Growing a beard has made a incredible difference in my life. I am 52, I had a off and on goatee for about 5 years. I never used any product on my goatee ever. I always used the same soap for my face, body an hair when I could get away with it. Late July 2020 I decided to grow a beard. This time I did my research and not only am I treating my beard but I am also trying to use the best face, head hair, and body products I can. Thank you Dan for everything you do for us on TH-cam. Your videos are my main go to videos when I need help. .
You are the God of us "bearded guys." You are, as always, so honest about the products you do or do not recommend. Thank you. Those interested in selling beard products definitely should listen to what you have to say, period (oh, and Sam, too).
Dan, thanks for all the education that you bring to this community. Before my beard, I probably wouldn’t have batted an eye at using any product with ingredients like this. Since growing the beard, I’ve tried to become more aware of what I’m putting on and in my body. It’s amazing how many chemicals we ingest every day that we were never meant to, because companies put them in as filler, preservative, etc. I’ve tried to eliminate a lot of that from my other body products and food. Thanks for taking one for the team with these particular products and for the no nonsense positivity you bring to every review.
Your the man taking one for the team! I started with some bad products and then found out what good ones really do for you. Since then because of being conscience of what I'm using and doing to take care of my beard. I'm drinking more water, taking better vitamins, reading more labels of things before buying them I've found natural bar soaps that don't dry my skin out like store bought ones would. Cold water rinsing has helped with dry skin after showering and leaves me more refreshed. I overall feel better, more confident and positive about myself. Knowing I'm doing good things for me and putting time back into myself during this busy life.
Great video, Dan. Good to see negative reviews given in a professional, respectful manner. Hats off to you, sir! I, too, care a great deal about what goes in my beard via ingredients. And as you postulated, it has impacted other aspects of my life. I am FAR more positive overall and I have become much better about working out and being healthier in general. There was a mental shift from “looking good” to “being healthy”. The latter has made all the difference. As always, thank you for who you are and what you bring to all us beardos! Peace & Love, brother!
Linalool and limonene are naturally occurring allergens in essential oils (there's a few others too) that need to be displayed on labels in EU. Any company who uses essential oils in their products will have it present. It's not bad you as long as they're under certain levels and you're not allergic to them.
Ok... so I've been commenting a lot lately. Just discovered this channel a few days ago and have been binge watching it all, and there are so many helpful tips and knowledge, so thank you, Dan. I love that his wife gets involved and really thank you, Sam, for putting up with the smells, the stickiness, and everything that goes into supporting your man, your family, and this community. To answer the question of what treating and caring for my beard means? It's my championship trophy. It's my victory. My freedom, my touchdown dance... after years in the military any years fighting obesity and depression and life in general, I am caring for myself better now than I ever have. I dropped weight from close to 400 lb to 200 lb. I eat better, drink more water, take essential vitamins, work out (that one was a shocker to me, because I always hated that) I am in my peak physical condition at 42 years old than I ever had at 18-19. Now is my beard perfect? FUCK NO. I honestly have been considering to shave it off, but just the positivity and knowledge that the Trusted Teacher provides gives me hope. I can FUCKING DO THIS. So, thank you Dan. To you and your family. This community and everything in between. I have a new lease on life, and I am gonna do it being bearded and positive. One note I don't know if Dan covered this, weight gain, and hair loss. I'll look. But everything else... thank you. I plan to commit until my birthday (January 20th) and then I will get back to you. Thanks Dan. You don't need to have a crown to be king... but you do need a beard... and that's why you exist for us.
Hey brotha love the video! I can truly appreciate the respectful honesty. But you mentioned natural deodorant & shampoo/conditioner you use. Could you make. A video about that as well?
Im with Collin on this one!!!!! Omg my skin was crawling just watching you have to put this “stuff” in your beard brotha- On a positive note to this video, you absolutely nailed being professional, courteous, and honest better than anyone else could have to this company, now if they so choose to “correct” their shortfalls, it is 100% up to them and man hopefully they hear and react in a just as positive manner and come back with something you love!!!
My beard has changed me in a positive way as I now shower everyday. I care how I look. I drink mostly water and less coffee which means less sugar. I go outside so me beard can see and feel the sun. I care more about what I eat. Great video. I agree that this company just doesn't know enough yet about beards. Their butter looks like lotion because it has much the same ingredients as lotion. Lotion main ingredient is water I believe.
old video but i wanted to comment because of what you said at the end about caring about your beard changed your life. it was since i started caring about my health did i start to want to take care of my beard, and it just boosted that want to be healthy in all aspects.
Great video Dan, I've seen Phenoxyethanol in several very popular conditioners, butters, and leave ins. It seems when companies get bigger they often turn to synthetic preservatives for longer shelf lifes.
