14:30 I think the forward observation Post is way underrated. It has strafing run, Recon, Artillery (vs tanks & infantry) that is what Close ari Support doctrine has in 3 slots. If you have a lot of ammo you can quite literally throw the kitchen sink at them
S Tier 7:50 Royal Artillery 9:05 Royal Engineer 14:52 Vanguard Operations A Tier 0:40 Advanced Emplacement 5:56 Mobile Assault 10:50 Special Weapons 12:57 Tactical Support B Tier 3:17 Commandos 4:34 Lend Lease Assault
S: Royal Artillery, Royal Engineers, Vanguard Operations A: Advanced Emplacements, Mobile Assault, Special Weapons Regiment, Attack Support Regiment B: Commandos, Lend and Lease
Why commando in B tier? In my opinion its a solid A or S tier depending on your preference playstyle. Commando regiment has a nice aggressive playstyle and comparing to other faction commanders its somewhat similar to OKW luftwaffle ground force, US Airborne company, Ostheer blitzkrieg, and soviet shock army.
What I love about Vanguard is that it lets you have the ability to capture Victory points at the near end with the Churchill Crocodile, while itself shreds any infantry that tries to decapture the victory point. Good thing I bought a good commander while it was on sale.
I would argue that you overlooked what the brits need the most, and desperately: the ability not to get completely fucked in the early game. Brits have no answer to sturmpios and mgs early, thus both okw and ostheer have the ability to immediately take control of key points away from you early and there's nothing you can do about it and then, as you said, brits lacking in indirect fire means you will always be fighting an uphill battle to get those points back. Early game tommies are just awful at flanking. Lack of smoke, expensive grenades (on top of expensive infantry)... I argue that Lend Lease is S tier because you can actually shut down Sturmpios with Assault sections and then smoke the MG and get rid of that too. The fact that I'm not guaranteed to lose early is just amazing. I don't care what comes at 10 CP, if the jerries lock the fuel+WP down with bunkers, pak guns, flak guns etc and I will never get there. Then comes Mobile Assault. 5 man engies are a fine replacement for Assault Sections, but you also get late game rocket arty AND commandoes. Unlike lend-lease, it isn't guaranteed to instantly win you the first crucial fight, but it can still clutch it out and then transition to better late and mid. The only thing that can come close to these two in terms of essential utility is Royal Arty, because late game slug fests are often decided by indirect fire and Royal Arty deletes hard points like no other. I don't care what the other doctrines have to offer, even if those things are 'better', they don't help with the greatest weakness of the brits: the very early and the very late game. If I have the luxury to 'hold the line' I'm already winning. I'm also playing brits, I'm very good at sitting behind green cover and pew pewing, I need attacking tools. Therefore, Mobile Assault is the only S tier doctrine. Saves you from losing early, gives you commandos to push in the mid game and land mattress to dislodge late-game entrenchment. Petard is great, I'm sure, but deleting one unit is not my concern, dislodging layers of AT guns, bunkers, Schwer, MGs, AA guns... is.
8:40 In one thing perimeter overwatch is superior to Hold the Line. It applies to every sector on the map, not just frontlines. So if somebody decaps a point and pushes onwards into another sector he will be hit. Also for the same reason it can help against dives. And I am not sure about that but I believe the artillery arrives quicker than the planes
The strafing run in the fhq is still very strong. It pins down inf within an big area and deal damage like crazy to inf. It almost always wipes a squad if its just smallest down in health
Tact support deserves to be S tier. Raid sections are not a must call in just cause you have access to them. You're better off not getting them at all. Command aura extremely underrated, especially late game where you can put it on the crocodile. The Resupply operation extremely good if you have USF ally, you can crew the drops and reinforce them extremely fast with amubalance nearby, or give them to an ally (in case you didn't know, reinforcement timer reduces dramatically while activated). Observation post also good, it reinforces if you use it on a building, and its abilities are borderline OP. Nothing they can do to stop the artillery cover ability. The recon loiter from it last pretty sure 1min30 sec (roughly), extremely long time if axis has no AA. Then crocodile a chad on its own. Put command aura on crocodile, it only slows down the flamethrower reload, not the cannon. Can take a beating with its HP and armor while buffing nearby units and have recon hovering it when you can.
Keep it up with the videos! I personally think the commando regiment is pretty much top tier for team games. You can clutch a lot of games due to all its capping abilities. I think it is underrated because people compare it with the vanguard operations, People be like "heh, retreat plane better than commando plane",, even though they want to achieve very different things. Very ammo intensive, yes, but having so much early CP skills gives you a really good edge.
