I'm 74 years old and this is the first time I've listened to these guys. They now have a new fan. This is classic rock at it's finest.
74 years old with subcriptions such as ksi calling himself "The Light".
Stfu man lol
sad that youre 8 years late in the discovery but im so glad you made it, stay rocking my man
Buddy I felt like i found them late and the were from like an hour north from me and i was like 9 when this came out lol BLACK KEYS 4 LIFE!!!!!
got to know them via Gold on the ceiling, after that I found the other songs were even better, love em ever since
They are not 15 either so EVERYONE can rock! From teens to even 74.. at least!
I think this the black key's best song
+李政杰 This and Gold On The Ceiling. Awesome band.
+Chris M but lonely boy is really good too
+李政杰 It totally is
nothing beats Weight Of Love
Love tighten up, but I agree, this song rocks.
One of the greatest tracks ever. Still 100% going strong.
It still is now
@Budo Canada;indeed a broken heart IS blind,to EVERYthing but ITS own agony!!
Agreed
@@tomasoostindier4300 If you like this song, you will definitely like Way Back When by Jamison Faulkner‼️‼️
Yes!
I would pay an obscene amount of money to see them in a small club like that!
I used to go see them in clubs that small back in the day.
You got that right!
I would pay in food stamps
How great music is supposed to be heard. Not being blasted to deafening levels in a futile attempt to drown out the massive crowd.
@@kellymcg my dad took me to a black keys show in 2002 at the civic
The way they build up the song is so awsome!
It’s not even the full song. Listen to it on spotify
@@daan9094 you're the real mvp! Around a minute more of this satisfying masterpiece !
@Heir apparent even jesus had haters
apparent lmao. I guess. That's why they have Grammys and fame. Not that it's a measure of success but Wheres yours at bud?
@Heir apparent stfu you sound stupid as hell
This is so awesome, in 20 years there will be teens commenting saying, "i was born in the wrong generation" because this shit is an instant classic
True that, lmao.
+Big Ray So true
lol teens will do that no matter what
haha so true
it is good but it sounds alot like a zeplin song
Not only does this song kick ass in terms of rock n roll, but the lyrics are beautiful, and it has meaning beyond just catchiness. There's a sense of yearning and finding a spark of optimism after constant failures. Heard them live yesterday, and the echoes of thousands of people singing the same lyrics was haunting. Incredible band. My favorite band.
Respect.
Saw them a few weeks ago and SAME! Something about an entire group of people singing that gives me chills.
When it hits. Damn. It’s when the rise begins. F staying low.
I think this is a cover I might be wrong. But they did a great job.
However, the acoustic guitar is full of fluffed notes.
Im 13 and I’m so glad that I was born into a family of rock addicts
rock addicts lmao
After years ahead I returned to this song, I cried, and now I could find a clear meaning to the song.
It is not only for depression, it is about life going on, choices, failures, and being disconnected from what you were planning, what you dreamed and thought about yourself, it all disappears in reality, it stays in a "back part of the mind", it's still there to remind you, but you just go to another path after each step.
The song is a conversation with your mind, operator is your conscience, and you keep talking to pick the right path, but end up with another result you did not expect or want. The result is clearly, you end frustrated, your desires, your relationships, the lovely advices end up being nothing, so nether the voices calling is about your mind and your surrounding, and the final result is: a broken heart. So broken, that is blinded by his own thoughts and already known ways to find cure, but you are constantly sabotaged by your own mind. Operator, please, you know the way, you know what affects you, but the more logical as it is, you do not get pass by it the way you want, and the years passed. Maybe it's time to forget what you know.
As the tittle say, little black submarines is the small signs, the results, the steps, that keep coming small as they are, as black as what they result, taken as submarines by sinking from the reallity to a deep state of mind under the surface that you try to surpass. It's really in time for a deep change, the final part brings me angry, but enthusiastic too, the change from the accoustic part is clearly, the lyrics didn't change, it's all about your state of mind, hope was allways there. I'm pround of my evolution, and I know that better days are allways coming.
Yep, it's a nice song xD
Ok
k
Awesome meaning to the song
The song is about whatever you want it to be about. That's the beauty of music, you can interpret it anyway you'd like.
I saw them live in Cleveland last night and it made me cry for real. It just hit differently this year then it ever has. And what you said is spot on IMHO. Thank you for this post, because I couldn't figure out what made the tears come at the show last night.
Man, I was born in the right generation.
No you weren't. This is one of the few musicians that are good, then you have modern rap which is garbage.
+Dylen M It's not hard to find good rock musicians these days, but it's hard to find good rap artist...
Everyone is.
+Payton Goupil look up hopsin, he's actually good.
joshua Marent I'll check him out, have you tried Deltron or Aesop rock? Those guys are amazing.
Oh can of beans, the oyster's calling me...
Is it a cult of blue oysters?
Spazz perhaps a blue oyster cult?
Oh Don Piano
@@jamesmcdermott9275 it means bring a can opener , crackers and some hot sauce .
I can't unhear it! Whyyyy
We sang this song at my dad's funeral six years ago and I still cry every time I hear it. It's so beautiful and it meant so much to him.
I dont think these guys have recorded a bad track, ever.
Frances Rose False, Remember When, Side A
***** they wrecked side A, side b however is really good
Frances Rose I agree with you wholeheartedly
The new shit sucksss
Frances Rose I agree with you and your hotness
This drumer, this energy, those voices, this solo, this classic style combined with a modern touch... Awesome band, awesome song. Shit it makin me wanna be a rockstar. Thanks.
Play it with your friends. Not a lot of effort. Lot of fun. Perfect ROI.
Pat Carney is #3 after Bonzo and Ginger Baker... and maybe Keith Moon
It's 2021 and this is still one of my favorites.
I heard this on the radio recently and was shocked. Such a badass song
This is one of the greatest songs ever written, in a time when we thought great songs would never be written again. .
Meh, the main riff is ripped straight from Jethro Tull's Aqualung.
@@jjames75 and the rest of the song is a stairway to heaven rip off
Sure is a "getting of wisdom kind of song".

