My 2 most beloved memories from Vanilla: 1. an „so-called“ noob-filter at the beginning of an alterac valley -> mage portal to a town at the start of the battleground-barrier and someone shoutet: Pls click the portal to summon the rest of the group!!😂 2. Molten Core - Baron Geddon fight: whispering someone infight: YOU ARE THE BOMB!!!! 😂 priceless to see how they were running away from others! Those times were magic and fun as hell!! ❤️
I still remember when my brother received the message 'you are the bomb' for the first time and he took it as a compliment.. so as he was thanking everyone he blew up half the raid, good times

This series all together, the choice of music, the editing, the voice over, it's all done so tastefully, resulting in some very therapeutic hours. All of us who were apart of the WoW scene during the 2004-2006, will inevitably be sucked into the nostalgia, and i welcome it! Again, great job on this series, i wish you the best!
I remember BWL as a brick wall too. Our guild basically broke apart on Razorgore too. We tried months to kill him, without success. And the longer it took, the less and less people signed up for the raid. So we looked to team up with an other guild who killed him a few times already. And on our first mutual raid we finally killed him on the first or second try. The nerdgasm in TS was really intense at that moment. Interestingly, I remember that we didn't take too many tries to kill Vaelastrasz though. And from that point on we made steady progress through BWL. The next toughest boss which took us many weeks to down was Chromaggus and of course Nefarian. But Nefarian's pre- and intermediate phases were the hardest part, where you had to kill the ludicrous amounts of undead mobs before and during the fight. Good old times ... :D
Really enjoy this series of videos, it has made me reflect on some of my favorite times in classic, and even the older Expacs. Thanks for sharing your stories

You clearly didn't play vanilla as a 12 yr old who knew nothing of the game. It was a nostalgic experience that real vanilla players would NEVER down play like you. You prob started in Cata based off what you said
much to the contrary,i played vanilla on my brother's account when i was 8,only getting my own account during wrath,my first char was a druid. and yes,while the nostalgia is very big and all,but objectively vanilla was very good indeed,but as i said,it was no groundbreaking stuff.
If you break the game down to its fundamentals then yeah, sure its not "groundbreaking". But there was nothing like it at the time, and nothing has ever captured that adventure feeling like Vanilla was able to. That's why so many people so dream of having it again. It was special.

I love these videos, so much, they bring up so many great memories. And seeing IF so quiet and empty, was just sad. Between the bank and AH was such a hot spot, big crowds showing off the gear, of lack there of, setring off AOEs, fireworks, and what not. And the wait for BGs... Uhg, I will never miss that! Hours and hours in air sometimes, especially AV. And AV, how I loved AV. I ran a 12 hour game in there once! And yes, I know well games went much longer than that, easily, but that was my longest, and I never left. I'd hide my toom in a cabe or something for bio breaks, then back at it! And since there were no cross realms, well, you'd REALLY get to know folks, even on the opposing side. Sometimes fighting the same persons hundreds of times. I miss that part, but not the waiting, so I'm glad they did the cross realm for BGs. But for the whole world? Not so much. Yes, I miss vanilla and the memories, but that can't be redone. And I don't know if I want to do those grinds all over again. I dunno, it's weird. I do and don't want to go back to the classic server. Because I dobt think it could ever feel the same, and I don't want to ruin the memory. This game has run for almost 14 years, so the memories are strong, we've built serious bonds. And as I've mentioned before, us OG players are badasses with this new content. Because we learned to play in vanilla, we're monsters with this new stuff. It's ridiculous the mob sizes I can take on now, when in vanilla 2 of them would have meant my death. That's why everything felt so earned, leveling was truly epic. The game will never be the same, but we play it our way and make it fun. I'm babbling, anywho, thanks again for another great video!!!

