctors had to stop her from donating blood literally told her “somebody needs to donate you blood “ and prescribed her b-12 shots
Love this video and would love to see more like this and after your program with Dr. Esselstyn, he is very knowledgeable! Thank you so much for being so open and sharing what you are learning! There are so many opinions, please don’t get discouraged as some of us are very interested!! Thanks and God bless sweet friend!🙏🌹
Glad you enjoyed it! I really appreciate your very kind comments. God bless you too!
May I ask (I am not American), when you and Beth say "whole foods plant based", do you then mean vegetarian and no meat or fish at all?
@anniezion
Whole Food Plant Based means no animal products at all.
Congratulations Rosa! You’re a smart woman.
At least you are open to possibilities. I appreciate all you’ve shared on your health journey.
I would hope that you will share what you are learning and applying to your health. Thank you and I am so happy you are ok after the stroke.❤
Thank you so much Pamela. I really appreciate your kind words of support.
@@lindastraub7542
Great question. ❤
Same with me
I ate a varied, home cooked, whole foods plant based diet for 6 years.
Thanks for your nice comment Nancy. Have a great week!
So true!!! I am NOT who the carnivore docs want to deal with.
I was WFPB for many years (over 16) and was just getting sicker. I’m now mostly carnivore and slowly seeing some positive changes. 🙏🏻
No diet is foolproof-you can have a stroke or heart attack doing either one, and you can’t blame a stroke on doing a temporary carnivore diet.
Anthony Chaffee has talked about the environmental aspect of both diets.
I watched a talk by dr Berry and a guy in the audience told him he d had a heart attack on keto..asked why..and dr Berry completely dismissed the question....
That all sounds very awesome. Please let me know how your cholesterol check comes out.
@@FiftyPlusBeauty Ok, so cholesterol was still high. total: 222 but down from 270! Triglycerides 49, HDL: 78, LDL 134. I also asked for a test recommended by Dr. Peter Atia called APOB, & APoa. He stated those tests were a better predictor of heart disease. Apob was 79 which is perfect (normal range 60-117), and Lipoprotein A was 6 (normal range