@@zipzip8239 even that was a rip off!
@@zipzip8239 don't forget Mary Janes Last Dance. This song is boring and unoriginal
Rock legends of our generation.
don't forget foo fighters :D
The Foo Fighters are considered the Rock Gods of our generation
That doesn't say much for your generation.
T. C. Bliss i think he means that they are still active at our generation,
they're one of the last.
Gabriel Relosa lolwut? I think you meant Nirvana.
Excellent band. Rock n roll is alive in this century.
Both bands are indie rock/alternative rock in this century and both are awesome. ... R U Stupid?

I sit here listening to this song while my friend spends his last days in the hospital, one of the few things that can calm me down besides our visits. I can't explain the depth, meaning and solace that this song brings to me, but all I want to do is scream the lyrics until I see my guts. Thank you for making this song.
You have no idea how difficult it is to find this song when all that you remember is “broken hearts”
Try "oh can of beans" :D
Best Supernatural song of the season to date!
Hell yea
Kenny Ray Seals I don't know...carry on wayward son is pretty awesome too
Rachel Lawson When I heard this song, it wasn't the finale yet so yeah. Carry On Wayward Son is incomparable! Love it the very first time I heard it.
that's where I heard this song! I couldn't remember, thank you!
Funny how you mentioned that. I was gonna listen to the Rolling Stones '"Play with Fire" after this.
this is rock perfection.
This is the best Black Keys song ever. I could listen to it on repeat 100x and not be sick of it!
Too bad the acoustic guitar is shit. Mistakes aplenty.
This is a masterpiece. Their best song undoubtably
This song sounds like Led Zeppelin, The weight of love sounds like Pink Floyd..
The Black keys have the rare ability to still make good rock music in 21th century, without leaving behind its creators.
Yeasssss
+JeckoDuster for me The weight of love sounds like AIR
They sample those songs haha still really good tho :P
"21th"
Also "bullet in the brain", sounds similar to "breathe" from pink floyd
I have been a music buff since the early 50's and I can guarantee THESE guys are absolutely right up there with the best of them. They should weather nicely over the years.
Well I have been playing the guitar since 1990 and the acoustic at the beginning has more fluffed notes than you will ever hear.
I'll never forget my introduction to The Black Keys-- this video being posted on the now-defunct Nintendo Video app for the 3DS what feels like a lifetime ago. Probably a defining moment of my childhood.
I dedicate this song to the Indonesian soldiers who died in their submarine. RIP legends
My salutations to team KRI Nanggala-402
RIP to the lost sailors but not your song to dedicate
@@excitableboy7031 hey, thanks buddy! I’m well aware I didn’t write the song but I was referring to this particular jam session. 😘
@@excitableboy7031 lol how do you not fall down more
Fuck me, I still get chills after the 1,000th listen
And everybody knows, a broken heart is blind.
Ten years ago, when I was only 17, they played at a festival in my country. I was so hyped that they were part of the lineup as they have been my favorite band back then (and still are one of my favorites, but I like their older records more). I just HAD TO go there. So I took a summer job to be able to buy the tickets. It all worked out and so I attended the festival with a former friend of mine. Their show was a blast, naturally.
And the following night , when I was already preparing for sleep in my tent, a guy played this song on guitar and sang along outside. I felt a strong pull to join him but was too shy to. It was special anyway. Just like the whole festival experience, also because it was my first. ❤
When I saw them perform live with this song, phones and matches raised , I literally felt the energy in the arena. I'll always love this song🤟🕯
Every day I listen to 20-50~ new songs, this is the 7th time I listen to this today, and I won't stop doing it in a while.
This is a band that cannot be fucked with.
My teacher played this song in class and I loved it and had to find it