Once when I was playing a horde alt. I went to queue up at the battlemaster at the original battleground entrance. Any alliance came by, and the battlemaster did a FRIENDLY-FIRE cleave, and killed all of us hordies sitting outside the battlemaster. I remember even confirming it in the combat log. Was so crazy. Probably a bug, or something overlooked. I love the memory series the most. As someone who has played classic and all that jazz. I find the concept still pretty boring, but the memories we players have. The experiences many of enjoyed. The first time we saw something like this--those are special. And I love hearing the stories.
BWL is probably my fav raid. Mostly for the memories since I was there for every bit of it with my guild. Struggling to beat a boss then having it on farm shortly after the first kill. The Nefarian fight was so cool, especially that first time you managed to clear the start of the event and he turned into a dragon. Fighting out on the balcony of a massive dungeon carved into a mountain

I absolutely LOOOOVED the Onyxia attune quest chain. It felt so very epic and so very satisfying when finally done. I tried to do it on as many alts as I could, because it was just so much fun. I hated when they removed it. :(
Not sure I have the will to do all the attunements and keys again. I think I still have the amulet and ring of ascension in my bags on the warrior. I kept things like that. Have rare fish caught, Rewards from key quest chains etc. Never kept the original armor sets so I have to farm them again for xmog. Nice work on the vids. Like how you spend so much time recreating an experience with low level gear on your tunes. You are the the go-to channel.
I've been binging your vids reminiscing, mostly seeing on stuff I missed out on, or was too complicated for me to get into it. I believe it was the Unadorned Seal of Ascension that I held onto (just something I put in my bank because I didn't know what it was), anyway I sold it I think in Legion for something like 100K gold in the Auction House. It was either that or something that used a similar graphic. That's a little memory for me in itself - selling an old relic for quite a bit of gold. Quite a coincidence to see it in your vid and learn what it was for.

Zapdos exactly! The newer players don't understand the gold grind we had to do to get riding skill and mount. And, how we just about lost our minds when flying mounts were introduced!
The newer players are not playing WoW. WoW died on Wrath when they started the slow progression of dumbing everything down. Vanilla/TBC players noticed a huge change like removing talent trees, Wrath was the start of the death of wow when the numbers started dying after people hit level cap and didn't like the feel of the game or where it was going
I find it very hard to imagine people thinking it is hard now. I feel so crazy powerful after having been a vanilla player. I can take on massive mobs, of my same level and never sweat. Back in vanilla accidentally pulling TWO same lvl guys meant death or damn near close. I left right before Cata and came back with Legion, which I actually liked Legion, so I had to catch up on a ton. I think us OG players have a great advantage because we learned when it was a very challenging game.
Watching this, now, for the first time. Prepping to join some of my friends for one final breach into the world of Azeroth. Can't help but appreciate the bowl of fruit at the beginning.
It's awesome to find out you played on the same server as me. I was an Undead Warlock named Solik if that rings any bells. I did a lot of PVP so we must have clashed at some point.
Man I love the onyxia chain so much went back and did it recently as I lvling up and I gotta say being able to make meaningful progress towards being raid ready before ever reaching max level feels great not to mention the chain rewards an insane amount of xp if done at the appropriate level definitely something I would work towards while still in the leveling stage of the game
Blackwing Lair was my favorite, lots of fun in our multi-guild raid. I remember pallys paired with warriors to kite the dragon which was crazy cause we didn’t have an instant heal back then.
I really like these flashback videos, I remember having to do all the chain quests and getting all the keys, but dont remember the details, it really brings me back. Since the unknown factor is gone with WoW and vanilla, i dont think i will have the same feeling with classic servers. The things that made the game fun and exciting for the time are gone. Personally i think the classic servers will do well at the start but will drop off super quick.
Great video! While the Onyxia attunement was a pain in the butt, I think the aim of the quest line was quick cool. The quest line is basically about training to be an Onyxia guardian. The original amulet lets you transform into the thrash mobs you meet before Onyxia.
Terrific video man... Standing O. I did Naxx and i completely blocked out any recollection of the Only attunement. I don't remember doing it... I DO remember donning that BF Hood for the first time... Eyes smoldering... Looking fierce... So gangsta. Lol but holy shit the quest. I PTSD blocked it out along with farming consumables for Nax. Rogues had it MUCh easier too. I pity a healer.
I have memories of many wipes on razorgore and vael. i remember the first time the broodlords head dropped, one of our rogues accidentally looted it, and got sucked into doing the rep farm.
I remember Blackwing Lair. I think I was playing a pally at the time. Anyway, the RL had assigned tasks to each of us. I seem to recall different colored sands to counter debuffs? There was a lot of micromanaging of raid resources back then, in addition to spell ranking as needed, etc. Boy, when you chalked up another boss win, it felt like you really earned it. There was something only one person could loot at the end and return to SW or Org. I forget what it was.
You fail to mention that after delivering the quest to the NPC in Winterspring she whacks you with her staff throwing you all the way across the Great Sea into a lake in the Plaguelands. Probably the most violent impact event in the game until Sargeras' sword.

