- I made the perfect fire starter that fits in the corkscrew of a Swiss Army Knife. To light it, you only need the sun and a magnifying glass from your Victorinox SAK. This fire starter is resistant to rain and wind. It burns for a long time, which allows you to light even damp wood
great idea, but i think that could be very messy down the road.
I prefer a lighter 😂
Especially for those of us who prefer SAKs without corkscrews. 😅
A lighter, matches in a Marbles matchsafe, so many other options. It is good to know how to start a fire, but you disassembled the very thing you could you to start a fire and then spent a lot of time and energy to do the very thing the aforementioned item is designed for. SMH, seems silly.
Nessmuck and Kephart both carried match safes and I would bet spent a lot more time outdoors than most of us do.
So if you have your pocket knife on you all the time and you have this added on. And let’s say your lighter runs out of fluid. Let’s say that it’s very damp out. Let’s say that you lost your lighter. These are the reasons why you add that type of DIY. What if you are not a smoker and don’t have a lighter on you, but you have your knife and you need to make a fire?
