I like how Kathleen said Sam was “supposed to die” and “kid die all the time” just for herself to get killed by a kid

Henry asking “what did I do” over and over again hits so much harder than the “its all your fault” in the game. Just the look in his eyes when he realizes he killed his brother. I lost it.
i love that he has his brother answer “tunnels” because he knows the importance of not leaving the deaf out of the conversation
The old man sniper Anthony was probably not actually a bad aim. Kathleen wanted Anthony to keep the party suppressed long enough for her group arrive.
I like to point out that the old man sniper wasn't trying to actually shoot them. He was keeping them pinned down until everyone else arrives.
There's something unsettling in realizing that Sam was just sitting there because he's deaf. An infected listens for their prey. Even if he ever went to go full on clicker he couldn't. Ellie broke her promise and fell asleep, so he was just sitting there. Waiting, screaming from the inside. As his brain was slowly eaten away. And until someone touched him, or came in his view, he would sit there forever.
And when Ellie touched him, Sam saw his own body attack her. Instead of becoming the superhero he always wanted to be. He became a monster, crying for his brother to help. He didn't even hear the shot. Just his vision slowly fading to black. He spent all night trying not to fall asleep. Then suddenly his eyes were slowly closing, afraid of what would happen once he woke up, but he never did.
Bill and Frank's story was sad, in a stoic kind of way, but just like Bill said at the end, it wasn't tragic. They'd lived a full life. Here Sam and Henry had hope, a chance, and a whole life ahead of them. Henry was so good that he protected Ellie before even realizing what he was doing. It was instinctual. That comes from deep inside. Henry finally became the superhero Sam knew he could be, he just didn't know he'd be the monster. So Henry's first time killing. Was his own little brother.
A little like Kathleen said, this kind of goodness, makes it hard to live in such a tragic world.
It hadn't even dawned on me why Sam was just sitting there. I've watched this like 5 times already, and each time it strikes me as odd that he hadn't attacked Ellie while she was sleeping. I knew he was deaf but never considered that he didn't attack her because he couldn't hear her. I'm slow like that.
Re: Joel's aim, it makes sense with his trauma over Sarah that he missed multiple times against the clicker that was a little girl.
Nah, it has to do with the angle...I don't think he can aim for that little clicker because he was on the other side of where she came in, if you noticed the shot direction from the previous clicker he shot at the back of that car when Ellie got into the car. Besides, it's harder to aim for a smaller target.
If you meant trauma that he was little shaking yes but like reply said I don't think he had a clear shot also
The windows of the vehicle were also filthy and it was nighttime. He had no real idea where Ellie was in the vehicle.
I think Henry didn't kill Kathleen's brother, but told FEDRA of his location/hideout, which let to him being caught and later executed. That's why Kathleen says she visited him in prison, and he told her to forgive. He wasn't killed right away, he was caught because of Henry.
So his first actual kill was his brother, that meant the world to him.
This comment made this whole situation so much more excruciating 😭

Kathleen plot is definitely an extension of Ellie plot in Game 2 and honestly i got both of them is pretty easy to talk on what you will do in these situation but grieve doesn’t give a fvck about if you are the leader of the rebellion or a cleaner, that’s why i can’t hate on them like when love ones die cause other making decisions on it, it’s hard.
It's also an adult mirror of Henry and Sam. Kathleen is Sam. Michael is Henry. He protected his baby sister before and through an apocalypse. He led a revolution to try and stop the evil that was threatening her. He was a good man, just like Henry. But unlike Henry, a whole ton of people were depending on him, not just one. Losing him made her snap. I can't help but think an adult Sam would have done much the same if someone took Henry from him.
Kathleen's fate demonstrates how true the phrase "revenge is a double-edged sword" is.
Joel was hitting every shot actually, he missed 2 with the car and 2 with the little girl clicker, maybe your eyesight is missing

what big changes that he didn't like does the guy keep talking about? at first I thought it's the kathleen character and rebellion and infected in the tunnels but he could have just said 'those things weren't in the game and i liked it better that way' and it doesn't spoil any future events, am i missing smth???

