    Question: Should you level the cake when its cool before you freeze it, or can you do it after it's been frozen? And if you can when it's been frozen, should you wait till it's defrosted again?

      Thanks so much, Hermione! You can level at either point, I find it doesn't make enough of a difference to do it one way or the other.

    Simple and easy to follow instructions. I kust want to ask that do you use Cake strips? Those that help with dome surfaces? I have watched a tutorial from preppy kitchen and he says that it really helps. I would like to hear about Cake Strips from you.
    Wishing you best of health 🙂

      Thanks so much! I have actually never used cake strips, but I have heard of people having success with them. Feel free to give them a try!

      I have made some with wet paper towels wrapped in foil before buying them. I got the Wilton ones and they were great! No more domed cakes. The dome is created because the cake bakes too quickly with the outside being baked first and as the cake rises it creates the dome in the center. Highly recommend the cake strips!

    Great video! I'm definitely going to be buying a cake leveler now!
    Quick question : When baking multiple layers of cake, do you make the cake batter all in one go and put it in an oven one after the other? Or do you mix each of them only after the previous one has come out of the oven?

    • @SugarandSparrow
      @SugarandSparrow  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much! I have multiple cake pans, and I typically bake three or four layers at a time, so I just mix up one batch of batter and then bake the layers all at once. If you don't have enough cake pans for the amount of layers you want, you can still mix up one batch of batter and leave it at room temp (covered with a towel) while your layers bake.

    Love your videos. 💙. Should you allow the cake to cool or refrigerate it before leveling?

      @SugarandSparrow  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much! I always let the cake cool for at least a half hour at room temperature before leveling. The steam inside can burn if you level them when they're fresh out of the oven. Hope that helps!

    Tysm for the video!! I have a question that I didn’t have an answer for it. If i want to put my cake in the fridge should i level it before or after getting it out of the fridge ( I don’t only want to cut the top i want to make 2 layers out of one ) i will be so happy if you answered🤍🤍

      Hi there! I don't place my unfrosted cake layers in the refrigerator so I'm not entirely sure what the best order is, but if I had to guess I would probably torte them after the fridge.

    can vanilla and chocolate cakes be the same height? even if we put the same amount of batter in each tins, do they rise differently leading them becoming different heights?

    • @SugarandSparrow
      @SugarandSparrow  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Clarabelle! It depends on the recipes, but they should raise to about the same height. That's why I use the cake leveler though, to make sure they're exact.

      @@SugarandSparrow thank you so much! I always wonder what people do with the cake scraps from leveling the cakes. I know we can make cake pops, but for people who are selling cakes, do they make cake pops everytime with the cake scraps?

    • @SugarandSparrow

      @@clarabelledjapardy6401 I usually just eat them haha! I never have enough cake scraps left over to feel bad about wasting cake.
