This motel looks nice. We are always on the lookout for inexpensive lodging options near Disneyland since even the "inexpensive" option of the 3 official Disneyland hotels is still really expensive. The location of this one is some prime real estate being so close. I don't like hotels charging for parking... but unfortunately that is becoming more and more common in resort areas. Thanks for sharing this room tour with us!
We aren’t huge fans of extra fees at hotels either! We can think of a few that still have free parking (well, they had free parking before covid, not sure what will happen when they reopen).
We remember when the paradise pier hotel wasn’t much more a night than the hotels on harbor. This was before 2012. Lol.
The location of the Tropicana is SO convenient! We also loved that they had a convenience store too. Plus we slept really well, which is always so nice!

You are 100% correct on the Tropicana being one of the closest to Disneyland! We stayed at Fairfield on our first Disneyland trip, ever since we’ve been to Disneyland I’ve wondered about staying there, thanks for sharing this helpful info❤️😊😍

@@jesshavinfun3547 Us too! Last time we went to Disneyland was the weekend before Thanksgiving 2019. We were supposed to go the weekend it closed.
Fantastic location for this hotel, definitely the biggest plus point in staying here!

I think at some point (especially if Disneyland doesn't open anytime soon) we will be doing a deeper dive into each of the hotels. This ranks up there as one of our favorites.

Great video! Between this one and the best western plus Stovalls which is better?
It really comes down to budget and how far you are willing to walk to the parks. Tropicana is about 5-7 minutes to the gates and Stovalls is about 15-20 minutes. You really feel that walk at the end of the night. If your feet are hurting you might want to rideshare to Stovall's. There is about a 50 dollar a night on average difference in the price.
We have stayed a number of the BW but have not stayed at Stovall's and we can't comment on the actual rooms. That being said, the family that owns this chain of Best Westerns have amazing customer service. We are planning at staying at Stovall's in the future but would not hesitate at staying at any of their BW properties.
I hope you guys could check out the Camelot inn and suites. It's right next to Tropicana and I've been torn on what to book for the next trip because they're right next to each other and about the same price :)
We actually have reservations to stay at the Camelot for our November trip. It will be a bit before we stay there but we will have that video out.

Thank you for the helpful video! Quick question, which floor did you stay on and do you think it'd be necessary to request a top floor room if we would mind hearing footsteps above us?
We stayed on the second floor on the trip we filmed this video. We have stayed there one other time before we had the channel and don't recall noise from the room above us. There will be your typical motel noise from suitcases rolling in the walkway, people walking by, and cars in the parking lot. The floor felt solid when walking and you shouldn't hear many footsteps. However, these are older motels and we always recommend staying on the top floor if you are noise sensitive.
I went over to Tripadvisor and searched for footsteps and noise to get a consensus and only spotted one review where someone complained about noise. Most others experienced what we normally experience staying at the area motels, noise in the morning when people go to the parks and noise later at night when the parks close. Other than that things are mostly quiet.
I am very sensitive to noise and I had an enjoyable stay at this motel. I hope this helps and let me know if you have more questions. Thank you for watching and leaving a comment. -Jim

Hey guys! So here’s some minutia for you, the week I plan to come M-F in Nov there’s a 10k person realtor convention T-Th. What, if any, affect do you think this would have on availability for motels I’m looking at within 1/2 mile or so of Harbor entrance? Doesn’t seem like a huge convention im trying to decide about just reserving something now or waiting a bit, as prices tend to improve some, a little closer than 9 months out…
Ohhh. It seems like when there’s a bigger convention, rates go up quite a bit and rooms can be harder to find as the dates get closer. If the rate you are looking at is refundable, we would book now. Then, just keep an eye on rates as your dates get closer and see if they get lower. If they do, then maybe try to call and see if you can get the lower rate. Or cancel and rebook. We usually try to book our hotel as far in advance as possible. Then keep an eye on rates. Hope that helps! ☺️
@@AnaheimParkTourist Thanks! Yes, I agree and just got off phone with Tropicana - you can cancel or rebook at better rate up to 48 hours prior. Best rates currently, are direct thru them and I can also request 3rd Floor etc. Booking Trop at $219 + tax for Week of Nov 13 😁. Jim, Tropicana wins‼️

How are the beds? I’d hate to book for a week and have beds that aren’t comfortable. Thanks!
We remember the beds being comfortable, on par with larger hotel chains. We both had a good night sleep. The beds were not hard nor did they sag in the middle. We were happy with them. Of course, everyone has different tastes and that is why I compared them to the larger chains. The most comfortable bed on Harbor right now is Howard Johnson.

Yes, we stayed at the Best Western. One of our goals is to provide hotel tours in the Disneyland area.
Price
We paid about $150 a night for this room. I don't believe you can book this room for under $250 a night now. I just went to hotels.google.com and searched a couple of random dates and the rooms prices vary wildly some weekends the hotels are $250 a night and other weekends upwards for $500-$700. Depending on the dates, prices can be completely insane. We do use a booking service from govx.com, ID.me, and have used workingadvantage.com (we no longer have access to this). The prior two have certain requirements to join but can offer decent discounts on the area hotels.
anyone know what the fold out twin bed is like?
We would think the twin would be more suitable for kids rather than adults. Our son slept on it and didn’t find it the most comfortable unfortunately. Thank you for watching!