Edit: maybe the split up in the tunnels but the show has been doing that (truncating the gameplay sections) the entire time it feels like
Let's be honest, there was no way to deal with that sinkhole. 34:22 Henry didn't kill Kathleen's brother, he just gave him up and he was beat to death in the FEDRA prison. Henry just meant that he basically led him to his death by giving him up.
Henry knew they would kill him. He doesn't have to personally pull the trigger to be responsible for that death. The moment Henry gave michael to Fedra he effectively murdered the man.

What was the “big change” that was so drastic? I mean they made changes for sure but nothing that was so dramatically different
i think maybe that sam reveals to ellie that he's bitten and ellie tries to save him with her blood?
@@wendybijellberg That's the only thing I can think of and it's a vast improvement both for the impact of the scene and for Ellie's character. They used the fact Sam is now deaf to create this sequence of events and it worked wonderfully. No idea what this guy was so bent about.

I wonder if sam being deaf is supposed to say something about joel having hearing issue. Like its a warning/premonition that having hearing prob puts u at greater risk in apocalypse. Maybe if sam could hear, he would know where to move so that the infected didnt bite. They were under car so he may not have been able to use sight to know.

Idk Why People Are So Shell Shocked Or Act Like They Got Blindsided & Didn't Get A Heads-up That Their Was Gonna Be A Lil Bit Of Changes In This Show Different From The Game They Literally Did It In Episode 1, There's Nothing Wrong Wit A Lil Bit Of Changes Where It Doesn't Feel So Repetitive, Boring & Stale, People Are Just To Focused On The Changes & Not Enjoying The Episode, You Have To Want Something That's Fresh & Different But Still The Same, Otherwise What's The Whole Point
Exactly. No one is going to want to watch a video game. They have to adapt it to a new medium and certain things are not going to translate well from game to television, plus you can alter the side stories, sometimes very drastically, without affecting the arc of the main story.
The pareles between this and part 2 are amazing the revenge plot

Its very well executed joel is starting to feel comfortable with ellie and he lets his guard down and falls asleep on his left side everytime Joel's lets his guard down something happens but them walls keep coming down so when u see joel up as the sniper you can see him shaking his only thought in that moment was to keep her alive in his mind this was NOT going to happen again then the fear in his face when Sam was attacking ellie poor joel 😢

Well, there really isn't a bad guy good guy in this show (except for Bill, Frank, and Michael). Everyone are in the grey. If you're in Bryan's side, they probably also thought they were just robbing people (they can't possibly know whether who they're robbing are good or bad people)...which is pretty much what Joel did. This episode taught us about moral dilemma...that not everything is black and white and the world isn't divided into villains and heroes. Henry traded his brother's life at the expense of Kathleen's brother's life, does that make Kathleen a villain because she seeks vengeance out of hurt? When you love someone who is very kind and an inspiration to yourself and others, their death is much harder to let go, so I do understand Kathleen's blindness for revenge....
That "I'm sorry" note is like Ellie saying to Sam "I'm sorry I can't save you", "I'm sorry my blood didn't work", and "I'm sorry I fell asleep and didn't stay awake like I promised".

The only thing I don’t like about this episode is in the game Ellie was not aware that Sam was infected, in the show she was aware yet said nothing to Henrry until the next day
She was trying to save Sam, it's easy to forget that she's still a kid because of what she's been through. She genuinely thought her blood was gonna cure Sam, it showed her innocence. In next ep preview they showed us a dialogue from Ellie and she confirmed she did try to save Sam. I think she felt that if she told Henry (means Joel would also find out) it would be chaos and Joel would try to kill Sam, so instead she kept quiet and see to it herself that Sam gets cured. This is also a reflection of how throughout the series, she kept some information to herself which she shouldn't have.

If one character does something different I’m allowed to talk about it and it doesn’t mean I’m criticizing/ hating the whole show