I am literally learning about this firsthand with my new venture, and there are some legit reasons why. Just have to be careful with which ones you pick. I will have a fill video in the future
This is one that has been showing up more and more even in small batch. I've been searching for the perfect co-wash ever since I saw your video on the co-wash analysis. It was very informative and it's really helped me in all of my beard product purchases. Thanks Andrew
@@steverobertbrown thank you Steve, I'm glad I could help. Fortunately there are several all natural conditioners out there now. You may want to check out Barn Brand Beards new Carolina Cowash or Chesapeake Beard Co.
@@blazingbeardproducts2845 Chesapeake has been my go to even before your video. I will definitely be checking out Barn Brand Beards, I appreciate the info and recommendation
Great Review Dan. I really enjoy your positivity. I've seen your transformation in this channel and I have to give you props. Best wishes to you and yours. Keep on bearded.
You said it Dan! Having a beard has changed the way I take care of myself. It’s because of my beard I am taking better care of myself by being much more more aware of the foods and products I put in and use on my body.
Another great video. You didn’t have to put that stuff in your beard, gross! I believe the Trusted Teacher and everyone should follow. Thanks Dan and keep up the hard work. Would of liked to see the look on Sam’s face on the smell of those products.
This is one of the best reviews I have seen you do. Watching you put the suff in beard was priceless. I was already headed down the path but since getting into the bearded comunity I have definitely started caring more about what goes on and in my body. Thanks brother
Hey Dan, great video. Very professional and I think everyone can appreciate it, even Agadir. It’s all legitimate information backed by research, so they can’t argue. I know they don’t intended to destroy beards, but it shows that many companies have to idea what they are doing. It’s scary really. I hope they take this new information and reformulate their products. Great job!
Outstanding critique. You made worthwhile observations. Well done (of course). My beard got one relative to stop speaking to or associating with me in any way whatsoever. Other than that, I can't really say except that it gets compliments, at least conceals an old-age turkey-neck, and provides a lot of places to post comments.
Good morning Dan(and family) as has been said before, “in my opinion”, the research and your back round along w/the people and their research you depend on, its hard not to trust what you have brought forward. That being said, thanks for what you do for this community, I certainly appreciate it !
Great video! It’s because of your teaching that I do pay attention to ingredients now. I’m not perfectly free of bad chemicals (I still use regular deodorant type, natural just didn’t do it for me) 🤦♂️. many improvements have been made in my Beard care and natural soap realm. I hope they take this into consideration and revamp their line. Kudos
Awesome job Dan. This journey due to you and my sister has made me much more aware of what ingredients I am putting in and in my body. It has made me a much more savvy consumer. This to me also brings awareness to the hair game too. They historically have used these products. One of those products is in easy off oven cleaner. Knowledge is power my brothers. Thanks Dan for doing that on this channel. To my bearded community these products are much more than scent. Be informed. Be healthy
Taking care of my beard and caring about what I use has led me to desire more life giving moments as well as healthier eating habits. I seriously just today drank kombucha for the first time. This mindset happened because of my beard. Thanks Dan! Stay beaded, stay positive and STAY WILD!
Great video! Thank you. I have also gotten into using more natural products, soap and body wash being the main ones. I've been looking into using natural deodorant as well but it's hard to get off my old spice high endurance that I've used for a very long time. It's also the only one I've found that I dont have negative reactions to. I both love and respect your honesty however I'm sure I wouldn't have bought these products anyway based on a lot of what you said. I do want to second another comment here in that I would also really like to see a video on natural deodorants as well. Hope you have a great upcoming week!
Great review mate , that was hard to watch that horrible product go into your awesome beard , since I’ve had a beard loads has changed I feel more confident with a beard , I’m looking after myself drinking plenty of water but most of all just a happier person , my beard has changed my life 👊
My beard has had pretty much the same effect that you described happening to you. Funny enough it started out with dr squatch and natural champoo conditioner and soaps. Then moved on to beard oil then natural deoderant. From there got into beard butters and now im more hygienic. Been taking care if my teeth more and i feel like a million bucks. It made me take vitamins and has been a daily routine ever since. Some people dont understand they think im getting carried away but i know how i feel compaired to how i felt. It really is life changing. Doesnt make sense to take care of your beard and not give the rest of your body the same love. Why shower with synthetic detergents and then after only care for the beard.
The ingredients you listed in the side edits are commonly used in store bought shampoos and conditioners (i.e. detergents) ... not what I want in my beard... potassium hydroxide is Lye .. used in the saponification of oils to make Liquid Soap. the ingredients in that brand mimic detergents and conditioning agents for head hair in store bought items... again, not stuff I want in my beard.
Thanks for this video.. that butter looks like the stuff I first used when I started my beard journey. It looks like a custard like texture. I was very ignorant when it came to products but thankful to reviewers like yourself I was shown the light. Hopefully this company sees this video and takes as a learning experience. I would love to see them come out of this and change for the good. At least that is how I would treat it.
