That short clip fits the 940-1, I had them send me 1, somehow they sent me 3. Best clip for 940-1 so far.
I put some CF scales on mine . Its amazing , really . Hard not to reach for it when Im loading my pockets in the morning. I usually go small sebenza , or bugout.

Nice review. As others mentioned the price in the U.S. is that high. About $95 for a Native 5, $115 for this one. Other differences: it carries smaller than the Native 5, Axis vs. back lock, deep carry vs. shallow for the Native, and better warranty service from Benchmade. I like the Native 5. For US buyers the Bugout may be a better knife for the these reasons.
I find your video educational, entertaining and useful. The only thīng that I wished reviews would add is, the knife handle grip area length. I have XL (glove) hands and that is important to me. I need 3 5/8" (9.2 cm) for my four fingers. What important to me is blade steel, blade shape, blade length and handle grip length. After that, it's the overall look, fit & finish, lock type, clip and construction (heavy, medium or light use). Thanks for your channel, keep up what you are doing, you are my top 'must see' videos.
I took my 940 to diamond and waterstones and make it 17 thousands behind the edge and put a hand rubbed satin on the blade. It cuts so so much better now. Before it was a little to think for me
The 531 has a flat ground drop point and G10. It's basically a superior version of the 530. Also ultra light... I definitely prefer it to the Bugout for the money
I got mine last week for 110$ US. Love it. Wouldn’t have picked it for 190 tho.

I can't get past the cost. I'd do a native 5 s35vn for less, or an s110v\s90v manix lw at the same cost.
I have a Native (Maxamet, bought used) and it’s only downsides are its frictiony action and not much edge in exchange for its excellent ergonomics.
I have that exact same Griptilian; it’s my favorite, but a lot heavier and bulkier than the Bugout. Probably flipplier too.
I had a 940 Osborne too, but found the blade stock too thick for my taste. Try cutting an apple with it!
They should have made a deal with Nutn and called it the "SAWC", would have been the perfect name. The "Bugout" just does't quite ring true to most peoples idea of the ideal bugout knife, although it could be perfect as a redundant or specialised component in a larger kit, or the centre piece of some kind of mini kit. P.S. The blueberry disappointment is a important coming of age realisation that prepares you for adult life in general.
Actually, to be honest, if knife sales are at all influenced by catchyness and resonance of the model name then I'm pretty sure they would sell more with the "Bugout" name than a subculture jargon acronym. Bugout is a bit of a subculture term but, far more well known and understood concept to appeal to the aspirations of the masses. But still, I would suggest that SAWC would be a more artistically true name. Kind of like how Blade Runner 2049 was a box office failure (in the US at least) but was an artistically sound and fitting sequel, except it's an masterful feature film, not a name for a knife, but other that that, the exact same thing.
The body shape seems to be in style right now, a number of manufacturers are putting out knives with overall silhouettes along the same lines. (Boker, Fox)
I've seen a few reviews and yours was the best. Covered all bases really well. Size comparisons were helpful..I have LW BMs so no sense getting this one.. There's probably better choices for the money too.....
it would be nice to see a re-review when the Bugout is released in magna-cut with your current preferences. I owned a Hogue Deka and hated it, but I really like the bugout (got it on sale for $120 USD) because the ergonomics are so muck better and it just feels more solid.
I only watch knife channels from time to time. Subbed to yours thanks to the Yasunori Mitsuda piece at the end :-). One of my absolute favorites.
I forget who it was, maybe jts knife life? But they swapped out the scales for carbon fiber and its a completely different knife... Now I want to buy one just so I can get CF scales. Benchmade needs to make a CF version asap in my opinion because it looks (and supposedly feels) absolutely amazing, plus no flex! Awesome video as always!
EDC with Aaron rogue blade works makes them. I have a set on the way. They also offer g10

imo this is one of the best looking knife I've seen this year, I love the color and the design. Still can't find one in Taiwan tho, fuck.
Small for my taste. Expensive for what you get!. IMO.
Joranba it seems that way. Over $100 and it doesn’t even have a metal frame inside just a tiny portion. Seems if your applying torque on the blade which is pushing on that tiny fame also inside a plastic handle seems like it would wear out and loosen up quickly. I don’t why people feel it’s ok to spend that kind of money on so little.
It's an outstanding knife for what it's purposes is.
I put a matching blue snake knot lanyard on mine. Adds a nice touch. The thing about Benchmade is their customer service, however I’m not sure of the customers overseas.
it's meh...ordered pocket clips and got them a few weeks later, then a year later i ordered another deep carry clip for my new 940 and no response, called them and the lady on the phone told me that they will ship the clips, but after 2 months still nothing.
mailed them again and yet again; no response. eventually got tired and gave up.
but zt is worse, i paid them $15 for 1 freaking pivot screw and they took my money but didn't ship!

I don't mind more weight if it's a good solid knife. After all I'm used to carrying around a big set of balls.
Looks like a decent knife but I prefer the 531 for something of this class.

Althought I am a fan of the native Bugout has way more cutting edge.

In the U.S. the Bugout is about $114 , but the Titanium Gemini is around $170 , so there's a big price gap between the two knives here , seems weird that they're around the same price out there. Anyway, the Bugout at under 2 ounces and s30v blade is not a bad deal hear. I think I'm going to get one . Thanks for you take on it . When's the next Dick Head Survival video coming out ? Hilarious.

USD I looked it up and 190 Australian dollars is about 137 United States dollars it's about a 40$ difference.

Duuuude c'mon man, this really seemed like a bad review but I have to tell ya as a collector myself with over 300 knives some with a very high price yet I have carried this and my cruwear para3 about equally this past year and I absolutely love this bugout! It will take some hard use too, I have put mine thru hell and it still looks as it did when I bought it.... you wanna see something funny? Take a bugout in S30V and a spydie in S30V and compare them for edge retention please and make a video of it.... just from sharpening and stropping them both I believe the bugout to be a much harder steel and suspect it will hold its edge quite a while longer than thesame steel done by spyderco!
kevin auman check out supersteel Steve’s videos on this exact topic. His very controlled, specific tests, show benchmade’s s30v to outlast spyderco’s quite a bit. Again, this is his “one specific type of test”, so it’s not an end all, be all, but it’s interesting for sure, and aligns with what you are suggesting.

Geez, this knife again, at least this one wasn't a freebie. I just don't understand this knife or benchmade and their popularity. Every vid on one makes mention of playing russian roulette with their q.c. and the too high prices for what you get, yet people love them. Is it the name value? The manix 2 in s110v($115) or kershaw dividend in m390 ($80) are both better deals to me and plenty lightweight enough.
Mt. Baldwin Do you have a Benchmade ? For me it's the lock, I have 4 and they're so smooth , easy to work and fun to play with. Yes , they're a little over priced some times, but the fun factor is excellent , for me anyway. And no , it's not the same as a Gonzo. It you don't have one ,try the Freak , now that's a great knife and a good deal.
All Benchmade knives with axis lock are garbage my mini griptilian has broken the spring twice currently broken now and it takes 3 weeks to get repaired talked to several other people who have had the same problem wish I would have bought something else for $170.

Pizzaxbandit that's pretty much all benchmade axis locks besides the anthem, gotta pay the big bucks for good springs! But at least they'll fix it for you, my 940-2 the springs broke the first week, they repaired it, but it took them 8 weeks to do it, when at first they said it would take 3 :/
