Thank you for this comment. I hope that not everyone believes the gun makes the player though. It is up to the player whether they want to take a reliable Secondary to back up their sniper gameplay to allow for pushing and approaching. Officer is an amazing choice. Sparks/Officer is a loadout as old as time.

It doesn't need any traits, it can work with any secondary. It's simply one of the most fun weapons in the game and feels so rewarding to drop a trio with.
The Sparks with iron sights is just so much fun. For scoped, I much prefer Vetterli, but for long range doinking with no scope, you can't beat old sparky.
To be fair, that's partially my issue with Sparks, and probably the reason why randoms that use it are almost universally despised. It basically forces you to play conservatively. Either you know very well what you're doing, and you're confident in your aim at all ranges, or you're most likely to stand back and play it safe. People tend to overthink, and do everything possible to not waste their shot, which makes them overcautious. Playing a Sparks can lead to so many missed opportunities, just because you don't want to take risks when one shot is all you have. In a game where almost every headshot is a kill (except at extreme ranges) why would you pick the Sparks? A Mosin will do basically the same job with an headshot, and if you hit a bodyshot you can always follow it up, unlike the Sparks. Same can be said for most long ammo. I feel like the Sparks is more a cumbersome burden than an advantage in most situations. That's obviously not to say the gun doesn't have it's perks. As you mentioned, it requires 0 perks to function at its peak, it's relatively cheap for the punch it packs, and is a great weapon in capable hands for a quick 1-2 teamshot or scare tactics. Let's be honest: the greatest strenght the Sparks has is its devastating psychological pressure. Knowing that you're potentially one hit away from being a walking corpse made of glass paralyzes most people. I've been pinned by a team running Sparks and it sure is a terrifying experience. One down, and you're permanently in one shot range. From a position of advantage, a capable Sparks marksman is an horrifying opponent to contend with... but the same can be said for 99% of the marksman weapons.

Great informational vid. @3:20 in the vid, I feel like Crytek could stop this from happening. Last night it happened to me 8 times in a 6 hour session. 4 times a teammate left after getting the first clue. I feel like if teammates are downed anywhere, you should not be allowed to leave the match unless the downed teammates are burnt out. And as for people leaving after the first clue, you cannot leave unless your entire team is with you. I think it would force people to play as a TEAM. If you’re gonna play like a McBaby back bish, just play solo🤷🏻♂️
I had alot difficulty learning to aim with weapons in hunt, as i didnt played as much multiplayer shooters and came mostly from the call of duty/planetside 2 scene. But the sparks was basically my tutorial for aiming in this game. It issent just a long range weapon. I learned to use it up close, learned to fire & switch to secondary. Learn to track hunters trough walls. Learn the perks of having some incendiary rounds at the ready for a long range barrel kill (okay this is gimicky but i just love doing that). Imo, it is the most versatile & all round best weapon in this game.
From the moment i first unlocked the sparks it has been and always will be my favourite rifle in the game. It sounds incredibly powerful, its cheap, lets you turn anything into a kill and is perfect for trying to achieve those meme kills like the flash bomb kill you displayed in this video. I like every variant and heavily used the sparks sniper as a solo and also in teams. As for special ammo i enjoyed all of them but very rarely picked FMJ as i wasnt trying to achieve insane range kills and would usually always fight within the sparks effective range. Alot of my sparks loadouts would include a fast firing secondary like the officer or spitfire or if i have the right traits conversion pistol with fanning, dualies or a hancannon shotgun variant if i have quatermaster.
I run sparks (with sniper) all of the time and I honestly never understood the aversion to helping your teammates. Sometimes you just gotta pull out that revolver and get some shit done, hell even hipfire with the primary if it comes down to it. Bottom line, just play with your team and everyone's life will be better.