Very good episode. Product info I got it from the start. Honestly You lost me but talking about how growing your beard changed your life was possibly the best thing I've heard you say. Sounded personal.
Great video. Love the respectful honesty. The beard game has changed my life. I feel I have so much more positivity going on. I love when strangers ask questions and compliment my beard. I find myself being more receptive to that and it’s awesome.
Great video. Tastefully done. Great points about ingredients and how the hair and beard are treated differently. Loved what your said about how bearding changed your life.
That "eye brow brush" looks pretty nifty 👀 lol. And my beard has changed my life in just about every way you've mentioned too. I drink a gallon of water at least everyday, which is waaaaay more water than I ever used to drink lol. I've also switched to all natural deodorants and also switched to all natural body washes and soaps as well. I've also steped up my vitamin game with suggestions from your videos. I've been consistently taking biotin, oemega-3, and a multivitamin on top of those, as well. So I definitely care more now than ever about the ingredients in products I use and the total health of my body.
I enjoy all your videos. I’m relatively new to the beard game and keep mine around 7mm but I love the aspect of caring for my short beard and having it looks it’s best. Thank you for your honest reviews and advice.
Bull Dog's beard balm is exactly like that stuff. Lotion consistency, feels cold going on, makes your beard feel wet. I threw mine in the garbage after the first time I used it.
hello dan c i am 22 years old indian men and i am growing a beard but it's coming patchy my father has dence beard as well as my grandfather also has the same but mine it's patchy
I'm definitely late but... been working out more. I finally stuck to a skin care routine for the first time ever because of my beard. Having a routine also makes me more productive overall.
Not only are these products terrible for your beard, they are very expensive as well. not worth it! You mentioned that you only use all natural Deodorant and Body Wash. What brands do you use?
Hey brotha! I actually posted a recent video on body wash, face wash, shampoo and conditioner. All natural deodorant = Mountaineer brand (COMMAND20 discount). A key thing is that with water based products I use ALMOST all natural lol need some preservatives in there or it gets scary. Filming a video on that right now. I do have one all natural body wash though lol from mountaineer brand as well
Dan C Bearded Thanks Dan. They were the first company I found local when I started keeping a beard. I use to grow it during the winter then shave when spring hit. This past fall I decided to start growing my beard and keep it. So very new to all this.
So other washes you’ve said good things about such as the Duke cannon one also contain some of these “bad” ingredients such as phenoxyethanol, yet they got a pass. Also I’ve heard you say bad things about soybean oil being a cheap ingredient yet that’s in Duke cannons wash as well?
Please watch the video again. Did I say all of the ingredients listed were bad? Or did I encourage people to look up ingredients? I purposely listed some that look or sound scary, but are perfectly fine. phenoxyethanol is actually my preferred preservative when it comes to water based products. And yes, soybean oil is not a favorite of mine, especially when it comes to oils and balms. Not as much a factor with wash. Clearly I have no problem share negative thoughts about duke cannon, if you actually watched that video (once again). I clearly shared how I am not a fan of the oil.
Just today I bought Beard Guyz beard butter and their style stick. Most of those ingredients are listed on the stuff I bought. I will be returning them tomorrow. Now I’m going to check another product I use at night. For now I’ll stick with Shea Butter at night and BJCO during the day. Thanks for the info Dan 👍🏻
Thanks Dan. Being a 2 year old video, do you have perhaps an updated version you could do focusing on salon products? I have been told from my neighbor who is a hair specialist that her salon pushes Woody’s beard products and swears up and down they are good for her husbands beard. I tried them out myself and have to say that I really like the scent. However, being a new beardsman, I am a little ignorant to the ingredients of the beard wash, the 2-in-1 beard conditioner, the beard oil (thickest I’ve ever tried) and the beard balm. I have to say that I actually like the products but wish they had a butter. Do you have any opinions on any of the ingredients used in the Woody’s beard product line? Thanks for your time, opinions and everything beard you stand for. It has changed my life!
Very good question! It does not say specifically for beards. However, they sent it for a beard products review. I guess I understood it as the entire body & all hair
I’ve just started using beard products just for the simple fact that I really didn’t know to treat my beard differently than my head hair and have noticed a world of difference my beard is so much more healthy and because my beard has become more healthy looking it’s made me so much more happy and I’m sure as more time passes I’ll have more lifestyle changes and now I’ve started looking at ingredients because it is super important. Thank you for the great content in all of your videos!
Great video Dan C! I recently researched every ingredient in a well known brand and was amazed at some of the potentially toxic ingredients. There were only two out of 21 that I recognized, those being water and beeswax (this was a balm). I am definitely confused here on this particular product😕
First Thank you! I bought the body wash while on vacation I thought it smelled pretty lol but after watching your video... 🥴 so if there are any OUD WOOD beard oils you recommend? Please let me know 🙏
Dan, great review and I'm impressed with how positive and respectful you kept this negative review I totally understand that you are giving this honest feedback and giving the company the opportunity to improve and create a better product Thanks for your hard work and keep up the great content, sir!
