Honestly I love this shotgun, but only with levering. The base gun is too slow and inaccurate for its speed, which is slower than a specter which has roughly the same spread of the Romero. But with levering I have leveled trios with it without needing to pause for a reload.
Ah I’ve been waiting for this review for a while. You make very fair points about it’s inconvenient nature, getting traits, dealing with the expensive cost of the gun and ammo. Shotguns imo are the most controversial guns within the community (other than the Dolches) because they are all about personal preference. Many people always ADS with shottys because it feels natural to them and in fairness can help with aiming. But at the same time, many people I know, and other content creators like Rachatz, Hornet, Fronkie, Vombuz etc, never ads with shotguns because at the end of the day, if your aim is good enough, you really don’t need to ads because the spread pattern doesn’t change. Basically what I’m saying is a lot of people (who I know) don’t like using the terminus because of not being used to hipfiring with shottys. But for people like me who am used to it because I’ve used it for so long, it becomes the best shotgun in the game (for me to get wins with personally). On a side note, Penny shot is just a straight upgrade for the Terminus. I've found that if you have quartermaster, and levering a Terminus handcannon with Flechette is a really nasty secondary for a Winnie. It lets you put ungodly amounts of pressure on a team that you can then follow up on really easily with your Winnie. And the Winnie can easily hold its own in close range with or without levering, so you're not even sacrificing much with the flechette. They just synergize with each other really, really well. Depends if it's your main damage dealer or backup. Slugs for main, buckshot for backup play. Fletchet is designed mainly as a team assist/2 tap not a kill shot on all shotguns that have it. Its not a Terminus issue, be objective. Specter gets worse stats with Penny as opposed to the Terminus. Specter Compact does better with Flechette than with Buckshot because of the tight spread and bleed (same damage cap) Slugs is generally best but at close quarters you want spread not precision on a shotgun, in my opinion. With Levering full Terminus stomps full Specters and Crowns. Only dies to a full size Romero due to range.
I think I only like the Terminus because I hate the Spectre so much. It needs its traits, but then it's usable. Even with traits I can never like the Spectre and wish I had a Romero or Caldwell Rival every time.

The terminus is the gun equivalent of a mediocre sandwich. But sometimes, even that mediocre sandwich is enough of a pick-me-up on a bad day given the right circumstance.
> if no sparks/martini: ammo pool secondary > if sparks/martini, no quartermaster: uppercut > if sparks/martini, quartermaster, no levering: rival handcannon + flechette > if sparks/martini, quartermaster, levering: terminus hancannon + flechette
I like Terminus with how Unique it feel for Shotgun (BOMBLANCE IS STILL THE BEST) Also Terminus is good for Hunter with Levering that you used normal Windfield before and want some additional Shotgun in life, then switch it into Terminus!
Every time the Terminus comes up in my hunt groups, the conversation goes loosely like this: "Why would you take that thing?" "Because it's fun, or because you'd rather pay trait points than dollars for a Crown and King." "So it's not good?" "If you think the crown is good, the terminus is good too." Exception being, if you play it with slugs or flechette, the answer is more like "I just don't like how the Specter looks."
The spread is tighter than the Crown & King with a negligible difference in fire rate(w/ levering). When levering you should always use buckshot, as the one shot range is nearly as far as the specter and the two shot range is very competitive. The reason people complain about the hitmarkers with this gun is because it’s difficult to shoot center of mass while levering. However, if you learn the recoil this thing becomes a monster and the best spam shotgun in the game.
I actually really enjoy bringing in a lebel marksman with a terminus hand cannon levering included. A lot of people will get aggressive when they see an opportunity to close the gap on someone with a rifle. Especially a scoped rifle. (Assuming they’ve figured that out). The amount of times I’ve surprised someone shotgun or melee charging me thinking I’ll panic and rush my shots with the rifle is to many to count now. I can only imagine the surprise when I whip out a shorty and dump 3 or 4 shells into their chest
Maybe mention the disadvantage of Levering, as you cannot move as freely, which is a big downside for a shotgun. Except for slugs, jumpshots are the way to go with shotguns, as your spray is not effected, but it´s much harder to headshot you. I personally like flechette with long ammo, which can be very powerful with the Terminus.