I’m trying to get better with Commando unit as I see it played a decent amount. I struggle too just feeling vanguard is better. The vanguard raid allows vehicles to cap, commando gives smoke but infantry only. Vanguard commandos are actually way more expensive than commando reg, so commando reg is superior here. Vehicle repairs is awesome, I have found it better than the commando infantry buff. I prefer the commando mortar call in in most situations to the croc. I find vanguard skill planes better than air supremacy. So I’m really torn on the two for sure.
The commando reg is meh. 4 out of 5 abilities are call-ins, some are expensive. Don’t forget that you must also spend muni for brens, grenades, piats, mines, minesweepers, use some abilities of units like smoke round, c4, tulip rockets (don’t forget to upgrade first), tank commander etc. So you are stuck with 2 abilities (commando and airstrike) rather than have all 5. Otherwise you would loose way before you can start spaming all of the abilities. That’s why vanguard better - you use all 5 and don’t get rolled over by better equiped enemy
Commando is good for huge maps, being able to drop in a commando squad anywhere, plus constantly spam off map support and soke raid, which commandos can shoot through... Downside is all your points will need to be ammo capped, which will piss off your dumb team mates with zero tactical skills who just push fuel to suicide thier tanks.
I want to have whatever they are having. What happened to their best friend, the one with the backward cap that was contradicting everything. On a good note, the word sucker wasn't use profusely.
Lend lease is S. Unlike most cqb units you don't lose a snare on assault sections, you get smoke and white phosphorus nades, and you don't need to tech bolster squads as early. The strafing is also amazing. Sure, you might only use 3 abilities from it, but it punches hard.
@@Sprintzs Mostly the list seems completely random.. there are no real criteria whatsoever. I did a reddit post with a 1v1 tier list for all factions, and I set fairly clear criteria for what each of the tiers meant and I can justify why each commander is where it is. Not just "eh these abilities are great! S tier! The brit commanders are all great!"
Thank you for the vids. and overall, I believe a good look on the british commanders .However, I do think there are some problems with it that you may want to consider. British and us mortars are a lot worse than the soviet mortar options and because this is a 3v3 or 4v4 situation, you usually have a soviet for that. Just because of that, you don't need that shitty mortar I believe, so land-lease should be maybe "C" tier. Also with sextons, it's good if you don't have a usf ally. Cuz then usf just can go with priests, which are better sextons. So maybe arty. isn't that good and imo, not even comparable with engineer so probbaly the lowest "S" or highest "A". And others already told about the weapon drop so I'm not mentioning that.
For reference. Perimeter Overwatch starts the moment you press it. Unlike hold the line. It also tracks units on the move much better. Designate command vehicle gives massive bonuses. Such a penetration and reload. And buffs all infantry accuracy and reload as well. It makes firefly’s shoot incredibly fast. Recovery engineers have higher repair rate and smoke. With heavy engineers they have the highest repair rate The land mattress is good as rocket arty but in a different way from everything else. It’s a siege piece. You can’t just shotgun a blob with it but you can just lay waster to an area better than all of the other rocket pieces. It’s more similar to a howitzer just in a shorter time.
Also you CAN'T drop weapons for your allies with Tactical Support [EDIT: Special Weapons, sorry]. Come on guys please, do a bit of research on these abilities before making a video...
12:30 There something you guys need to try special infantry gets sniper rifle that means they wipe squads pretty fast if you have 3 and they can hit destroy any tank if you have your ressuply track near, also if you put 2 vickers to normal troops they get so much boost (lutenient 2x vickers normal squad 2x vickers engeniers 3x vickers < not sure about this) i have seen your videos and you seem not to use vickers or special infantry
Special weapons is S tier, mobile reinforce point that has a 50cal and drops weapons, crocodile for late game pushes, hold the line single handedly wins games ✔️
I play nothing but brits in 4v4 2k+ hours, the guy at the bottom clearly doesn't play brits. The ONLY S ranked commander is the mobile assault commander, every other commander is pretty much useless compared to it. You should never be going Brit inf as brits, they have the worst inf in the game, you're going to want to rush support role units and tanks, use eng to back them up. The Land mat is the ONLY arty the brits actually have that's worth building, it's cheap and made to actually wipe inf, their normal arty tank is just horrible, I'd never build it, it's made to destroy bases but they can just move them or build another one, it's cost to performance completely falls off.
Also please don't put Command Vehicle on the AVRE. It DOUBLES it's petard reload speed. That's a huge nerf.
Usually i put it on croms, since late game the Comet completely outclasses the crom