Dan C. Bro you couldn't have put it any better than myself about life changing beard!! I am a true testament to what you said about health family life in general. All because of my beard.
Nice video man. After owning Bloombeards for the last 4 years i would agree with you that many barber based companies have jumped on the beard band wagon as a wag to make money with little to no experience in products for beard health. Its really sad to see. I had a very similar experience with a very popular pomade/ hair care company. I wont name names even though i want to to keep people from wasting their money. Silicone in their beard oil ( which also leaked feom the bottle) which made it super slippery and coating... the feeling was AWFUL!!! Within 3 days i developed terrible beard dandruff. Came back to trg this again like a month later to be fair and same result. The problem is their marketing, hair care following, and branding was really good but they had no business making beard care products. Tastefully sone in your video. Hopefully they make some changes to put out a quality product or just stick to the hair care industry that they know.
Incredible video! You're a master at what you do. It's a shame that many companies, especially the largest ones, tend to add harmful chemicals to their products to lower costs. I made a promise when I took over Huskybeard to stay 100% natural, no matter what.
Great awareness video. The first thing I noticed after the application of the products is your fork appeared, I haven't seen that in your other videos where you apply oils/butters. Suggestion...It would be nice if you listed those product ingredients in your description, there were far too many and complex spellings for me to remember and I do like to look stuff up (we'll call it "research"). Thanks Dan for taking the bullet for us.
First off, I'm sorry for your beard. You truly have my sympathy. With that being said, I have to wonder why research and testing wasn't done before presenting their products to "The Trusted Teacher". I can only remember one other product that has gotten that kind of review, (Old Spice) and I noticed some of the same ingredients in both products. Hopefully they can learn from this and create better products in the future. Thanks for the honesty and the sacrifice Dan!! Eyebrows are on point though bro!!
Yeah I assumed so before even watching this video. The options here just aren’t great but been using seven potions conditioner, might try the shampoo and can get copper johns here.
The last part of the video is awesome how your beard has changed your life I like everything you do has facts and personal experiences another awesome vid Dan
What do you think about wooden combs? I just got one from Rocky Mountain company and brush. And would you like to tell me your opinion about the company as well.
Hopefully these guys go back through and actually watch your videos. It might help them out. I'm with you, my beard has changed my entire life. I have never been as healthy as I am since I started really caring for my beard. Ingredients do matter. If you don't care about the ingredients, then why use products at all? I always look at ingredients and usually base my purchases on whether my favorite carrier oils or butters are used.
Clubman Pinaud makes a beard balm (which I don't recommend) with ingredients similar to these. Also, the consistency is like the old school paste we used in elementary school. It felt like spreading Flex Seal on my face... No thanks!
I’m right there with you Dan C I’ve changed my life around too and eat healthier and I do look out for stuff that goes in my body and on my body too! Great video!
Ive actually started growing my beard about 3 months ago. Since then Ive changed my Deodorant, diet, and recently started jogging in the morning before I go to work. Not sure if the beard is connected to it but maybe it is.
When I saw the beard butter the first thing to come to mind was cold-cream. I have beard oil at home. After watching this I will use em till their gone, but, I will not be buying them again. You got me looking up ingredients and now I can see that these won't be good for me in the long run. They have Silicone in one and the other has a chemical that is banned in California as a possible carcinogen. I don't think one bottle is going to kill me. I hate wasting money so I will use them until their gone, however I will spring for "Every Man Jack" products from here on in. You gave it a good review, it's fairly available here through Walmart. The only downside is that here in Canada we get "Country Pricing" which means the companies charge us more "just because". However a good product that I can be confident in using will be worth it.
Hopefully, the company or other companies that see the potential of the beard product sector of men's grooming products will see this as a positive and go back and reformulate/rethink their approach. Ultimately, that's the value of beard product reviews/reviewers/testers. Helping the consumer make educated decisions and helping companies make better products. Great job Dan. Does this mean Old Spice can self-soothe and tell themselves they don't have the WORST beard products ever? Nah, probably not. lol
Great video, , im growing my beard and its 3 month in and I feel more confident and proud even if my wife doesn't like me growing a viking beard, thank you your great dan c 😀
What are your thoughts on the companies out there that are promoting beard growth products? I am currently using minoxidil to fill in my patchy areas, and saw companies selling growth vitamins and growth oils. My current regiment is minoxidil 5% 2x daily, 1 Men's One-A-Day Multivitamin, and a Collagen Vitamin with Biotin and Vitamin C boosts.
