I did not expect to watch all 19 minutes of this. But I did in fact watch all 19 minutes of this
Not only are your restorations amazing, I must compliment you on the quality of your video production. Camera work, lighting and editing are impeccable.
Great restoration
You sir, are very talented.
Right
It’s a fake
not a fake, Ive done it with hand tools, no expensive machinery@@marianitosan9759
Wow, that’s sharp! Never use this to stab your classmates or little kitties and puppies to death. Ok, kids? I feel like that’s definitely the lesson here.
Wow, beautiful. Usually old knife restorations look tacky or off somehow, but I think you nailed it making it look personal but still classic.
A lot of restoration videos are faked
Wow, this restoration is honestly so beautiful, the design of that wood cover and the history behind all of the wood swatches is really ingenious! Never stop restoring (or drinking beer!)
Hey everyone. I want to say thank you for the continued support and for reaching 40.000 subscribers. Leave a comment and win this restored Swiss army knife. I will only announce the winner through a short video on the 18th of November. Messages as answers under comments that demand for your contact data are attempts of fraud. Please don't answer to those messages!!! I try to monitor the activities in the comments section
So happy to have stumbled upon you channel, so soothing to watch. Curious if you guys have PB Blaster or other similar penetrating oil in Germany. I use it in lots a spots for rusted and seized hardware when wd-40 isn't the best choice
please send me the knife
Also No to WAR
Give it out to patrons.
I enjoy your videos. You did a great job on the knife. I couldn't re assemble it if my life depended on it. Nice work.
When is the drawing for the knife.
I love that your restorations actually RESTORE the item to its original condition and aren't just 40 pounds of bondo covered with paint. Excellent job as always!
You sound like me . I feel the same about how alot of folks do this work . I've restored over 200 + Knives . So I'm very particular .as to how to do a knife .
Using a bunch of bondo so you can skip the hard work of sanding is definitely a bad thing that some restorers are guilty of, but there are also times when bondo/filler is the right move, and unfortunately a lot of people are under the impression it is always lazy and bad.
For example if an antique part is thin, and deeply pitted it would be better to clean/stop further rusting and then use filler to even out the surface rather than sanding the part to oblivion or outright replacing it with new parts and ruining the piece's originality. Bondo is just another tool in your toolbox that under very specific circumstances is the better choice.
40 pounds of bondo? How big are your pocket knives?

Young Man You did a Great Restore, Looks awesome God Bless
Beautiful work, a real work of art and skill. Anyone who wins this will have a treasure for life
A beautiful restoration for a classic “multi tool”. The colors and textures of the woods are arranged nicely. This is something anyone would be proud to use and show off!
This channel really deserves a lot more subscribers! I'm always blown away by these restorations, and this one is no exception. Most people would have tossed that knife in the trash, but you turned it into something beautiful. Keep it up!
Si...... solo alguien con talento y paciencia puede obtener esos bellos resultados.

What this channel needs is a manicure. The entire thing is so beautifully put together. The dirty nails just kinda takes away from it.
It’s really a gift to watch an artist as they go through their process. You truly have amazing talent! Thank you for sharing this incredible restoration with the rest of us!
Absolutely exquisite, I found this very relaxing, probably because you did all the work. So gratifying to rescue something old and in bad shape and making it useful again. A piece of art. It’s a credit to you, worthy of a cold beverage. Stay safe 🙏
Beautiful wood work. It’s so nice to see a restoration with more than just metal working skill. The sentimental nature is wonderful as well. Excellent work!
its always great to see how old tools and knives are getting a second chance to shine
Finally some actual restorations! You really care about these objects you restore, it's very uplifting to watch!
Отлично отреставрировали нож,вдохнули новую жизнь в старичка!😊Плашки получились огненные!🔥
Instantly a new favorite channel of mine! The bloodwood provides the flair, and the whole thing is an appreciation to a deep idea that anything is possible, no matter how broken you think you are.
Just beautiful.
I have to say yours has totally become one of my favourite channels. I’ve been following you for over the past year and it’s been so great to see how it’s blossomed. Great work, friend!!!
Mesmerising work as always. I really appreciate your spot on craftsmanship and awesome humour! Very grateful you share it with everyone.
When I was a child, I was playing with a Swiss knife of my fathers'. I had not handled one before. I had the main blade out, and went to close it, and it was hard to close. It finally flipped closed - directly onto my thumb! I still have the scar now at age 38.
I love your channel and work and beer reviews, it is a fun combination and I always look forward to your next video.
The combination of colors on the handle is exquisite! And is such a cool thing to have different wood from your different projects… nice restoration!
Rally nice job. Enjoy the significance of the different woods used in the scales. Whoever wins this will be lucky to have it.
This is what I call REAL craftsmanship
What a beautiful work! The combination of these types of wood made the difference! I almost cried watching this video because I remembered a pocket knife of my grandpa that passed away in 2018 and we were so close to each other.