I would love to see either an anime series or live action series that follows a guild as they level up and go through each raid from classic to current. When they get to the Onyxia raid they could find a mountain of corpses, a mage in the group could cast a scrying spell and they could play the old Onyxia raid wipe audio. I think anime would work best personally.

Man I love the onyxia chain so much went back and did it recently as I lvling up and I gotta say being able to make meaningful progress towards being raid ready before ever reaching max level feels great not to mention the chain rewards an insane amount of xp if done at the appropriate level definitely something I would work towards while still in the leveling stage of the game

Blackwing Lair was my favorite, lots of fun in our multi-guild raid. I remember pallys paired with warriors to kite the dragon which was crazy cause we didn’t have an instant heal back then.
I really like these flashback videos, I remember having to do all the chain quests and getting all the keys, but dont remember the details, it really brings me back. Since the unknown factor is gone with WoW and vanilla, i dont think i will have the same feeling with classic servers. The things that made the game fun and exciting for the time are gone. Personally i think the classic servers will do well at the start but will drop off super quick.

Great video! While the Onyxia attunement was a pain in the butt, I think the aim of the quest line was quick cool. The quest line is basically about training to be an Onyxia guardian. The original amulet lets you transform into the thrash mobs you meet before Onyxia.

Terrific video man... Standing O. I did Naxx and i completely blocked out any recollection of the Only attunement. I don't remember doing it... I DO remember donning that BF Hood for the first time... Eyes smoldering... Looking fierce... So gangsta. Lol but holy shit the quest. I PTSD blocked it out along with farming consumables for Nax. Rogues had it MUCh easier too. I pity a healer.

I have memories of many wipes on razorgore and vael. i remember the first time the broodlords head dropped, one of our rogues accidentally looted it, and got sucked into doing the rep farm.

Very true about BWL. Our guild had MC/Ony on farm but couldn’t get past Razorgore. We did clear ZG and did some AQ20 as well though.

I remember Blackwing Lair. I think I was playing a pally at the time. Anyway, the RL had assigned tasks to each of us. I seem to recall different colored sands to counter debuffs? There was a lot of micromanaging of raid resources back then, in addition to spell ranking as needed, etc. Boy, when you chalked up another boss win, it felt like you really earned it. There was something only one person could loot at the end and return to SW or Org. I forget what it was.

You fail to mention that after delivering the quest to the NPC in Winterspring she whacks you with her staff throwing you all the way across the Great Sea into a lake in the Plaguelands. Probably the most violent impact event in the game until Sargeras' sword.

I would love to see either an anime series or live action series that follows a guild as they level up and go through each raid from classic to current. When they get to the Onyxia raid they could find a mountain of corpses, a mage in the group could cast a scrying spell and they could play the old Onyxia raid wipe audio. I think anime would work best personally.