I listened to this track for the first time and I got goosebumps. Is this normal? I found out about The Black Keys today and this is the third track I've listened to but it's getting out of control already.
cheers, listen to weight of love, your touch and more if you haven't already. classics if you'd ask me.
Tanmay Setia I'll check them out! Thanks.
Totally normal! Little Black Submarines and Gold On the Ceiling are the ones I can't get out of my head.....then there's Howlin' For You and Lonely Boy....and.....well, when you're hooked, you're hooked.
simich absolutely normal!! there is a lot of talent involved with this band! I'm sure they'd be pleased to know you had that reaction!!
Same.
Little black submarines
Operator, please put me back on the line
Told my girl I'd be back
Operator, please
This is wreckin' my mind
[Chorus]
Oh, can it be?
The voices calling me
They get lost and out of time
I should've seen it glow
But everybody knows that a broken heart is blind
That a broken heart is blind
[Verse 2]
Pick you up, let you down
When I wanna go to a place I can hide
You know me, I had plans
But they just disappeared to the back of my mind
[Chorus]
Oh, can it be?
The voices calling me
They get lost and out of time
I should've seen it glow
But everybody knows that a broken heart is blind
That a broken heart is blind
[Verse 3]
Treasure maps, fallen trees
Operator, please call me back when it's time
Stolen friends and disease
Operator, please patch me back to my mind
[Chorus]
Oh, can it be?
The voices calling me
They get lost and out of time
I should've seen it glow
But everybody knows that a broken heart is blind
That a broken heart is blind
That a broken heart is blind

Thank you, Supernatural, for continuing to show me what good music is.

My favorite song by The Black Keys. Kickass song!
Crammer Jack I honestly think "Tighten Up" is their most popular song, but that's just my opinion.
Crammer Jack I love Rubber Factory.
Its a Fight Club favorite but of course there is no Fight Club...
Terrance Hill what?
@@stanleypodlinski5384 😂😂😂
The imperfections in that acoustic sound is what makes it perfect.
The mistakes.
Proper deep-souled magic💜 Love The Black Keys, they are one of best in terms of contemporary music. Authentic and unique in their music mastery!
Holly fuck is it just me or that solo sounds alot like Zeppelin, good shit here
nice profile picture
Thanks dude Musical Madman
Charlieh OR yeah I agree
Charlieh OR the solo is nothing like Stairway you silly hipster.
ggaccentc Wtf? I said It sounds like Zeppelin not like Stairway to Heaven