I follow a few restoration channels, and I’ve looked at many others. What sets your work apart from ALL of them is the creativity you apply. It’s what makes me look forward to each video. My young daughter is starting to get into restoration TH-cam. I’d love to be able to gift her this knife one day! (She‘ll have to wait a bit longer for the beer though.)
That sounds nice. I'm crossing fingers. Thank you so much for the feedback
Watched with my daughter. She was not convinced to start with but was very impressed by the end.
This was an amazing video. It really made me sad because my granpa carried a swiss army knife with the wooden handles. It was very old. But when he passed away, it remained. And unlike us, a knife can be reborn. Thanks for making this video. It touched me.
Your work on this is closer to fine art. I love your ability to be so talented at many different disciplines such as metalwork, woodwork, plating and finishing.♥️
I think that probably the best part of this restoration is the history of all parts. Given the choice of quality used over new, i’d always go used. I love to hold wood in particular knowing its been held and crafted before. I love old watches for the same reason. Never having had a Swiss army knife, this old gal would be delighted to own this one - or buy any other you restore in the future. Tastefully done.
I want to say you’re really talented, but that would undermine how much skill you have. Fantastic video as always man!
I enjoyed every single minute watching the restoration, it is amazing.
I am a bad sleeper and whenever I lay wake for too long, I love watching your calming videos to free my head of all the thinking that prevented me from falling a sleep again. Thank you so much! Continue the great work!
Congratulations on reaching 41,300+ subscribers! This proves that the things you do are great to watch, and always highlight your skill with metallurgy, woodworking, and restoral processes. The thing that impressed me the most in this episode was the making of the broken copper plates. You not only produced exact copies out of a copper sheet, but you nickel plated them as well for authenticity, as well as protection! I admire that you chose a multi laminated handle for this knife. This gives the finished knife a distinct personality, and uniqueness. Well done! I hope your subscribers continue to grow as the years pass. NO TO WAR.
That’s simply beautiful!
I love how this touches so many skills, work of art.
I love the way you restore things and use old materials from your previous projects it means a lot.
Could watch this all day, lovely work! The wood blend is just gorgeous.
Outstanding work as always. The way the new wood coverings were made gives it a ton of character. Great job!
If I hadn’t seen this with my own eyes I wouldn’t believe it. Outstanding craftsmanship.
Very well done. You have a great way of showing the different steps in restoring without making the video drag. Thanks for the content, much appreciated
Actually, I think it is you who is supporting the many of us as you transport us into a realm of craft, care with materials - with positive messages of longevity and giving new life into these projects as the present themselves. Thank you.
This gave me goosebumps. Thank you for this motivational feedback
Good things to you.
I have an original swiss army knife in a similar model to this. Means a lot to me. Brings a smile to my face to see this restored. Love to see your unique wooden pieces put to good use. The blood wood looks amazing. Well done.
This is a great example of the best use of the internet. Learning interesting crtsvand crafts.
Very impressive and highly entertaining, not to mention the quality of your work. you also have a well stocked work shop, all the tools you need. I look forward to more from you, thank you sharing your work.
Welcome to the channel Stuart Drakley many more projects are already waiting for you
This is the most beautiful swiss pocket knife I have ever seen. And I have seen a lot. Greetings from Germany!
Beautiful as always
The part I like the best about watching you is not just your skill with the restorations, but your ability to see the potential in a piece of wood that others would just throw away.
I definitely agree with you about the fizz in the beer, just the fact that it didn't produce a good head was enough to tell that.
Very Impressive restoration, I was shocked at the before and after. It looks beautiful!
This is amazing! I remembered exactly the same knife I used to make boats with as a child.
Beautiful. I dont even use knives, I just wanted to tell you what wonderful work you did.
Beautiful job there, must be very old, as I do not think Victorinox has made wooden sheathed knives for a long time, but still the classic look on it, and a great job on fixing it as well. I have a similar one which I used regularly, till the knife itself wore out, and the clip for the lanyard wore through. Repaired that with silver solder, but eventually it had to become a drawer piece. Aluminium sides, with the NATO issue number on it, the proper military version. Great knives, and that it was still so sharp after so long in a field is testament to the great design and good material choice. Your choice of replacing the wood with the same is great, though you really made it shine with all the colours chosen in the selection of wood used. A top job on this one, showing your attention to details, even in small parts.
Thank you so much for this detailed feedback and your story as well
Did you choose to stabilize the wood first, or not an option?
Love the fact you used wood scrap from past projects for the scales; That's some palpable storytelling right there! And it looks like a bad-ass coral snake! Amazing job
A beautiful knife. Anyone would be proud to own it and show off your talent. Cheers!
Its a labor of love. being a knife guy, its not for resale!!! just to show what is possible with passion, and the knowledge and the right tools. Loved it!!! Rick
As always you have done masterful work! This really pops and would be welcomed by anyone. Love the scales so much.
Outstanding save and restoration, Dr.! Your choices of the old wood were spot on, especially the 400yr old oak (richness of the grain) and overall the scales are beautiful and well fit. Always a treat to see what is possible to restore something so dead with care and attention to details. Thanks for all you bring to those who appreciate precision and integrity of restoration...and a good story! Cheers!