I'm convinced this gun was balanced around having Levering. Bad news: It's kind of useless without it. Good news: Just like the Winfield, it was balanced with it being the only gun in a loadout capable of using said trait. If you break this proposition, you end up with an overpowered loadout for mere 4 upgrade points (lever-action weapons are all relatively cheap in Hunt as well). So consider that: Even without Quartermaster, you can have two lever-action weapons in the form of this shotgun's Handcannon version and any of the many short versions of the Winfield 1873C. The Vandal Deadeye is probably the best pick, considering how it can cover both medium and relatively long ranges while still acting as a decent backup to the Terminus thanks to having a 8 round magazine and Levering providing it with amazing RoF. If you do have Quartermaster, you can use a large variant of either the Shotgun or the Winfield rifle (both 1873C and the original 1873); If you do chose to "upsize" your Winnie Rifle, the variants I think are the best suited are 1873C Marksman (direct upgrade to the Deadeye, though you may not like being forced to use a medium scope), the 1873 Swift for quick reloads or the 1873 Talon for having the most stylish axe gun of the entire game (extremely deadly too).
The terminus with slugs can make you feel like you can fight God some games and then others you end up feeling like you bought a gold plated confetti cannon
Home Address: What do you think of the idea of boss variants? Butcher who has less melee presence but controls flaming leeches similar to a meat head, assassin who is permanently split and you have to contend with multiple of them able to do full attacks at once, spider that leaves webs that can slow, and maybe blind or poison you instead of spit venom, maybe scrapbeak who has a gun instead of melee weapons? Okay, probably not that last one... But I still think the idea has some merit to expanding the types of encounters you can face. I think the best way to implement that would be weekly rotations that are shown on the home screen in-game, so you don't pack stuff that is completely useless against a boss variant you didn't know about. Anyway, hope I can see your thoughts on this idea.
I'd like to think certain guns like the Dolch, Officer, throwing knives or Mosin's are more PC oriented weapons. Where as on consoles, its Explosive Crossbows, Terminus Flechette, Dum Dum Chain Pistols with fanning, and throwing axes that are more heavily favored (perhaps) because of the clunky feeling of aiming with a controller.
Totally depends on levering for me. If I'm doing a shotgun night, first round is a double barrel, and if the survive for points they get promoted to terminus. That thing without levering is just...hot garbage, because having a shotgun that doesn't reliably one-tap with a very slow fire rate is pain. But with levering it turns into having a C&K with even more bullets and way bigger "cool factor": that is a good time. The sawnoff for this is just...no, however. The most painful moment of my life was bodying someone with a sparks, and then switching to the cutdown terminus (with pennies) to get that extra 1 hit from about ten feet. I had to stab them to death. It was like shooting at neo. The pennies curved around him.
You don’t use flachet to one shot. It’s for pressure. You shoot them so that you know they will need to heal. Add some pressure and often they will be forced to over extend or die to bleed. That being said you’d probably get more flachet value/$ from a Caldwell. Or even a handcannon
I would disagree about terminus. The terminus is always consistent with me but I would argue that the spencer would take the place for this video. The spencer always lets me down. I feel like I'm cursed with it every time I use it something goes wrong and I have a horrible experience but when I use the terminus I clean house and its a great time. Glad there making a new pump action maybe that one will serve me well. Anyway great video keep it up!
As someone who is a shotgun main, I'd say its alright. Yeah you got to get used to the spread, but once you do. You know what's a 3 shot distance, a two shot distance, and a one shot distance subconsciously.
I will just say, I 100% swear by pennyshot in the Terminus. I have no idea why but it works amazingly for me, it's also worth mentioning you get more ammo then normal with pennyshot. And if I had a dollar for every time I've had 3 shots 3 kills with the pennies, but that can entirely be confirmation bias.