I was the third teammate at 2:45 with the spark sniper who left. I had no idea I was playing with home real, but the two of us were popping off and had killed almost everyone. (I had traded with the next last to last person). That scumbag of a sniper didn't even try to see if we were burned before leaving, just immediately left. So glad you're calling him out!!! 😁
Heyo just to clarify something. I play similarly when I play snipers and the most probable cause as to why he ran without checking for burn is because you sort of get conditioned into not reviving your teammates when you have a playstyle like that. I had people camp my teammate's body waiting for me to come in range to revive them even going as far as waiting 10+ minutes to do so, or the biggest offender of them all: reviving your teammate just to die to them because they were mad that you played the way you did, disregarding the fact that you did save their hunter from certain death in the end by coming back for them.
@@zercogaming sigh. I get it dude. There's no use throwing your hunter away for no reason If you know that it's enough trap for sure.. But, that is no excuse to not wait and see if Burn happens. Taking that risk is just part of being a good and honorable teammate. The enemy had bounty, so he knew exactly where they were, and he could tell if they were camping or not. There's no reason he couldn't wait and see if he can get us up. There was no risk to him. It's kind of like an unspoken pact? In Hunt you always try to wait for the burn. Also, he did nothing the entire match but sit in that tower. It's not like he got unlucky with his shots, it's more like he never took a shot in the first place. 😁
I mean technically since this is trios their 3 rd could have been camping the body. As I said tho the most likely reason is because you get teamkilled a lot more often than you'd think if you go for a revive after a fight like that.
You sir, have convinced to start trying the Sparks rifle/pistol. I'm probably 150-200 into Hunt on console and have been hesitant to take it out so far.
Finally my favorite gun. But yea, u r right, this gun is hard to play team-wise. It requires a strong back up option like fanning pistol or officer/new army/spitfire/lemat(as a shotgun with option to follow up shots at range) or dolch if ur feeling cocky :) It's like... You are going to sacrifice a lot of scoping to help ur team win clutch combat scenarios. For fellow snipers who actually are having friends I do recommend to bring Bertie instead - much better for team play, more pressure, more quick scoping magics. No need to stay 1 location away from ur mates.
Damn I love your videos. You're easily the first person I come to for informative videos since I suck at this game. Your humour is hilarious and keeps videos engaging, so I don't doubt that you're gonna blow up in the future since even someone who doesn't play this game could find your videos entertaining. Your Gameplay videos are extremely impressive and show off interesting loadouts, which makes me want to give those weapons a shot so it's likely that others will too, diversifying the weapons in matches Love the content, keep it up you're definitely going far :)
Sparks pistol FMJ is tier 1 shit bro. You can use it in medium range and just drill fucking holes through buildings after jump peeking a corner. Am sixster, can confirm.
Spark is rather interesting gun. It’s more or less “Budget” Long Ammo Gun along with Budget Long Ammo Gun, Martini. But also one of the most powerful in its group of long ammo, held by 1 ammo mag. Also its “Sent you to front of death door to have some greeting with death reception table” is a menace when you lost even just small hp, or Max HP.
Something you didn’t mention is that the silenced sparks has less penetration than both the pistol and the rifles. It can’t penetrate a sheet of metal, while with FMJ, it can.
Since every weapon got pricier Sparks + Officer has become my favourite loadout in the game. I'm an average gamer (both in terms of playtime and skill) and prestiged a few ranks so I'm not super stacked on cash and this is a affordable while still flexible loadout although the Officer is probably too cheap for how good it is.
I just started playing Sparks Sniper solo and it is so fun once you get into a headspace similar to actual hunting. Its a relaxing little nature walk until you hear a twig snap, at which point you become the apex predator of the entire world at 150 meters
I did a duo game with my buddy when I had a shotgun and dual sparks pistols. He went down, and I had to do my best to save him. What a fricken thrill that was, shooting both pistols at the guy in the window, then reloading each pistol for 4 seconds each while keeping out of LOS and dodging bullets when they saw me. For the record, I did get one kill with them that match. Teammate tickled the guy and I finished him off. I also find it's way harder to use sparks in duos compared to trios. If your teammate goes down, you are screeeeewed if your aim is off that day.
