- Intense action packed US Special Forces helmet cam combat footage shows US Special Operations Forces In heavy combat during an assault on IS-K position In Afghanistan sometime within 2017.
The soldiers are seen assaulting a IS-K held position in their armoured vehicles and on foot while being backed by heavy fire support from mortars and airstrikes obliterating any source of visible resistance.
The video was filmed by the turret gunner of one of the vehicles who was embedded with the joint task force comprised of Special Operations, Infantry Soldiers, and Afghan Commandos in the Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.
While there is not much context out there about the excat details of the operation it can be assumed the this battle happened in the Achin district of Nangarhar, Afghanistan where IS-K had a significant stronghold with occupied compunds and a tunnel complex to thicken their defense.

I get the impression that modern soldiers can almost never really see what they're shooting at.
It's just suppressive fire
If a .50 bullet wiz by your head 5inches away your still gunna have a bad day lol
Suppressive fire, meant for the enemy to keep their heads down and not fire at you.
They see a lot more than the soldiers during World War One ever saw. Trench Warfare. Chemicals and gas masks. Spraying randomly with a machine gun into the foggy abyss.

Churchill described 99% of the GWOT. I can’t recall the exact number but apparently almost 80% of all engagements in Afghanistan were beyond the maximum effective range of both sides’ small arms and resulted in no casualties from small arms. The GWOT is a joke lmfao

While watching this video, we think to ourselves: oh wow, that looks awesome, I'm going to play battlefield
But those soldiers knew that they could die at any moment. It is strange and terrible that what we consider "something fantastic" for others is a struggle for life.
more than a struggle for life, the life of a hitman. You get paid for going to other countries and killing people. You are not sane if you do that.
Morbid curiosity.
True but sometimes taking it to the enemy seems to give them soldiers just as much pleasure.
That woooooo is some hit of adrenaline bet that rush feels crazy

I believe that you should always try to take something positive out of a negative situation. Even though the Taliban's rise to power is frustrating, the years of fighting have ensured that an enormous amount of U.S. soldiers have gained a lot of combat experience and, in this regard, are superior to soldiers from other countries. Especially with regard to the tensions between the U.S. and China or Russia, it is good to know that one can rely on a battle-hardened army. Experienced soldiers leave the service in tremendous numbers on average every 4-6 years. So a war that follows another war within this span you would be mostly correct.
@@michaellovett8773 I'm not an expert in this, but in case of a war, wouldn't they be drafted in again?
@@slicex3408 No. The soldiers would re-enlist on their own choice. Most would seek starting a family life. Depending on the size of the battle, maybe have enough NCOs to lead the newbies into battle.
@@michaellovett8773 Ok, thanks for clearing that up.
@@michaellovett8773 pretty sure they will mostly, once a soldier experience war, he sticks to it because his far away from his family for a long time
I'd like to talk with any troop that were on this op. I mean, its active... just not used to seeing this kind of movement and fire going down a road into it.
Pretty interesting.
