Just bought the Terrova over the powerdrive, really glad I did. The White one is actually the same motor with just some extra seals. It's the same with all Minn kota motors, the Terrova as well.

I made the mistake of buying the powerdrive too. Hated how hard it was to deploy and stow. Luckily for me, it crapped out inside two weeks. Basspro took it back and fully refunded me. For an extra $200 or so I bought the terrova 12v 55lb. I’m much happier with it.

Just ordered one. 24, volt, 54 inch. I have the powerdrive. It's really hard to release. Almost bought the ulterra. They seem to have alot o issues with the auto stow and deploy. Can't wait to install it and use the spot lock anchoring feature. I fish for striped bass in areas where anchoring is dangerous and almost impossible. I also troll alot and this is going to give me the ability to set a course and do whatever i need to while the boat runs itself. Can't wait to get it.

Good video. I’m in the same position deciding which one to buy for my small 14’ skiff. Any noticeable weight difference? I can’t find anything on it. You can also get the shaft cut down by an authorized dealer and it won’t void the warranty or it looks easy to do yourself.

I LOVE my power drive! Mine isnt hard to release at all, maybe you just had one that made it out of the factory that wasnt built properly. Mine takes very little effort. To each his own. I'm not really a bass fisherman, I mainly fish crappie, walleye, catfish, perch, bluegill . I can record my paths and it will move me back and forth along that and adjusts speed according to wind/current. I can put in spots I have programmed and it will take me to that spot and follow my previous paths taken. Wether im spider rigging crappie, slow trolling muskie or walleye, or bottom dragging/drifting for big cats, you just cant beat it IMO. I love all the options, esp the anchor setting. It is phenomenal if your fishing small rivers with decent current, it holds up great. But I do agree with you on the sound, it's not the quietest I've had, but it's not terrible.

Hey Roscoe, I noticed in your comments that you're able to record tracks or paths from previous trips. What fish finder are you using to do this? I have a Lowrance hook 4, but I'd love to record some of my paths with if it's not to expensive to do. My Terrova 55 should arrive is a few days.

Although 3 years old, this video is right on point! The Terrova is light years ahead of the Powerdrive. I had a Terrova on another boat, Bought a Powerdrive for my new boat. Like he did, I mounted it, deployed it once, and said NOPE! This is a POS! Took it back and exchanged for a Terrova. A Powerdrive is not for Bass fisherman that deploy it multiple times during the day. It is horrible!
