So many parallels to my own experince. In a 9-5 IT Governance role for large financial. With just a little DIY experience, I took on my own large garden landscape project. Was such hard work, but satisfying honest hard work. Learned new technical skills, made mistakes like double handled 20 tonnes of Type 1! However got so much satisfaction and pride from building something tangible and made to last, rather than pushing governance policies around no one is really interested in! Now working laying new front drive, then new kitchen next. Not made rhe leap like you to a complete career change, however formulating a plan in next few years to transition to buying new primary residence, do it up and sale it. So thanks for posting your content, I have the bug too. 👍
Good for you man, I was in the same boat used to work in finance and had a young family, until I decided to rebuild my shed then found I enjoyed that a lot more. And so became a joiner and never looked back. Takes real courage to do what you’re doing, keep it up!👏