That bit about snipers is so true. No matter the situation, most sniper players I had the joy of playing with want to sit in their nest. You could be 3v1 and push them for an easy kill but they rather aim at a wall waiting that either the wall magically disappears or that the opponent has a stroke and walks into them.
@@TheMeowse I dont blame them for missing shots. I blame them for consciously making the decision to not play as a team. If you dont want to play as a trio then go solo so we dont have to 2v3 every encounter.
For the last 2 weeks I’ve been working on a stalker beetle kill and despite my teammates running sparks with poison exclusively for that whole time I have yet to secure a kill. Honestly not sure why I can’t pull it off as it doesn’t seem too challenging in theory, but I’ve probably blown up a dozen Hunter that each somehow miraculously survive. So currently I’m not too happy with this gun, but I’m sure once I finish the quest I’ll go back to enjoying one of the more satisfying guns in the game.
My guy let me tell you that is frustrating, but if it helps I will tell you how I did it.....be warned it will hurt your pride, but I secured the kill. First make sure you got actual homies that has your back on this the second hardest part. Now for the real hard work find a team the more open the better I recommend around stillwater where there is non hard cover to hide in. Kill your target dont take 4x beetles take 2x for obvious reasons. Don't push let your homie who secured the kill for you rotate to create space for your opening while your other is positioning to secure the 2nd. Let them rez if they have resilience it will fail for obvious reasons, now buddy 2 should have killed the hunter who rez see above for one. Launch your 2nd beetle from hiding immediately the guy who got up will 50/50 either go for the rez immediately due to honor or retreat that's ok either way they will come back sell it harder with blank fires to obscure your teams real position your trying to get a immediate hit on rez which will kill. It's scummy, but it's next to impossible cleanly.
Idk if you're just doing it for the shits and giggles of getting the beetle kill or are doing the Billy Contracts, but what I did for the Stalker beetle damage and kills was just to have one beetle and 3 flashes. I would just flash someone and go melee the hell out of them while holding the Beetle.
Right now, my favorite loadout is sparks + lemat slugs. I use the lemat as my primary, and the sparks as my secondary. I get plenty of one taps from the slugs at close range, I love the lemat as a revolver for medium range, and the sparks is great for opening shots or the occasional sniping across compounds.
@@HomeReel That makes much, much more sense than what my brain went to. For some reason my brain just went to you two having suits on and briefcases next to your PCs x D
My new favorite load out is beirthier riposte with dual wielding sparks pistols. Insane ammo pool and the fire/reload rate of the main riffle is so nice I don’t need to ever switch weapons 90% of the tome
I have a sharps rifle reproductions both 32 inch, and 34 inch barrel. It is a heavy slow reloading rifle but when your launching a 535grain lead bullet at 1,250fps anything from white tail deer to African elephant goes down with confidence. It’s even noted that the 45-70 bullet is officially a T. rex killer if they were still alive.
If you ever do either an officer pistol or New Army pistol review, why not compare their respective upsides and downsides in one video? They both are pretty similar in practice and I think that a guide for them could be combined to better analyze their upsides and downsides.
i missed the one thing that pains a sporks main the most... deleting wagonloads of medkits without actually killing anyone because often when you hit someone they kind of disappear. its like shotgun terror but reversed from a distance. not a sniper btw.
Your one of 2 of my all time favourite Hunt Showdown TH-camrs. I've watched every hunt related video! Your humour is very fresh, funny and punfully creative! The other video which is my favourite is @Qbert His channel is Amazing and is a joy like yours to watch!
