My co-workers and I helped to clean the Maggie house a few years ago. The momma's all get to live there, stay safe and the help they need. Maggie's is a wonderful organization, and one of the few that I think is actually legit.
@tycetycebaby Yes! Goodwill here prices things pretty much like Goodwill everywhere else. However, not too far from Goodwill is Vapor, which I think is local. Their charity is helping get infrastructure like clean water, etc., to third world areas. I think you'd probably give them high marks for vibe. (And both of the BQ places I mentioned are within a couple of miles!) Next is the Salvation Army store; there are several locations. Not much for ambiance, deals are nothing to crow about but generally okay. Small town stores here seem to be the best places. Not much for vibe but definitely that's where the deals are. One that I like is "Earthly Treasures," especially if you go on a Monday. They have the color coded discount system that a lot of thrifts have, but on Mondays they have the 25-cent color. A great one for sourcing, but it's at least a 30 minute drive from the beaten path. Also, America's Thrift Supply (and Stores) is based in Birmingham. You can order online and pick up at the ATS warehouse. There are lots more, but those are some of the ones I like!
@tycetycebaby So, a local thrift actually has prices that I would call astronomical, when talking about thrift stores selling donated inventory. I made a short about it, do you mind if I share a link to it here?
When you asked if "maggies thrift" supports a charity, you didn't listen to the answer. They aren't connected to a charity, they ARE a charity. Maggies thrift is part of Maggies house, the first shelter for only women and children in Phoenix. They specialize in helping pregnant women get away from abuse. They are angels on earth and deserve all the love and support 💗
I donate to The Humane Society Thrift Shop on Cave Creek Rd, north of Cactus. - on the east side. GO THERE!!! They've got some neat stuff and they're really friendly!!!
Your channel/ episode was suggested to me today, it was fun to watch you two! I’m a native here in AZ. My suggestion is to try Mesa Thrift Store on Main Street, I’ve been going there for 25 years as I was a young single mom of 3 needing to buy schools clothes for my kids. They’ve always had great stuff, then and now.
Next time you’re in AZ, try Desert Industries thrift stores (the best one is Gilbert location). And if you like vintage antiques, do Antique Mall in Mesa. And Savers in Mesa
@@tycetycebabythe Gilbert location which is on Williams Field and Val Vista! There is a Mesa location on Alma School and Broadway but I think the Gilbert one is a little better.
Yall missed some of the best thrift stores!!! Next time you come this way, I’ll show you where the winners are!!! Just found this channel and I love it!
I also go to Joes BBQ for my birthday shoutout to both of you!! Yes everything is getting hiked up so high in thrift stores here!!ugh! It’s difficult and hard to see
Love me AZ thirt stores it’s my back yard and front yard playgrounds. It’s tough yet very rewarding after a strategic hunt. Best yard sales in the world I’ve seen so far can’t complain.🥰🌵🧸🌵
I donated a gentle used highchair to Maggie's Place after my granddaughter outgrew it. Maggie's Place helps pregnant women who need a safe place to have their babies. It was my first time in the store. And for 5$ I was able to buy 80 children's books for my granddaughter.
@@tycetycebaby yeah they have become more overpriced but personally I think the smaller “mom & pop” thrift stores have the same prices with a quarter of the inventory. I mostly go to goodwill bc it’s closer but I’ll make a trip to savers every now and then just bc 😅
People/places that list their stuff high because it’s on eBay for a certain price are idiots-if they want that price then maybe they should take the time to list their stuff, wait for it to sell, pay the shipping, etc. That’s why it’s more expensive than getting cash on the spot. Duh.
I just wish they’d understand that when people go out of their way to go to their store, it’s not to get something for the same price they could have bought on their phone with a few taps.
And that's why the Blue Balloon is now closed. Unfortunate business practices, delusional and rude operators. There are a ton of great thrifts in mesa/chandler.. but I stay out of phx personally :)
The owner of the shop that flipped to the bird should’ve absolutely been called out. People are allowed to have their opinions and what she did was extremely unprofessional. I would not shop there simply because of her Unacceptable behavior.
There's no excuse for the Blue Balloon to get offended. If they want to get offended then they aren't as proud of their products as the prices indicate. They are responding to you with vulgarity because they feel shame. You had given the store an opportunity to get exposure and THEY looked like crap, don't feel bad about it.
The nerve of this guy, he's a reseller and didn't find anything good here, well you people flooded the market. I'm glad that women gave you the hidden bird, you resellers are beyond entitled and ruined thrift stores for others.
Didn't that lady ask you not to film in her store? And did you film anyway? That's not very respectful, and that's what gives you tubers and Resellers a bad name. I was gonna follow you. This is the first time i've seen you but i'm gonna choose not to.
I cook goodwills all day long. I’ll Hit 10 in one day and come back home with thousands of dollars in free inventory. Ain’t nothing those bums can do about to either, they try to finesse me? HA. I finesse em for real Right back . Love Ya
Okay, “Here we go again” wins points for the owner being so cool 👏🏼
She was great!
With the offended woman, if what she was doing was actually working for her, and business was booming, I don't think she would have been offended.
Probably right
So fun to feel like we’re traveling along side you. Great finds in AZ 👏
Look forward to this series!! Excited to see where you’re headed to next
Goodwill needs to change their name to Bad Karma.
🤣🤣🤣

Wearing the merch at the end!! That's awesome
Had to. Super comfy haha
Happy birthday Haley! Yes, everyone loves BQ 😋 If y'all come to central Alabama, you have to try Jim & Nick's, and Dreamland.
Thanks so much! I’ll tell her. Alabama sounds fun! Do you thrift out there?

Goodwill grabs the good stuff to sell online themselves.
Yes! I just did a video where Goodwill takes their best donations
Next time in Phoenix, try White Dive Hospice Thrift. There are several.
Sweet! Thank you 🙏🏻

Loved this! The blue skies in Arizona are calling my name 😍
