Always glad to see more Taiao tutorials; I'm trying to move from SpeedTree to Taiao but there's so very little resources for the latter around currently

The accent is close enough that I always imagine Obi Wan Kenobi is guiding me through these tutorials

..Kidding? (Sorry but I'm not pretty convinced.. I'm sad to notice that it is getting harder and harder to sell the highly overpriced x-particles).

    Nice!
Taiao is a very promising tool and I am using it well in my current project.
But it looks like it needs a lot of additional parameters and improvements. (Especially in the Growth animation part).
    - Growth of leaves and flowers is not smooth
    - When growing, Bend or angle values should also be able to animate.
    - It seems necessary to add a parameter to adjust the overlapping amount of Growth of each element.
    - If MoGraph can refer to the position of leaves or flowers, it seems that more expressions can be expanded.
    - More variations and curve adjusters of each option should be added.
Please continue to update. thank you

Very useful tips. I wonder mine not showing any materials like yours, could you please tell me how I can bring this grass materials, thank you

Very good tutorial and very useful.
One thing I couldn't figure out is when I want to add wind, I have to add it individually on each element. Not in the general.
Therefore, if I want to use not a terrain, but a more complex shape to generate vegetation, if a flower is left at a very different angle, the wind as it is applied before cloning it, goes the other way in the final cloner. I don't know if I could explain myself well. Thank you!

hold on where did those textures come from? Do they need to be imported from somewhere else?

Nice! Thanks for the tutorial. I tried to animate a plane with a displacer but it causes the grass to have to recalculate as the displacer animates. Is there anyway to have the scattering of geometry stick? Thanks

Same question here! is there any way to have it stop recalculating the surface? Also, there's a forces tab but what if I want other forces to be affecting this grass?

Is there a way to convert the materials associated with the preset flowers to a different render engine without it becoming unlinked to the flower generator's materials?

    • @INSYDIUMLTD
      @INSYDIUMLTD  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Tim,
They will only convert and stay linked if they have already been assigned manually using the selection tags in the object manager, which can be more limiting as for example, you can't have multiple flower layers each with their own material. So manually reassigning the newly converted materials is the way to go. We will pass this feedback to the Development Team.
      -Thanks

@@INSYDIUMLTD OK thanks for the reply.
Would love to see a feature integrated where this is built in. When you want to create a forest or a garden, it's a big drawback to have to swap out everything manually.
      Thanks again!

I seem to be struggling to make taiao grass work with vertex maps, any one having any better luck?

x-particles is a convoluted mess when it comes to UI. you can tell they have been piling on new features for years without thinking through the usability. cant wait for Maxon to finally come out with their own particle system...
