During the race we had all the names and positions at the bottom of the screen, saw C. Mason move up at a ridiculous pace lap by lap with a véry strong finish! After this video it seems like you rode the perfect race, pulled out every meter and position that was possible in a race like this. Now fully confident to Overijsse hopefully, best of luck!

Congrats on the top ten and your great ride on the Koppenberg. My family left the Highlands (Macdonald) many years ago, but, being of Scottish decent is a little bit more special today. Toon won by riding that sandy climb and you solidified your top 20 by doing the same. Brilliant race. Better call-up and same first 15 minute/2 lap effort and a top 10-12 is in reach. I appreciate the mid-race moves, knowing how difficult it is to pick riders off one by one, both physically and mentally. I've said if before, but, you can really see the added strength paying dividends this year. After last weekend your head has got to be in a good place also. Congrats and good luck this weekend. One old crosser from Massachusetts will be pulling for you.

I understand why you would pronounce 'De Kuil' as 'The Kill' after watching the running/crawling uphill sections. This was a great race. Looking forward to the next races as you are moving up the start line order.

Great video, thank you. One question for you if possible - so much if the work in these races seems like it must be anaerobic and incredibly taxing on the body, is there anything in particular you do to aid recovery in the sense of avoiding burnout or adrenal fatigue and getting into an overtrained system during the season?
Rest is important but also a good mental state. So you aren’t going into every race super hyped and over stimulated. Most races you just have to be controlled and calm so that when it is done you can get back to recovering and training. Managing the highs and lows mentally and physically is the challenge of intense cyclocross racing.

What tyre pressure did you use there? And which tyres?
I can’t remover the tire pressure unfortunately, my mechanic sets it up and normally doesn’t tell me so I just ride it on what feels good. I was using Challenge Dune.
watching this has made me really miss cross... Road is just SO much more boring
