Reviewers who complain about curved screen edges - do you actually use the phone in a case, like everyone else in the world? All the problems of the curved edge (e.g. phantom touch) completely go away when you put the phone in a case, especially with OnePlus first party cases.
Very fair. I have a 12, not an R, and I dislike the curved screen. In a case you don't tend to hit the edge accidentally but it can still happen. Thankfully it is my ONLY gripe about my 12!
Put a screen protector a little to far on one side, and most cases lift it up. Biggest gripe when I used my Samsung Note 20 Ultra, which had a curved screen.
Curved edge makes it so that even more dust gets accumulated on the sides of the screen as they literally curve inside... also applying a screen protector is difficult and expensive + the display itself is much more fragile due to it being curved

This doesn't have video output so it's not a very good PC replacement. You can replace PC functionality with an Android phone or tablet if you're not going to require desktop software. But you probably want something with video output. OnePlus 12 has it but the 12R does not because it uses USB 2.0. So you can't use it with an external monitor. If you need desktop versions of Microsoft office or something then you probably want to keep the windows machine. Or if you use get steam for gaming.
To me, they won't REALLY be back until they go back to Oxygen OS pre Color OS. Heck, I and many others didn't like Oxygen OS 11, but 12 and later is bascially just Color OS, and not very good at all. Heck, I'd take One UI over Color OS, and also benefit from the high amount of updates I'd get, even at the lower-end.

From European point of view the OnePlus 12 is great while 12R is totally pointless model. It is specs wise very similar to OnePlus Nord 3, which costs almost half as much. And price of the 12R is quite close to OnePlus 11 which is still much better phone.
Hot take: stock ASOP is an absolute snore-fest skin with missing QoL features and I'm glad OnePlus chose to refine OxygenOS and ColorOS together, doesn't matter if it slightly ever look so similar to iOS (or the better design element of it)

If you "trade" in a old phone you get $100 off. They send you a package label but they dont check if you did send it. Also applied a 10% off student discount from my old school account. Got it all in for $350. Not bad for that price.
Really? i have a redmi note 8 pro. How do i trade it?
my fav is the 7 pro. but ive had the 9 pro and now i wanted the 12 but had to settle haha for the 12r and i must say it is very very good. highly recommend it. get one.
no always on option?what?
is this a good replacement for my potato pc or should i get a pc worth $600?
I beg to differ. Oxygen OS was extremely bland and boring. Colors os is so much better.
@travisbloomfield303 Sometimes boring is better. Sometimes simple beats complex.
Old oxygenOs is dead forever. Oneplus ceo already confirmed it months ago
New oxygen OS is good. OneUI is literal trash with all the bloatware and useless features that slow the phone down.
@@joezmoma19285 yes, and its also about to get AI features for global
PLEASE HELP ME, I'M CONFUSED BETWEEN ONEPLUS 12R AND REALME GT 6
I am not confused, i am deadlocked between the GT 6T, This Phone and the GT 6.
Does it have edge features like galaxy edge phones had. Like lighting for notifications or calls? Edge panels? I ordered mine the 256gb and 16gb ram yesterday and getting it next week and hoping might get it early. Crossing fingers. 🤞
Did you get yours? i was thinking of ordering the same to replace my Galaxy S20. can't pull the trigger between s24+ and oneplus 12r.
@@StiDjuife Yes, and it is sweet. Best phone I ever had so far. Fast with 16gb ram. Mine is the USA version with 80 watt charging but still fast on charging.
@@StiDjuife Did you get one of either of those?
Honest opinion I am using the one plus 12r for 3 weeks now and I experience a lot of frame drop while gaming it would stuck at 60fps after 17 mins of gaming
12r or realme gt6?? 😃
I bought a oneplus one back in 2014 and have only had oneplus since
I like the 6ro I loved the full display and a camera that popped up still looks amazing
In fact, Color OS is the best skin on android
Its ass, oxygen os is so much better
yessir
This is my dream phone I want ...!!!! 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
Yeah, why no Always On Display? That's not a "flagship" feature, there are no hardware limitations. That's a OnePlus decision for some reason
It does have always on display, watch Flossy Carter's review. Not sure why Ryan is saying it's not there.
@@matthewharper7941 Ahh, I just watched that. Thank God lol, I have to have AOD Thanks!
It is there...using it right now also
Fav Oneplus must be the 6T, despite lack of headphone jack.
Rocking my Oneplus 8pro for 3 years already. The beast
Same
This is now 399€ in Finland. Worth of buying?
Yes
I am having a hard time deciding between Xiaomi 13T Pro and OnePlus 12R...
Leaning towards 13T Pro, but please comment with some input 👍🏻
I already using miui for more than 5 years now. I already feel boring with this ui. Currently my phone is poco f4.
So for me, i will choose 12R, but if you new to miui and looking for a better main camera, go for 13T Pro.
Edit : and i also love the look of curved screen 😅
@@ERROR-dr7zz i have the Poco F3 now and are used to Xiaomi MIUI, but overall the 13T Pro gets plenty of praise..
Just cant figure out if the camera on the 12R is so bad? 🤷🏻♂️
Have decided to wait and see what the Nord 4 is bringing to the table and decide after this...
Thanks for your reply 👍🏻
anyone faced software or multitasking issues ? I heard oneplus famous for their software issues ?
From European point of view the OnePlus 12 is great while 12R is totally pointless model. It is specs wise very similar to OnePlus Nord 3, which costs almost half as much. And price of the 12R is quite close to OnePlus 11 which is still much better phone.
Yeah I recently got everyone in my house Oneplus 11s for nearly half the price of the 12R
yeah
I hate this new "oxygen os" it's so annoying to use on my OnePlus 10T. I should've stayed on oxygen os 11 lol
It has Always On
While charging, it heats up a lot until 70%
Hot take: stock ASOP is an absolute snore-fest skin with missing QoL features and I'm glad OnePlus chose to refine OxygenOS and ColorOS together, doesn't matter if it slightly ever look so similar to iOS (or the better design element of it)
It doesn't have always on display?
It has
Just dont see the point of this model when OnePlus 11 has the sam chip and everything else better, and the price now is pretty similar.
Does it have green line issue?
No
as webcam , resulation, lag , heating ?
My 12r is coming tomorrow. Can't wait .the last oneplus i had i bealive was the 7 whichu i broke like evey other phone I've had lol
How is the phone?
Ordered one today.
Hi.does it have green line problem?
No always on option? Why??
There is, watch Flossy Carter's review. His review unit has AOD.
Flat panel it should be. The accidental touches with the curved edges, bruh.
I can honestly say the 12R is in my top 3 OnePlus devices of all time. 1. 3T 2. 7 Pro 3. 12R
They really went back to those good old days with the 12R. I used a pixel 7 pro before going to the 12R and I'm so happy I did the switch.
Bro, when you change channels on me, I get confused 😂
I had to return the OnePlus 12 because the PWM killed my eyes even with the anti flicker settings. Great phone though.
Wdym? What's the issue?
@@tomcrate5625 ikr, pwm dimming is better on oneplus 2160Hz in comparison to apple's 240Hz or samsung's 480Hz
@@4fgaming925 That’s actually the reason why I bought it. Sadly, even with that high of PWM frequency it made no difference I couldn’t use it for more than 5 mins before my eyes hurt and I felt nauseous.
@@tomcrate5625 Google “PWM Sensitive” if you aren’t familiar with it.