The way to use the sniper is the be medium distance behind your team and supporting them with cover fire and keeping an eye on the periphery of either side of your teammates - using your scope to see people from distance and taking shots forcing them to heal or reposition and flush the into your teammates- or they flush them out to your sightlines. Otherwise you can kill someone before they realize your team is there and both cover and support your teammates as they approach. losing a teammate to a well placed shot literally drops your success rate by 33 percent and they will now either back off and abandon their dead friend or try and recover them or readjust - anyway they have reorganize and replan and you have an advantage - they should NOT be just “kill farming “ outside the compound - that’s who you seem to meet up with in random lobbies It CAN be used to great effect with teams that have medium and long distance weapons if you actually participate- the problem is that randoms don’t- they don’t know how to use the snipers at close range- by placing yourself inside compounds at angles to support your teammates or using explosives and secondaries with your teammates to backup Please don’t lump all of us sniper users in the category with those cowards
I don’t comment often but every time I see one of these videos in my feed I get so excited especially when it’s one of my favorite guns. Thanks so much for these videos home.
Best gun to pair with imo is the officer, I started carrying it every round, it is the gun that gives firerate without a massive price jump. It has a 120rpm meaning 2 bullets a second and has 7 loaded letting you get several attempts at the guy you tag with a long gun or spam the trigger into somebody up close.
and the inverse happens with some shotguns guys that just sprint in front of everyone without stopping. The most frustating about the bad sniper is that when you die you spectade him leaving.
I really like the Sparks (especially the pistol with poison and shotgun combo) because I often one shot people randomly, or I throw a flash or hive bomb and end the job with a simple shot.
I started playing Hunt back in Beta, and to this day still favor the sparks over any gun. The whole allure of Hunt to me was "slow firing guns." None of this CoD, MW, Valorant, "Spray and pray". I value accuracy and precision over "Shoot as many bullets and hope to hit them". I also value it over "Haha, Barrel Stuff and camp a corner cause fuck learning how to aim."
One of my favorite classes is crown and king with slug and a sparks pistol. Get long and close distance with both guns. You should do a video on that class!
The sparks is my fav and most used weapon by far either iron sight or scoped i love it. I would also play the martini henry scoped instead but i feel like martini henry is bugged atm i shot through way too many standing still enemies.
I wasn't aware being a sniper enjoyer who isn't afraid to rush a trio of shotguns with my pistol made me such a unicorn... my advice to people who want to enjoy sniping but still be a good teammate, replace your sparks with a romero for a while and learn to fight at close range, and REALLY get good with your pistol. Then you aren't scared to fight up close, and if you do happen to get into a long range gunfight you can use the full capability of your scoped primary.

Basic Sparks + Dual LeMats = Yes With that set up you have an answer for basically everything that can be thrown at you. Sparks for general purpose and long range, reasonably accurate Dualies for medium/close, and two under barrel shotguns for close range against speedy, dodgy melee attackers. Sure you’ll be outranged by Marksmen and Sniper rifles, but really, at that range I just disengage anyway. Side note: the LeMat under barrel is perfect for popping Stalker Beetles.

Imo, it is the most versatile & all round best weapon in this game.
I'm so glad I don't have to rapid tap-fire to reset cones anymore. Planetside is a wierd boi
Sparks is the lowest cost highest damage gun that’s versatile in all situations
Finally my favorite gun. But yea, u r right, this gun is hard to play team-wise. It requires a strong back up option like fanning pistol or officer/new army/spitfire/lemat(as a shotgun with option to follow up shots at range) or dolch if ur feeling cocky :)
It's like...
Your Gameplay videos are extremely impressive and show off interesting loadouts, which makes me want to give those weapons a shot so it's likely that others will too, diversifying the weapons in matches
Love the content, keep it up you're definitely going far :)
That FMA scene is cruel and unusual punishment, wouldn't even wish it on my enemy.
“Mw2 lobby”😂😂😂 you had me in stitches, the editing for this video was bang on! 👍
3:15 this is exactly why I dodge scopers in lobbys, since I do that my games are less frustrating
Dude that “shoot through that” Segway to FMJ was sick
This really brings out the definition
"Switching to you secondary is faster then reloading"
That bit about snipers is so true. No matter the situation, most sniper players I had the joy of playing with want to sit in their nest. You could be 3v1 and push them for an easy kill but they rather aim at a wall waiting that either the wall magically disappears or that the opponent has a stroke and walks into them.