Whenever I run shotguns, I run the spectre or the rival, as they rarely let me down. However, if my hunter survives, then they graduate to the terminus chad, as they get the perks to let it shine.
I've been thinking of running a Springfield with dumdum bullets and a suppressed nagant with poison ammo and fanning. If those 2 stack the way I think they will in the middle of a firefight it might work out just fine.
Shit I don't even play this game just because the FOV makes it feel like playing the game through full-colour NVG binoculars but I still watch your videos. Great work :)
Off topic, but I would like to request a video on the Springfield 1866. I just got my Old Tusk today, and although I rarely use it, I'd still like a video on the gun.
Terminus is good but only with levering. It offers a fast fire rate with decent ammo count, which makes it a great option for trios. And dragons breath isn’t too bad either, being much more accurate than anyone probably realizes.
At least the Bornheim is semi auto so it has a reason to be so fucking awful and even then the only buff it needs is that it has less dmg fall off at mid ish range.
terminus is really good in some areas compared to other shotguns. half the clips had flechette ammo which of cours eis going to give you tons of hitmarkers
I think since it's more then a Spector it should have more range and a tight spread like that of the Romero as a sorta higher tier Romero since it's slower give it consistent good spread and range. Levering doesn't make the gun better it's makes it barely more viable like it's marginally better then the Cent with levering your better off using the Winnie Swift and mag dumpin.
I've been playing hunt since the testing days before full release, oof it's been a minute. I've never claimed to be good at the game or even terribly knowledgeable but considering the fact I am terrible at video games; I generally prefer weapons that didn't really require traits to be good or useful. It's amazing when you have a character fully decked out and ready to dominate with great gear and traits especially when it pays off. But if it doesn't then defeat is all the worse feeling. I'm never going to be a great hunt player, and I think I set myself back for a long time trying to go for the meta and the cool stuff and the high tier loadouts. Sometimes simple is better.
Lol hunt is one of those games that I really never keep downloaded for long. I have both pc and console versions but never play it for very long before deleting it. It's fun, but everything I get lured back in, I just feel like it's such a grind that I inevitably stop playing. I love the concept and I love how it works and feels in game, but you kinda get your fill after a few good games. Bad luck and sloppy playing make it fun again when I pick it back up, but I eventually just find myself trying a few guns and putting it down.
Another great video HomeReel. I don't really do shotguns, but after watching this video I will give this weapon a try. Keep these videos coming dude, I love your channel.
It's called the Terminus because any time you pick up that gun, you'll die and have to say goodbye to your character because it's the Terminus for them
Yep. As an average shotgun enjoyer, this pretty much sums up my terminus experience. Not really worth investing money and trait points into a gun that will probably more often let you down in fights than actually be useful.
I've had some very succesfull boss lair pushes and team wipes with Terminus levering, but way too often it leaves me with multiple hits but no kills. :D I feel like the Winfield Slate makes both Spectre and Terminus almost obsolete.
Idk why people struggle so much with this thing. It's easily my favorite shotgun. Slap levering and dragonsbreath on it, and you have one hell of a troublemaker
when it works, it works. when it doesnt... FUCK... thought i remember going 3 games back to back to back with a terminus wiping the whole server with the single instrument of death.
The Handcannon with Slugs is pretty damn good. Run that as your secondary and you're in good shape. Running the full size Terminus as your primary, even with slugs, I don't know. Better off with the Rival, which is, IMO, the best shotgun, when used with slugs, in the game.
@@mitchelrowe6915 I love the C&K with slugs. I still prefer the Rival. Less recoil, you can get off the first two shots as quickly but with greater accuracy. Can't go wrong with either, though, really.
I enjoy the terminus, not because it is good, but because the specter feels *extremely* clunky and unrewarding, the romero feels like too much of a gimmick (even if it is genuinely a very good weapon), and the rival is just down right bad. The crown king is in a category of it's own like the nitro, dolch, and avtomat for other categories of guns, so I hardly count it as a viable consistent shotgun pick. Also you can carry a winfield and a terminus together and have lever action gun traits benefit both without sacrificing range or loadout balance. (I like to run loadouts where I don't have a primary and secondary, but a close range and long range weapon, usually one or the other bleeding into medium range mixed with gear to make the loadout good all around.)
