Be tenderhearted. Be tender mouthed. Don't return harsh for harsh. A soft answer may restore her soul.

When I feel like giving up on her, I look to Christ and Repent. When I feel like she doesn't deserve to be treated with respect, I look to Christ and repent. When my flesh gets the best of me and I wanna just scream "TO hell with it all", I look to Christ and repent. I'm trapped, a servant to my Lord. How blessed she is that I am a slave to Christ and how blessed I am to be of Christ.

Amen! Continually turning to Christ to repent! How powerful! Not to pay evil for evil or try to win an argument or be the smart one or the clever one. The stance of humility and choosing to take the path of repentance is truly the weapon in this spiritual warfare of marriage. Thank you Brother for your encouragement. Next time my husband and I go at it...I pray that I will yield to the Holy Spirit, humble myself, repent and cling to the Lord.

    My highlight:
    1. Loves her to make her lovely. Draw your strength to love from Christ's love for you rather than her loveable-ness
e tenderhearted, tender handed and tendermouthed.

Consider the two of you as woman and man in the garden before the fall. Equals loving and talking with God. Jesus restores us at Calvary. See each other that way.

If a husband rapes his wife or is physically abusive I don't think God would want that woman to suffer for the rest of her life.

No he wouldn't, but there is always room for change, always room for forgiveness and to repent, that is what god wants. For this to become good not to just give up.

That she is an equal. A partner. That she has a mind, spirit of her own unto Christ FIRST! That submission doesn't mean servility. That as a true help meet or 'ezer kenegdo', iron shapes iron, not requiring to walk on egg shells. That there's a caveat on the submission verse.."as unto Christ:. That this applies to both partners.

Normal pre wedding jitters are not unusual. BUT above all, if you have serious concerns, pay attention. If you see, hear, feel red flags, God is sending a warning. PAY ATTENTION. He loves you and wants to protect you at all cost. I can offer 2 undeniable measuring rods; you don't marry potential, you marry what is before you. AND past behavior is an ABSOLUTE predictor of future behavior.

But of course, if your fiancé isn't a believer, or is but is very immature or not committed to Christ and his church and accountable/subject to the leadership, these are reasons to run and call things off. As you'll just be hoping he'll change when we can only focus on changing ourselves. Have to accept where people are. This is true.
But remember to let obedience to Christ and your relationship to him, and his word be the foundation. Don't look to marriage as your fulfilment but only Christ.

the most important thing any marriage needs to understand new or seasoned is perfectly explained by jesuschrist himself: peter asked, lord, how many times should i forgive up to seven times? I TELL YOU THE TRUTH, NOT 7 BUT 70 TIMES 7. every merriage in the world needs to forgive all as our lord taught us to forgive

Do you realize the premise of this series undermines the work of the Holy Spirit? You of little faith, do you not realize the spirit is here to guid into ALL truth? Only SPEAKS on the fathers authority, EVERYTHING that is mine I give to you. On earth as it is in heaven? Already? Would you believe it if I said there are still apostles? Why would you seek out wisdom through human beings or writings if you can hear the voice of-and commune with Jesus Christ HIMSELF? Alive or not? In Christ/Christ IN US or not? Pick one guys! Is God a mystery or is he PERSONAL? "For this is eternal life, to know him" that's all! Just to know HIM, not learn about him, but to know him

"What Advice Would You Give Newly Married John Piper?"
Hmmm kind Sir John Piper...how does a person who says; what is the truth according to Jesus commandments (throughout the bible); when you have loving following fans; that adores you and praises you; on every video you make? Yet your knowing...
Jesus told his disciples (and all others who become leaders); to preach wherever they go; and only the absolute truth. Regardless of what happens. And IF they will not believe you, in...Matthew 10:14 whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that person, house or city, shake off the dust of your feet. Matthew 10:15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for person, house or that city.
Thus, I must use this verse John in...Genesis 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
Notice the word "rule"...and 2 more verses...
Ephesians 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your husbands, as unto Jesus. 1 Corinthians 14:34 Let your women keep silent in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience (of their husbands) as also saith the law.
Now we must be "advised" kind Sir; that VERY few women, EVER has allowed any of these 3 verses; to come to fruition. And today, I doubt a single woman; would EVER obey those 3 commandments; from Jesus who IS God.
In other words; I believe they would go to hell; before "Any man rules over me; because NO man is ever going to tell me what to do!". Which we all have heard untold times in our lives! Sad, but true, nevertheless! May Jesus have mercy on them..
Thus I say this kind Sir: To answer your question truthfully; about a "Newly Married John Pipe"; I would say, "John and your spouse...follow EVERY word in those 3 verses; to the 'nth' degree. For if not, Jesus WILL punish both of you!". As He did in Gen 3:16 and 17 'circa 6,000 yrs ago. And that punishment is still being fruition-ed, until the END!
End of Story and I rest me case...
...In any case kind Sir, Please Pray OFTEN and Praise Jesus OFTEN; for He is the ONLY true "God Almighty"; there will ever have been. And may Jesus bless you and yours always. AMEN!