Most players can't play the most difficult loadout in the game efficiently. Shocker.
@@TheMeowse I dont blame them for missing shots. I blame them for consciously making the decision to not play as a team. If you dont want to play as a trio then go solo so we dont have to 2v3 every encounter.
That FMA reference trying to kill everyone here.
I laughed so hard at that
For the last 2 weeks I’ve been working on a stalker beetle kill and despite my teammates running sparks with poison exclusively for that whole time I have yet to secure a kill.
7:13 w...what is business mode? I'm scared
lol my buddy and I usually talk too much, so when we go business mode, we actually pay attention to the game
@@HomeReel That makes much, much more sense than what my brain went to. For some reason my brain just went to you two having suits on and briefcases next to your PCs x D
As a sniper in hunt you need balance to the camp and push aspect. You gotta be close enough that you can push but not too close you get pushed.
The sparks with an officer and I morphed into a carbine player with a sparks pistol. Match made in heaven those 2 trees.
My new favorite load out is beirthier riposte with dual wielding sparks pistols. Insane ammo pool and the fire/reload rate of the main riffle is so nice I don’t need to ever switch weapons 90% of the tome
Home wanting to PMS? Sounds like a college callback.
Once again, incredible video!
Now that you've pointed it out. I never even noticed the hammer in game, oh my God
"Sorry, I don't make the rules"
The delivery on that was as good as it gets for text chat.
I'm a simple lman, I see a video from HomeReel, I watch and like.
ALSO FMA reference? Keeps getting better.
If you ever do either an officer pistol or New Army pistol review, why not compare their respective upsides and downsides in one video? They both are pretty similar in practice and I think that a guide for them could be combined to better analyze their upsides and downsides.
A bit late but heres an analyzis for you. New army beats the officer at close range hile the officer beats the new army at medium range.
Only recently found this channel and I am enjoying these so much. Funny videos.
@homereel I was the guy you killed with the concertina bomb... if I remember correctly that games was a lot of deaths on both sides lol
i missed the one thing that pains a sporks main the most... deleting wagonloads of medkits without actually killing anyone because often when you hit someone they kind of disappear. its like shotgun terror but reversed from a distance.
not a sniper btw.
Did I enjoy this latest video? Yeppers!
you deserve way more views man, great vids
I love running Sparks Sniper with a Caldwell Chain as secondary, with Fanning
Your one of 2 of my all time favourite Hunt Showdown TH-camrs. I've watched every hunt related video! Your humour is very fresh, funny and punfully creative!
The other video which is my favourite is
@Qbert His channel is Amazing and is a joy like yours to watch!
The way to use the sniper is the be medium distance behind your team and supporting them with cover fire and keeping an eye on the periphery of either side of your teammates - using your scope to see people from distance and taking shots forcing them to heal or reposition and flush the into your teammates- or they flush them out to your sightlines.
Otherwise you can kill someone before they realize your team is there and both cover and support your teammates as they approach. losing a teammate to a well placed shot literally drops your success rate by 33 percent and they will now either back off and abandon their dead friend or try and recover them or readjust - anyway they have reorganize and replan and you have an advantage - they should NOT be just “kill farming “ outside the compound - that’s who you seem to meet up with in random lobbies
It CAN be used to great effect with teams that have medium and long distance weapons if you actually participate- the problem is that randoms don’t- they don’t know how to use the snipers at close range- by placing yourself inside compounds at angles to support your teammates or using explosives and secondaries with your teammates to backup
Please don’t lump all of us sniper users in the category with those cowards
I view the sparks sniper as a useful bonus for irons but hip-fire still works like a charm.