Grow vitamins absolutely work to increase the rate of growth for more people, but do not create new hairs. No oil has been proven to work yet. Minoxidil has mixed results but works really well for some
It's like the Star Trek Discovery of the beard world. Thanks for the warning. Hopefully they'll use this to rethink their product line. I found it funny how you mentioned your sister... just incase!
Do the community a favor and review Clubman Pinaud beard products. The "beard oil" has the consistency of honey but becomes a silicone coating when you start rubbing it. The "beard balm" is basically petroleum jelly. Beard conditioner is surprisingly decent.
Time for this company to pay the foolishness tax. If they have been tracking DanC's Channel they should know that he's a proponent of solid all natural ingredients to go in beard. They should have known better than to have even sent him one drop of product.
I immediately checked the ingredients in the products I have. It contains linalool and benzyl benzoate. I don’t use products much instead use coconut oil and almond oil alternatively in weekdays. Products come to my beard on special occasions. It would be very helpful if yu could please suggest me some produkts which does not have the ingredients yu mentioned in the video
Dan C Bearded thanks for the response brotha, I deactivated my IG and FB accounts 2 years back so that I can get good time with beard and family. Yeah it’s better to take details on mail but where can I find ur mail id!
so many things have changed since i started the beard journey . I eat better and drink water (hate the stuff)..i take a biotin vitamin everyday. It has made me realize that a dream i had can actualy happen and that is being Santa. Since i started growing my beard i have had many positive opinions in that area that even my boss who is not huge on beards is now liking it. Thank you for all the Vids and positivity one of the things my parents used to tell me ..if you can't say it without a degree why are you putting it in or on your body. Stay awesome
Men, why you did that?! 😱 Just the consistency of the butter... 🤢. Seriously though great video; beard can be a game changer. For me it means taking care of what I put in my body and to be proud of my almost white beard (and I am in my 40s!). Keep spreading the good vibes! 🙌🏼
Hey dan just noticed the bulldog beard wash has limonene in it. Im going to research myself but was wondering if you have any views on the bulldog 2 in 1 beard wash
Having my beard has changed a lot of things in my life as well love having a beard and want to do everything I can to be healthy and in return have a healthy beard love your videos!!
Oh boy haha. Nice Video DanC! Sounds like the company had good intentions. What’s that saying? The road to Hell is paved with good intentions? It’s really unfortunate. There are a lot of companies doing this. Hair Care companies trying to jump on the beard product bandwagon. We’ve seen it in Suavecito, Old Spice, and now Agadir Men... and there are countless others. They may have nice hair products, but how do they not realize that hair care and beard care are completely different worlds? It’s just a lack of effort really. If they put in any time and effort in the research department, they would know! They would know that these ingredients they’re using are terrible for beards. It’s very frustrating. I literally CRINGED when you put the oil and butter in your beard. I very well may have said out loud “Don’t do it Dan! No!”. Haha. Props to you for going for it. That’s some dedication to the channel baby! Even willing to use stuff like this to help educate the Command Army and Beard Community. Some of the ingredients that stood out to me were Acrylates Copolymer. It’s used a lot in cosmetic products, it’s said to help with frizz and humidity, and is known to cause irritation to the skin. Another is PEG-100... I remember looking this up before and seeing that PEG compounds are linked to leukemia and other cancers. It goes on and on. So many compounds and emulsifiers, crap that you don’t want to use on your body, let alone your beard. When I first started growing a beard I did a ton of research, an hour here, an hour there, just looking up ingredients I saw in products form the grocery store. What I realized was that all the beard products you can get in big box stores are TERRIBLE. That’s why it’s so awesome that you are involved with that company you’re working with and going to get quality beard products in big box stores. It’s going to give first time beard product users a WAY better experience. A nice intro to the beard world. If you haven’t done the research, or don’t have the time to look up and read up on all sorts of ingredients commonly used in health/beauty/beard products... Just do this.... Read the ingredients, if you are reading ingredients that are impossible to pronounce (excluding companies that use Latin for oils) ingredients, that look man made, that look like chemicals... Just don’t use it. Majority of the time it’s not beneficial for your beard. Always do the google search. If you see something in a product that you don’t recognize, it’ll take 10 seconds to do a quick google search and see if it’s something you should be using. Or.... just message DanC! He’ll get back to you! Never just go off blind faith when a company says “All Natural”. Always do your due diligence! If you don’t, it’s as much your fault as the company making the product. I’m with you on combs. I can’t do the metal combs. It scares me. I would much rather use a Kent or Kent Style Comb, OxHorn Comb, or even Wood over Metal. It’s definitely cool though, love the bottle opener, that’s pretty slick. That beard brush is really, really cute. That consistency of the oil is all too familiar. I’ve used products before and been like “what is going on here?” When you emulsify in your hands it might dry up and disappear, or be all slimy and greasy. It just immediately