My favourite OnePlus phone was the OnePlus 7, it was a barebones no bullshit phone for cheap. But I'm just absolutely blown away for the value for money OnePlus 11 provides
Used the 3, 7t pro and now ordered mine 12r.
How is it?
If the OnePlus 13 comes with a flat screen next year, I'll be trading in my S23U on it.
I used OnePlus 3 and 7. Ever since oppo merger I shifted to iOS but now I think it's time to go back to OnePlus with this 12r.
Too many flagships. Too many 'Ultra's. If a phone isn't under $500 I don't even see it.
I'll wait for a few more months, if the green line issue isn't there then it's a green flag for me to go buy one. 🤞🏻
no green line issue now
I want to buy it
so, it is so evident that i have made a gigantic mistake at this stage after i had selected oneplus 12 R over samsung s23 fe which had no doubt better cameras than this phone. let it be known that i had waited 4 years for this upgrade which was not much but I guess, you dont get what you really want in life
Man, this is going to be a huge upgrade from your 4 years old phone 😂 don't worry
I would not call this a flagship killer at all lol
I love my 8T 256 but time to upgrade
this phone or s23 .....in 2024?
I think S23 if U r ok with the 3900mah battery
S23 is my first choice before but i got op12r instead cuz its cheaper. I have no regrets getting this phone.. fast charging, very good batt. life and performance. Im not a fan of the camera but its ok since i barely use it 😂
thats an amazing looking phone 😍
How is a £650 phone classed as midrange, it's beyond me
Perhaps because the "top" range phones cost twice as much. Cut that in half and you have the "mid." Get it?
Mid cameras.
My only Oneplus was 8 pro and it was the biggest piece of shit I ever had. Had green ti ted screen, cameras was pathetic and battery life was crap. Totally lost the confidence in brand and there is no way I’ll ever give my money to them again.
oneplus 3-7 were great, 8-11 were bad and 12 is good. I had a 10r and it was dogshit, just like other chinese phones, I risked my money once again, and I am not at all dissapointed with the 12, its the best for the price
One plus 12 is a fantastic phone but we are getting ripped off by oneplus in the uk so I wouldnt buy one.
my favorite OnePlus is none. The moment u need help you are out of luck.
My favorites OnePlus are 2, 6 and 7t pro. And now, 12
ITUS NOT A FLAGSHIP KILLER cameras are horrible ke but you can get the loaded model on their sit for 365 plus tax. So for the money yes it holds up.
Complaining about curved displays in 2024 is so meh
Yes, I had OnePlus 3T too
I love onplus 6
❤
My God is it ugly though. And I don't mean the Genshin theme. The black one is ugly too. It's the camera hub. What were they thinking with that?
I dont mind my mom loves it (:
