@@jamesasher9810 yes….. yes it was… we have another blue ZR2 arriving tomorrow and we’ll be installing. Corsa intake into that one. We’ve used Corsa in the past and it’s MUCH easier to install. Thanks again for the feedback!
@@jamesasher9810 I would recommend the K&N my friend……. It just kicks ass! The dry filter on the Blackhawk is just so much easier to clean with a simple air-chuck vs oil. It’s not that bad to install and you’ll be happy!
Yes, I loved the ATAK we had previously on another 6.2L truck except for the price. I was looking for a less expensive way to give me all the great sound of the Borla without spending so much money! Since the damn exhaust is hidden under there and I can’t even show off the Carbon Fiber tips, I thought we could try this way. So far, I love it!!
I tried to send you an email but it came back as email address not found. So i'll post it here. I have a ZR2 as well and mine has a right front turn signal issue where periodically it will stop working. When this happens the interior right turn indicator and the right rear tail light will hyper flash, along with a message on the main instrument panel to check right front turn signal. I’ve had it in to the dealership twice, and they can’t get it to duplicate. Once it does it, I shut it down when i get where i’m going, for 30 minutes to an hour, and when i start it up again, it seems to correct itself, and it only seems to do it once a week or maybe once every other week. My neighbor is a department manager for one of my local chevrolet dealers, and when I explained the issue to him, he then ran it by his service manager, and said that they currently had 7 ZR2’s experiencing the same issue. They called Chevrolet for guidance on how to fix it, and GM said to replace the main instrument panel. Apparently it’s 3 hour fix. You may or may not be experiencing this with your truck. Lucky you. I’m just sharing my experience with mine. It goes in on Tuesday for diagnosis and parts order. Keep up the great ZR2 content.
Borla sounds way better may no be as loud but the actual sound is way better. Straight pipe/delete just sounds so generic like every other truck on the road. Borla has a unique aggressive sound. If u delete those resonators it would be crazy loud
Ordered the Borla 400844 for my new ZR2 after watching your video (and also the K&N Cold Air system). Once the muffler gets here I am taking it to my local muffler man to install it for me. Do I have them remove the flapper valves? And leave on the resonators? My knowledge of exhausts sucks, pardon the pun. Thank you for the videos and inspiration!!!!!!!!!!!
You’ll notice on the image of the muffler we cut off that the flap valve is removed with the muffler. Leave the factory resonators on as they work just like glass packs and will give you that great “rasp” sound you will want during wide open throttle. Enjoy and please tell your friends to subscribe as it helps us to create new stuff!!!!
After driving it for several days now, I have to agree with Steve. We like it so much, we will be installing it on another Blue ZR2 we have arriving in a couple days. I’ll post some videos on it and thx for the feedback 👍🏼
Awesome video! Do you think by adding bits of meat in the end of the muffler it would give a different sound or hinder performance? I like adding bits of meat to all my exhaust personally.
Won’t work on ‘22 and Pulsar LT will not work on it either. Just drive in manual and keep it in 9th gear or under and the DFM will be disabled. Also use tow mode to keep higher shift points, you’ll love it.
@@rant-n-rave7816 I’ve got a 2022 LTD Custom Trail Boss with the 6.2 and the Pulsar LT has been working great for me. I’m not sure about the refresh models or the ZR2 though; the pulsar might not work with those like you said
Why does the Borla atak sound so much louder on a mustang 5.0? I wanted something good for daily driving and yours sounds good for that but I’ve heard it sound crazy loud on other cars. Which crate muffler did you get?
You have to remember I left the resonators on which are like glass packs, if you’re old enough to remember those days. I’ve had Mustangs and on my Shelby you need to go with different models. You will want to check out the Borla website and look for the sound you want. Don’t compare Apple to oranges, look at your mustang with your engine setup to get your correct sound.👍🏼

Nope, both trucks no drone. But don’t drive in auto with AFM crap on. It sounds like shit. Put truck in manual, for around town drive in 5 to 7th gear with tow feature on. At least you will sound like a manly man driving around even if you’re driving a foo-foo coffee drinking chick designed lemon….. both of my ZR2’s were such a disappointment man…… Chevy really let us down this time. Watch my other videos and you won’t believe what we went through
Yup, only way to drive it really. Tow mode holds the shift points and allows truck to actually drive like a truck and not drive like a Nissan Leaf…. You also need to put it in manual mode and drive in 7 around town and 9 on fwy to avoid cylinder shutoffs

The borla ATAK has 3 inch inlet/outlet when the pipe is 3.5 inch. Any big deal with that?

Take them rear resonators off to open up that atak. I know I'm late lmao
Install the range tech too delete your dfm..so you have a v.8 all the time and motor don't blow

Without the resonators, that crate muffler is loud as hell.
I agree. Remove the rear resonators and it should really wake up that muffler.
