Epic Fishing Adventure - Trout, Crawfish, Morel Mushroom Catch n' Cook!

- The springtime fishing adventures were a blast in this one! We started off kayak fishing, then we hit the lake below the river, then we drove into the mountain pass to catch some trout and explore for morel mushrooms! I believe this was the first time I ever ate fresh morel mushrooms! We tried new seasonings and just generally had a great time! I hope you enjoy this epic fishing adventure!

Mushrooms that are older can be rehydrated by soaking in water with some sea salt added. Beautiful spots for fishing & foraging!! Lovely morels, great finds!! 🥰

This year was a mediocre year for me on the morel mushroom front. Found probably 100-150 of them. On a prime year I’ll find 1,000+. Also, those other mushrooms your dad found look to be some variety of Gyromitra. Without closer inspection it’s hard to say if they were the edible kind or 💀 kind. Great video!

Your dad was saying somebody paid $60 for a pound I looked them up online and they wanted $50 for a quarter of that. It is unreal the prices. So if you can get them for free go get them seriously. In wisconsin here we cut ours length wise like a hot dog bun but nothing wrong with that at all! Duo them in flour or pancake powder then cook in butter but everyone has their own style! Keep up the awesome vids!

hey Ace.. on the topic of frogs for trout, there's a stream near me and you can catch them on most baits early morning or late evening, but no joke if you can catch those little frogs on the bank the trout will hit them all day long.. anytime I go there and want to limit out quickly I just use the frogs, by far the best bait in that stream (Missouri)
I live in Idaho and doesn't get much better than Idahoan as far as powdered is concerned. Great video glad I found the channel!
I know you guys only had the stream but what my dad does when he goes mushroom hunting he soaks the morels in salt water for a bit to get the bugs out. Morels are very yummy. They’re really good fried in batter too!
Ace, I think it’s time you broadened your horizons! Find a sponsor and take a trip out to East Asia/Africa/South America/South Asia/ Australia etc.. and go hunting for elusive game fish. That’s probably your next step if you wanna develop further.

Dead frogs and other animals are great food for fish. As well as, fresh nuts and berries that fall into the river. If you look around your surroundings, natual bait is everywhere! Much love Ace and Me Ancient!
Also frogs love in the water, so they can be casted multiple times without having to rebait!
Dead fish are used for shellfish and chum, shellfish love dead fish that are fatty. And you csn always grind up your "trash fish" and make great chum!

The baby reds instant potatoes is my favorite, I make them thicker than normal so I can thin them down with butter and they are so good that way.

morels are best battered and fried ..we went out once this year and found about 80 in about three hours
I grew up eating morels. Most recently a few weeks ago. Just a basic butter fry is good, but it's not how I prefer. I'd definitely recommend a ~15 minute rinse followed by a flour/salt and pepper coating before frying in your preferred oil/fat. Then add a touch more salt/pepper as needed. It really is one of the greatest treats. Even one of my uncles requested it as his last meal .

Funny story... had a goose come to our salmon spot for about 4 weeks it stayed and would come and eat the bugs off our grill of our vehicles. But i just had a picture pop in my memories and the goose would stand on one foot and sleep