I really didn't expect to see FMA here...That hit harder than Sparks, man
Your goal of 100k subscribers is coming along well
If you pause just at 4:36 the shard of barrel is so similar to the upper half of a face I rewound 3 times thinking I missed a meme
Its really weird but hip firing sparks in close range is really effective. Then follow up with a revolver
The shoot through that pun, I commend you
I don’t comment often but every time I see one of these videos in my feed I get so excited especially when it’s one of my favorite guns. Thanks so much for these videos home.
Vid came out as I just missed the most embarrassing shots I ever had with the sparks. Im gonna need to study this vid. GG homie
Did you killed a man with a flashbomb? I'd say, he was gone with a flash.
Another great video, love your content
That scene from full metal alchemist got me😢❤😂 that hurt too much ...that deserves the like for sure
Thing with snipers like this guy running happens quite often on playstation from my experience and I was playing since 2020
It has the fibs factor . “Fudge iv been shot”
Sparks + Coldwell chain converstion with fanning trait. Accounts for all ranges
This has been my go to for most of my hunt playtime,it hits hard,is really consistant, has good iron sights and is insanely bang for your buck
Another fire video from home father
Can't wait for the next video man!😁
Best gun to pair with imo is the officer, I started carrying it every round, it is the gun that gives firerate without a massive price jump. It has a 120rpm meaning 2 bullets a second and has 7 loaded letting you get several attempts at the guy you tag with a long gun or spam the trigger into somebody up close.
You chose violence with that FMA clip.
and the inverse happens with some shotguns guys that just sprint in front of everyone without stopping.
The most frustating about the bad sniper is that when you die you spectade him leaving.
The fact that the best MW2 montage song was the most softcore DnB that wasn't even dubstep disappointed me, -1.
To be fair, there's nothing like hitting a 300 meter headshot with a sparks sniper.
I really like the Sparks (especially the pistol with poison and shotgun combo) because I often one shot people randomly, or I throw a flash or hive bomb and end the job with a simple shot.
Ooohh the hive bomb is just evil lol
I started playing Hunt back in Beta, and to this day still favor the sparks over any gun. The whole allure of Hunt to me was "slow firing guns." None of this CoD, MW, Valorant, "Spray and pray". I value accuracy and precision over "Shoot as many bullets and hope to hit them". I also value it over "Haha, Barrel Stuff and camp a corner cause fuck learning how to aim."
As a sniper in training, I am learning to master my sidearm so I can help my random buddies out.
One of my favorite classes is crown and king with slug and a sparks pistol. Get long and close distance with both guns. You should do a video on that class!
sparks is such a good gun! also you hit them and it takes only the most experienced players to remain after being hit as most try run and heal.
Damn, well I guess I'm one of the few remaining Sparks sniper players who don't mind letting RNG decide close encounters while rushing.
I dont even play Hunt, but these videos are interesting, almost watch all of them.
Love the sparks pistol with a shotgun like the Caldwell rival as a cheap alternative to an uppercut+shotgun build.
Ive been running Sparks w/Qtrmaster and Rival handcannon fletchett, it's a lot of fun
We need a Sparks Riposte for when you miss in close range and need to go all stabby stabby.
Long enough to stab someone within a 10 ft radius.
The FMA clip WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY 😭😭😭
hey Reel love the vids if you dont mind me asking what is your FOV in game?,or if you can direct me to a settings vid you may have made that i cant seem to find myself lol
The sparks and nitro are the hardest skill based weapons to balance right for me.
good to be back missed your content
And here i am using sparks like a shotgun in close range.
oh my god thank you for that bit about a mr. friendly sniper runnig away... happens every time I give them a chance :(
I mean, this scene from FMA does 100 damage at least
Just subscribed. Would love to see some content on how to improve my gameplay and meta loadouts. I've been playing hunt a lot more, but no expert and would love to get some tips or tricks that advanced players use
Basic Sparks + Dual LeMats = Yes
With that set up you have an answer for basically everything that can be thrown at you.