Ein wunderschönes Stück! Jeder Arbeitsschritt perfekt. Der Holzgriff ist einfach eine Freude anzusehen.
Beautiful restoration, you made it look brand new without losing any of its original, rustic charm. Top stuff 👍🏼.
It's sad to see these things in such bad shape beforehand, and so lovely to watch the care and expertise you bring to their restoration! Much love from Scotland!
The work on the scales is beautiful ❤️. Nice job all the way around. You are truly a gifted craftsman. Thank you 😊👍
I watched this to help me go to sleep. It did the opposite because it was so interested and cool to watch. Beautiful work.
Wunderbare Arbeit ... bin vor allem von den Griffschalen begeistert.
First of all that was a really cool restoration video. I also have a couple of old knives at home that I got from my grandpa. You inspired me to go to my workshop and start restoring my own knives. Thank you very much!
Beautiful restoration, thank you for sharing it with us. I love that you gave this knife a new life it deserved. Take care my friend. 🙂
It is amazing to see the before and after pics. Great job!
That is one beautiful piece of work. Does the heart good to see that these knives are being saved from the lanfills and given second chances at life
What a nice work-especially the scales! You deserve much more followers, man.
One day maybe. But the TH-cam Gods do not appreciate the long time I invest in each project
@Not Terrible Restorations your hard work and patience you will see fruits of, my dear friend.
Wonderful work on the project and its chronology per usual. Thank you for sharing these restorations with us- we always look forward to them!
Wonderful work. Beautiful job.
I subscribed immediately because of your excellence!

Handsome restoration. Thanks for taking us along!
Awesome job! Mister Patina Junior would love it some day 🙂

It's great to see you back after so long! Splendid restoration as always. The bloodwood looks like a jewel!
I know you have long ago given away the knife, but I just want to compliment you on your outstanding talent! You have breathed life back into that knife...and the handle is a work of art! I have subscribed to your channel so I can see some of your future projects!
Beautifully done!! Your attention to detail is excellent!! Fantastic Knife!!
Watching your videos is the most relaxing moment of my day, we really appreciate the passion you put into making them.
Seeing a man shift so effortlessly between metal work and wood work truly amazes me and, as a fellow diyier, I also feel a little bit of envy😅
You did a great job, I watched this entire video and I don't even restore items, but it was incredible, I love the wood design, great job sir.
Glad you enjoyed it!
there is nothing more german, than interrupting a video for a random beer tasting ;-D
What an amazing example of great workmanship. Very well done! It is fantastic when old things are not thrown away but resurrected instead.
Beautifully done. Crazy to think that someone else probably lost it on the field years ago and that it has been found and restored.
So many ways of doing things I haven't considered before. Really interesting and helpful. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful Brian!
No to wars but yes to knifes
I love this kind of stuff. People have asked me why I take so much time on a "crappy old knife",,,well, here's the reason why.
History must be preserved for centuries, for millennia, and it is especially important to preserve it with warmth in the soul and heart.
Those covers got more TLC than I did my entire childhood
Hope you've been getting some since adulthood.
Wow. Same club.
Beautiful work, man. I love the handle you did for this Swiss pocket knife. Can’t wait for the future projects to come 😄👍
Brilliant restoration.
Fascinating to see de-construction and then the amazing process of fitting them back together successfully. And a creating beautiful piece of art! Must be sooo satisfying!
Excellent work, especially the handle! I like that you are careful about keeping your excess wood pieces and not just throwing them in the trash, like so many other restorers.
That's a real piece of work ! Amazing, I watched the one about the kitchen aid as well ! Nice work !
Fabulous idea regarding the wood. The combination of woods was excellent.
Simply outstanding, I particularly like the choice and finish of the woods
Wow! The final effect is incredible. The blades were in surprisingly good condition, except for the crack. Swiss knives are really robust.
Whoever assembled the original knife in the factory (how many decades ago?) would feel so warm and content inside to see this restoration. Beautiful job.
That was very enjoyable. Everything should be restored. 😊❤❤
Wie üblich prima Arbeit und es ist immer mega entspannend dir dabei zuzuschauen. :)
Красиво получилось. Деревянные накладки из разных сортов дерева - это прям отлично
…пород дерева
That’s a beautiful knife sir. Watching you work was a pleasure I’m 62 I know craftsmanship when I see it and it’s glaring on this job.. the knife turned out so beautiful I just subscribed.
What a masterpiece. I am not a knife person although I have a couple of victorinox Swiss knives, this is superb and I would be proud to own such a knife.
I like to think that the man who once built this knife would be very sad to know that it was once lost and "buried" for years if not decades. And I am sure he would be very happy that it is now back in excellent condition to do its job for decades. A fantastic piece of work. It reminds me of my pocket knife which I got as a boy. The handle was made of deer antler. Unfortunately I lost it. 😢
Dude! Well done. Whoever gets it, the important thing is they have a knife that's been cared for and nurtured with detail. Those are always the best gifts. Congrats to whoever gets it. A great family tool with a history and story.
