Should You BUY the New 2021 BMW 118i 1 Series (REVIEW & TEST DRIVE) Is it a Good Car to Daily Drive?

- Is the latest BMW 118i an improvement over the previous 118i, what’s changed, and did you know the new 2021 BMW 118i is now FWD (front wheel drive) instead of RWD (rear wheel drive)? This particular BMW 118i is the standard base spec model with a 1.5L turbo engine but there is also the faster M-Sport version for those looking to get their 118 with better performance, handling and upgraded exterior M-Sport body styling. But what’s it like to drive the new BMW 118i and actually live with it as your daily driver? Is it a decent car and how does it feel driving on the road every day as a family car?
This review video is a little different to my usual as this BMW is our hire car whilst being away in Finland recently. We had the latest 2021 (F40 model) BMW 118i 5dr for 3 weeks, so it gave us plenty of time to get used to it as though it was ‘our own car’ and I thought: why not do a short review on it whilst I had the car. I hope you enjoy the video and that it may give you some insight into living with a 2021 BMW 118i if you are considering buying one as a family car or company car, rather than other reviews where thoughts and conclusions are often based on just a short 30min test drive of a press car.

Very beautiful 🤩
Hi Al, I hate that lane assistant too. This isn't a BMW joke, but on the hire car I was driving if you use the indicators it knows your changing lane and doesn't give you the feedback
BMWs have indicators..? :)
@@al-s I know right
The steering intervention is for your safety. It can be a little intrusive but the degree of intervention can be managed through the idrive system and you need to get used to how it works to be honest. If you don’t like it you can turn it off. I had issues with the auto braking during reversing a few times too. It kept emergency braking thinking there were obstacles behind but there weren’t. The amount of tech is high in this car as it caught up with the tech in the newer models when this was released in 2019.
Finland looks awesomely
Awesome*
Such a beautiful place, love going over there.
I hate the new BMW grills
