    Nicely done Sir! I don't think most Americans really have an appreciation for just how hard/fast cross races are at the World Cup level. Your POV videos and _commentary_ really bring it home.

      Thanks! Appreciate the encouragement. It is hard. Only one American even finished on the lead lap. That’s how hard it is. Ha.

    I saw an age-old GCN video on cyclocross at Zonhoven, searched for a video, and I am gald I clicked on yours. The intercut explanations are gold! Also, you are doing really well!

    Great POV and comments. First one of your videos I've seen and will be watching some of the earlier ones. Racing in Europe is a huge step from the US. Awesome you're there doing some of them.

      @@DrewDillmanChannel I have a very challenging and exciting job, three wonderful grandchildren( their parents are pretty ok also,) and preparing for several gravel races, I have lots to be excited about. But watching cross is always awesome. Looking forward to your Crit videos!

    A real hard race to end your season with. Thanks. That was both entertaining and instructive about the issues faced by a rider. Very few have the skill set to compete at that level. The scene of those crowds spread out in front as you come down the big sand slope is epic.

    • @DrewDillmanChannel
      @DrewDillmanChannel  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes. This was an awesome race to end the season at. Crowds were bonkers. A ton of fun.

    This course looks incredibly challenging and difficult. Way to rip it! Eventually you start to have some luck on those starts.

  • @camdensimon1935
    @camdensimon1935 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Serious question. In the USA races you seem to dominant quite effectively in the starts. What specifically makes the European starts so much more challenging? Thanks for your awesome videos

    • @DrewDillmanChannel
      @DrewDillmanChannel  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Starting near the back doesn’t help because I can’t really control what other people do. It becomes more about battling through the chaos than about how fast I clip in and get off the line. And I’m not really one to push the boundaries of danger (I’d rather not crash) but starting on the front you don’t have to really worry about danger at all.

    Thanks for sharing your Euro racing experience! Lots of fun from this side. Looking forward to next season. Some beer, waffles, and frits before you get going on that base training for crit season?

    Epic to see inside a World Cup race. How did you get away with filming isn’t it banned?

    • @DrewDillmanChannel
      @DrewDillmanChannel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was banned before last year but as of last year it’s allowed. Never had anyone question it.

    So many races in such a short time. Do you still feel your legs? How much higher is the idle HR these days?

    • @DrewDillmanChannel
      @DrewDillmanChannel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea, I’m definitely ready for the time off now. Surprising what a rest day sprinkled in here and there can do. But HR was a bit lower for yesterdays race for sure.

    I saw that guy running on the live coverage, and I thought jokingly, “I bet that guy started in front of Drew.” 😂😢

    • @DrewDillmanChannel

      Yep. You guessed correctly! Haha.

    • @jons5357
      @jons5357 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Better to be the broken chain guy or the almost died guy? You’ve had both this season! I guess both probably suck

    • @DrewDillmanChannel
      @DrewDillmanChannel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea. Broken chain got almost died as well. Haha. I almost died when I chain too.

    How much is down to unlucky starts vs just the other riders being super strong

    • @DrewDillmanChannel
      @DrewDillmanChannel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely a bit of both. I wouldn’t say it’s fully one or the other. Definitely room for improvement in my start skills. But near crashes in front of me doesn’t help at all.

    Amazing video. It would have been super cool to actually hear the race instead of some crappy royalty free music.