+Joseph Reyes ;)
I read this as soon as that part came up

+loufigs87 hahahaha everyone says that. I should've added more to it
saw these guys last week. they were incredible. the arena was sold out... they rocked it!!!! Especially when the lights dimmed, and he started singing this song while he played the acoustic guitar. It literally sent chills down everyone's bodies, as we all sang along - only to have the badass electric guitar kick in moments later as everyone started dancing. what a night
Nice! Three years later may I ask, where was it?
One of the last real Rock N Roll bands these days,,, Wish I could catch them live, I can only wish! Keep Rocking!!!
This song reminds me of Zeppelin's "Babe I'm gonna leave you", mostly the beginning.
For sounds like Stairway to heaven with a little touch of Mary Jane last dance of Tom Petty ;)
Jesus guys- Jimmy Page would NEVER make that many errors on a steel string guitar !
how's possible a human being to dislike this?
Exatamente cara não é possível
Must have been the White Keys.
Fr tho
Notreve Quadros not possible
Notreve Quadros my friend disliked because he had to play this on guitar with our band. He's playing the solo to this and "You Give Love A Bad Name" by bon jovi
Im 10 years old and ive known and loved the black keys since i was 5. I saw the concert in glasgow recently and it was AMAZING!
I've been listening to these guys pretty much as long as you've been alive (15 here, also around 5 at the time). Never been to a concert though, of any kind, still intend on doing that
I really appreciate how sweaty this band gets...
Very LedZep-ish when the electric part kicks in... love it.
When a song can invoke instant recollection of the classics, then it is a new masterpiece, not a new rip-off
Nicely put
Exactly. Every time I here it I wish I could share it with my dad. I know he would love it like all the classics he'd play when I was a kid. He's been gone 16 years. Sure do miss him, and this song makes it a happy memory.
I can't believe I had never heard of Black Keys until recently. These guys totally rock!
I love EVERY type of music and change genres to listen to every week. I was was stuck to The Black Keys for about two weeks and a half. Amazing artists in music!!
"A broken heart is blind"...
Holy sh*t, this is so true... Its like Im literally living this right now. My heart is just not seeing what is right in front of its eyes yet it wont change its course...
They've earned every bit of their fame. Touring, recording, touring, recording...you never get cheated outta your money at a show.
This band is probably one of my favourites I mean how can u pass this awesomeness that the black keys provide u
That split second of silence right at 1:05.... in between 1st and 2nd verse right after the chorus. Where the note comes crashing in and sends ripples up your spine.......... Yeah that's the magic of this song!
Perfect! My most heard song of the week - No doubt about it! C:

This song is awesome!
So glad The Black Keys will be performing at Optimus Alive'14 on July 11th!
It's awesome because Jetrho Tull wrote it 30 years ago under the name "AQUALUNG" 😋 lol

+ELIHU YHWH Buddy Rich? Dave Lombardo? Mike Pordnoy? Steve Gadd? Dave Grohl? Neil Peart? Dave Weckl? John Bonhan? Dood...
You could name a million more drummers and i still wouldnt care.
Watch any of those drummers and you'll see what you've been missing out on. Buddy here doesn't even compare
I DONT CARE , im pretty sure each one if those drummers are fundamentally better but i like Pats style.
ELIHU YHWH Hey, he's good. Not saying he isn't. However, if you're interested in the drums, those are the names you need to know.
Original, genuine, and soulful. Not many bands out there nowadays that have thier own sound and rock it like these guys. These guys are real musisians. Great duo.
This is the best song from The Black Keys, and I think I'm not the only one who thinks this way.
Just blows away my mind those drums are insane.
Stairway to Heaven's little brother
I love Fat Punk!
Simply the best band around at the moment don't care what anyone says every tune is pure quality 👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍
All hail The Black Keys

Roxel Tommo okay thanks :)
I can't stop to fangirling right now
Roxel Tommo I'm rewatching the entire show right now and I just finished that episode and this song stuck with me the entire time and it's absolutely fantastic. I'm a musician and this is why I do it. The raw emotion and feeling that music brings with every note is insane and this song articulates that so well
Han pasado 7 años y siempre estaremos aquí escuchando a The Black Keys
Not so long ago I was taking nap and suddenly in my earphones started playing awesome track that I didn’t know in that time…I had some spotify shuffle …And now I’m here for my daily portion of “Little Black Submarines” :)
Holy crap this is so relatable i discovered it the same way, through spotify shuffle
This song still goes hard
my music enjoyment has been black and white lately. black keys and white stripes
Berealzalot Dosays methinks this is something they wouldn't appreciate..seeing as the front men of the two bands got beef with each other..:)
blazhzh I am on jacks side I guess because I have became bored with the keys since the last 2 months. didn't take me long to realize Jack has way more to offer my ears.