has this fake, unnatural feel. You feel it in your bones. It’s just disgusting. It’s not just about caring about our beards. It’s about caring about ourselves. It’s about doing the best we can to take care of our vehicle. That’s what our body is. It’s our vehicle. The more we take care of it, the better it’s going to run, the longer it’s going to last, and the better it’s going to be, period. Self Care is Self Love. I love taking care of my Beard. Falling in love with taking care of my beard led to me falling in love with taking care of myself as a whole. My hair, my skin, my face etc... everything. Life is so short. Even if you do live until 80-100 years old... What kind of quality of life will you have? Well, you can have a much better quality of life if you take care of yourself leading up to old age. We’ve all seen those people. They are 60-70 years old and look like they’re 40-50. Some of it might be genetics, but a lot of it has to do with the fact that they took care and continue to take care of themselves. I’m not saying everyone out there has to do every little thing to live a long healthy life, but little things add up. I personally love my morning and nighttime routines. It’s like therapy. It’s like I’m stepping into my own spa. I take my time, and I enjoy it. I like knowing that I’m doing what I can to take care of myself. Of course, I have a soda every now and then. I’ll smoke a cigar and have a glass of scotch playing poker with the fellas. I’ll eat a 32oz Dry Aged Tomahawk Ribeye with loads of butter and garlic mashed potatoes.... But the majority of the time I take care of myself, so that when I do indulge in my vices, that I don’t feel guilty, and I know it’s all good. It doesn’t have to be a drastic, immediate change. Like I said before, the little things add up. Start by just drinking more water, then a gallon a day etc... Small changes lead to big changes. That’s why most people can’t change their diet. They make crazy drastic changes and it’s too much too fast. Slow and steady wins the race. Take that first step and the rest is history!
I didn’t know limonene and linalool were bad I thought they were just natural preservatives or pH balancers or something... I know that some great bar soaps contain sodium chloride (salt). Is that okay for beards? Love your work mate!
Dan I use a non silicone inland on olive oil hey wash on my place a week can I use hair moisturizer on my beard and castor oil with an emu and I have a long beard.
The skeev-out at 15:00 is freaking hilarious!
Terrible memories lol
Deffiently doesnt make me want to use it,lol! Hopefully you washed it out quickly!
Just a dude that loves helping people!
Doug Sloan well said!
Thank you Doug 🙏
Your the man taking one for the team! I started with some bad products and then found out what good ones really do for you. Since then because of being conscience of what I'm using and doing to take care of my beard. I'm drinking more water, taking better vitamins, reading more labels of things before buying them I've found natural bar soaps that don't dry my skin out like store bought ones would. Cold water rinsing has helped with dry skin after showering and leaves me more refreshed. I overall feel better, more confident and positive about myself. Knowing I'm doing good things for me and putting time back into myself during this busy life.
That is so cool to hear!
That's a beautiful comment, thank you Kyle!
Linalool and limonene are naturally occurring allergens in essential oils (there's a few others too) that need to be displayed on labels in EU. Any company who uses essential oils in their products will have it present. It's not bad you as long as they're under certain levels and you're not allergic to them.
Very valid points!
Ya i thought linalool was ok for you? Doesnt almost every essential oil have it in them? Especially lemon and lavender.
Ok... so I've been commenting a lot lately.
Love that so much!
Hey brotha love the video! I can truly appreciate the respectful honesty. But you mentioned natural deodorant & shampoo/conditioner you use. Could you make. A video about that as well?
I have a video dropping this week brotha, I believe 10a on Saturday 👊
@@DanCBearded sweet I will be enjoying that content and tuning in for it like all the rest👊
Dan C Bearded thanks brotha 🤙🏾 excited to see all the organic products you use!
Im with Collin on this one!!!!! Omg my skin was crawling just watching you have to put this “stuff” in your beard brotha-
On a positive note to this video, you absolutely nailed being professional, courteous, and honest better than anyone else could have to this company, now if they so choose to “correct” their shortfalls, it is 100% up to them and man hopefully they hear and react in a just as positive manner and come back with something you love!!!
That is the goal my friend!
I'm super happy to hear about those positive changes William!
old video but i wanted to comment because of what you said at the end about caring about your beard changed your life. it was since i started caring about my health did i start to want to take care of my beard, and it just boosted that want to be healthy in all aspects.
Dan C always lookin out for us. may have to get an eyebrow comb tho.
🤝😂
Great Review Dan. I really enjoy your positivity. I've seen your transformation in this channel and I have to give you props. Best wishes to you and yours. Keep on bearded.
Thank you so much! I am working my butt off 👊
You said it perfect man it is so true! Growing my beard has changed my life for the positive in many ways
Absolutely agree!
Finally catching up on these incredibly informative videos and I have to say, my beard and I are much healthier because of it! Thank you, Dan! 💪
Glad you like them!
You said it Dan! Having a beard has changed the way I take care of myself. It’s because of my beard I am taking better care of myself by being much more more aware of the foods and products I put in and use on my body.
That is so awesome!
Another great video. You didn’t have to put that stuff in your beard, gross! I believe the Trusted Teacher and everyone should follow. Thanks Dan and keep up the hard work. Would of liked to see the look on Sam’s face on the smell of those products.
Thanks brotha man!
Positivity breeds positive results. Thanks for these vids, Dan. I have definitely been a lot happier since regrowing my beard this summer.
I live by that and that’s awesome to hear!
I found that "beard oils" that have a pump top typically are terrible. I will not use them on my beard but do occasionally use them on head hair
Sometimes it can be a good indicator, for sure
This is one of the best reviews I have seen you do. Watching you put the suff in beard was priceless. I was already headed down the path but since getting into the bearded comunity I have definitely started caring more about what goes on and in my body. Thanks brother
You're welcome and thank you!
Great job!
Well said Joel!
Thank you!
Good morning Dan(and family) as has been said before, “in my opinion”, the research and your back round along w/the people and their research you depend on, its hard not to trust what you have brought forward. That being said, thanks for what you do for this community, I certainly appreciate it !
Thank you Butch 🙏
Great video! It’s because of your teaching that I do pay attention to ingredients now. I’m not perfectly free of bad chemicals (I still use regular deodorant type, natural just didn’t do it for me) 🤦♂️. many improvements have been made in my Beard care and natural soap realm. I hope they take this into consideration and revamp their line. Kudos
Thank you brotha Ben!
Be healthy
Knowledge is power! 👊
Taking care of my beard and caring about what I use has led me to desire more life giving moments as well as healthier eating habits. I seriously just today drank kombucha for the first time. This mindset happened because of my beard. Thanks Dan! Stay beaded, stay positive and STAY WILD!
Thanks brotha!
Thanks brotha!
Great review mate , that was hard to watch that horrible product go into your awesome beard , since I’ve had a beard loads has changed I feel more confident with a beard , I’m looking after myself drinking plenty of water but most of all just a happier person , my beard has changed my life 👊
That's beautiful Chris!
Agreed brotha!!
Spot on! A few decent ones were sprinkled in the list to keep it honest and not leading people, whoever many are awful for your beard.
Truly my goal was to 1) give them the review they were asking for. 2) hope that they can take the info & learn! Thanks Jon 👊
Great review Dan. Appreciate you taking one for the team.
You're welcome!
Well....... My soul brotha...... A+ for taking one for the team and doing this on camera. I’m speechless.
Thanks Coach, I left it all out on the court
Very good episode. Product info I got it from the start. Honestly You lost me but talking about how growing your beard changed your life was possibly the best thing I've heard you say. Sounded personal.
Thanks Justin!
Great video. Love the respectful honesty. The beard game has changed my life. I feel I have so much more positivity going on. I love when strangers ask questions and compliment my beard. I find myself being more receptive to that and it’s awesome.
That is awesome buddy!!
Great video. Tastefully done. Great points about ingredients and how the hair and beard are treated differently. Loved what your said about how bearding changed your life.
Thank you, it really has!
That's beautiful brotha!
Points well made, and positive point: your eyebrows look *great*. Excellent brow brush!
Hahaha thanks!
I enjoy all your videos. I’m relatively new to the beard game and keep mine around 7mm but I love the aspect of caring for my short beard and having it looks it’s best. Thank you for your honest reviews and advice.
Thank you Sensei for keeping it real you did a great job breaking it down with facts! Hopefully that company can get it right.
You’re welcome!
Dan you're always polite and honest. Good honest opinion. Thanks Dan C.
Bull Dog's beard balm is exactly like that stuff. Lotion consistency, feels cold going on, makes your beard feel wet. I threw mine in the garbage after the first time I used it.
Yuck! I have only tried their beard oil

That’s awesome William!
Honest opinion, people need to realize this. I think as a whole, we DO appreciate the info you share!! Thanks!
Thank you Eric!
I do have one all natural body wash though lol from mountaineer brand as well
This is a great review. I am doing more healthy things because of your positive attitude.
That is so awesome to hear!
Great video Dan. Thank you for all your hard work and great information.
You're welcome!
Haven't read all comments, has anyone reviewed CREMO products? I only use their wash and conditioner. I use honest Amish for the rest of my products.
I have a review on cremo 👊 not my favorite beard products, but not the worst. Honest amish is much better
Dan C Bearded Thanks Dan. They were the first company I found local when I started keeping a beard. I use to grow it during the winter then shave when spring hit. This past fall I decided to start growing my beard and keep it. So very new to all this.
Don't even see their products in stores anymore
Thankfully!
great video as always! this is a random thought but u should totally rock a flat cap🤔
Hmmm, never tried one!
You're welcome brotha! Good call on returning that company 👊
Question. Did they tell you that the wash was for beards. I just looked online and I can't see where it says for beards. Only men's hair and body.
Thank you! Reviews like this are not fun to make, especially with them sending products and reaching out. Have to keep it honest always though
You're very professional, I applaud that
Thank you!
Hey Dan do the products you mention work for the black guys because our hair is different texture?
Yes, absolutely! Many I mentioned are black owned businesses
Great video Dan C! I recently researched every ingredient in a well known brand and was amazed at some of the potentially toxic ingredients. There were only two out of 21 that I recognized, those being water and beeswax (this was a balm). I am definitely confused here on this particular product😕
Knowledge is power!
I ordered the butter, just to see if I could find a decent one here in Scandinavia. But noooooo! I will keep buy Detroit from Amazon.

Yes. I just love the Leland, can smell it all day long :)

I’m just going to sit here in my tavern, drink a pint, and stay quiet. 🧙♂️🤫
I think it's obvious what kind of story a beard tells with Agadir Men in it... a horror story 😵😯😰😱😱😱

But I’ll join you in the tavern!
Fable Beard Co. We wait and we watch from our taverns.... 👊🏼🧔🏻
Some of those ingredients though! I quit smoking to avoid cancer! I don’t need to put it in my beard
Good informative video. Professional and respectfully made. Let's hope they learn from this and can turn things around.
Those are my goals! Thanks 👊
Great video! Way to keep it positive. And those eyebrows are on 🔥 thanks to that brush! 😂
Hahaha
Incredible video! You're a master at what you do. It's a shame that many companies, especially the largest ones, tend to add harmful chemicals to their products to lower costs. I made a promise when I took over Huskybeard to stay 100% natural, no matter what.
Thanks brotha!
That is not a suggestion, thanks buddy! Just have to carve out the time to get them in there lol
I honestly hope they take it as a learning experience
Been using L’Oréal 🙈 has 3 of these ingredients. Probably time to change.
Not good!
Yeah I assumed so before even watching this video. The options here just aren’t great but been using seven potions conditioner, might try the shampoo and can get copper johns here.
The last part of the video is awesome how your beard has changed your life I like everything you do has facts and personal experiences another awesome vid Dan
Thank you buddy!
I have started drinking more water among other things that I feel are healthy changes. I'm just getting started on this road to a bigger better beard.
That's awesome!
Please give reviews on l'oreal beard oil , beard wash. Thanks
I will add it to my list to check out
@@DanCBearded when i apply it , my beard hair seem to cling with each other and make combing quite difficult . I have curly hair beard
Clubman Pinaud makes a beard balm (which I don't recommend) with ingredients similar to these.
Also, the consistency is like the old school paste we used in elementary school. It felt like spreading Flex Seal on my face... No thanks!
Yuckkk!
I’m right there with you Dan C I’ve changed my life around too and eat healthier and I do look out for stuff that goes in my body and on my body too! Great video!
That's beautiful!
Ive actually started growing my beard about 3 months ago. Since then Ive changed my Deodorant, diet, and recently started jogging in the morning before I go to work. Not sure if the beard is connected to it but maybe it is.
I bet it is!
Nah, probably not. lol
Haha nawww, equal grounds as the co-worst!
Had to flex the lawyer card to start lol been there, done that. Doesn't workout in the company's favor
Do the community a favor and review Clubman Pinaud beard products. The "beard oil" has the consistency of honey but becomes a silicone coating when you start rubbing it. The "beard balm" is basically petroleum jelly. Beard conditioner is surprisingly decent.
I am going to have to grab some of that for a review!
Time for this company to pay the foolishness tax. If they have been tracking DanC's Channel they should know that he's a proponent of solid all natural ingredients to go in beard. They should have known better than to have even sent him one drop of product.
They must not have watched many of my videos... that was a first thought of mine too lol
Hey brotha, shoot me an email or IG message 👊 I like to give specifics there
Dan C Bearded thanks for the response brotha, I deactivated my IG and FB accounts 2 years back so that I can get good time with beard and family. Yeah it’s better to take details on mail but where can I find ur mail id!
Hej, i know you are busy with all stuff. But please catch up when yu have time
so many things have changed since i started the beard journey .
Dan the man..... Great video.... Great info as usual
Thank you Bobby!
Men, why you did that?! 😱 Just the consistency of the butter... 🤢. Seriously though great video; beard can be a game changer. For me it means taking care of what I put in my body and to be proud of my almost white beard (and I am in my 40s!). Keep spreading the good vibes! 🙌🏼
Thanks brotha!
Dan, what is your thoughts on King C Gillette's beard and face wash? Is it quality and safe for a beard? Thanks
I have not tried that line of stuff, but I am not a fan of the company in general
The feeling of these products is almost indescribable... like truly as bad as you could imagine!
Dan C Bearded Haha. That’s why you’re the GOAT.
Hey brotha, I am trying to figure it out but I do not follow the question