I doubt it, but I think that gator boy in the water with bounty towards the end was my buddy and I, we were in an almost identical situation and area. If it was GG lolol
is it worth the hassle? not if you don't have levering. this is the only trait that is really needed. the others are good but are not important. i take the terminus because of the ROF for price vs the crown, not for the special rounds, which i can get with other shotguns.
The Terminus is in a weird spot. If they made it have better range, it would be broken. If they sped up the non-levering fire rate, it would be broken. They pretty much did the only thing they could without reworking the entire gun's spot in the lineup when they increased its levering fire rate. Its just kind of cursed to always be in between a specter and crown and king. The small version fairs somewhat better when compared to the other small shotguns. You get 6 shots (instead of 3 for the specter compact) and the levering speed makes up for the reduced 1 hit range that all of the small shotguns have.

"If you think the crown is good, the terminus is good too."
Exception being, if you play it with slugs or flechette, the answer is more like "I just don't like how the Specter looks."
This review is BRUTAL! I've been using the Terminus, but maybe that was a mistake...
Gonna try your advice next time I'm in the bayou.
I commented too early. Switching guns now.
lol yeah some people swear by this gun so it could just be me being bad
It only took me watching through 18 of your videos until you asking me to subscribe actually worked. Keep it up.
Killed it... couldn't agree more..
I love the idea of the hand canon with levering but I just feel like there cheaper and more reliable picks ..
1:14 "Probably" got me there hahaha
Levering, iron eye, and babby length are definitely essential. And of course f l e c h e t t e murder with levering is a nightmare to face
Accidentally shot a guy in the head with that from like 20m thinking it was a rifle did no damage and died to that man almost instantly
It's a hard life to try and stand toe to toe with the pure quality that is the Romero shotgun
The delivery of these lines makes the vid. Subbed. Keep sending me illegal memes.
As a masochist can confirm, happy you took my comment to heart!
That opening joke is gold
Whenever I run shotguns, I run the spectre or the rival, as they rarely let me down. However, if my hunter survives, then they graduate to the terminus chad, as they get the perks to let it shine.
Honestly man these are so good, such a good cross between solid info and comedy. Cant wait for the next!
Terminus is tied for my favorite gun with the Specter. I don’t even run it with levering all the time. Yes I’m weird.
Off topic, but I would like to request a video on the Springfield 1866. I just got my Old Tusk today, and although I rarely use it, I'd still like a video on the gun.
Hey, the new update helped this gun a lot surprisingly.
It's been great for long team fights in compounds for me
Terminus is good but only with levering. It offers a fast fire rate with decent ammo count, which makes it a great option for trios. And dragons breath isn’t too bad either, being much more accurate than anyone probably realizes.
The Terminus gives you so many hit markers, and so few kills, much like the Bornheim. Hey, now there's a masochistic loadout...
They recently changed the firerate of the weapon, both normally and with levering.
come back to the channel tomorrow (:
Your jokes are actually getting really good dude. Keep it up and keep making these kinds of videos and you'll get big pretty soon I feel 👍
One of the hardest guns to complete the mastery for in the armory book
Lol hunt is one of those games that I really never keep downloaded for long. I have both pc and console versions but never play it for very long before deleting it. It's fun, but everything I get lured back in, I just feel like it's such a grind that I inevitably stop playing. I love the concept and I love how it works and feels in game, but you kinda get your fill after a few good games. Bad luck and sloppy playing make it fun again when I pick it back up, but I eventually just find myself trying a few guns and putting it down.
The carpet bagger joke was 10/10
Another great video HomeReel. I don't really do shotguns, but after watching this video I will give this weapon a try. Keep these videos coming dude, I love your channel.
I enjoy levering flechett rounds. Tight spread, and I reliably get about 4 kills a game with that loudout.
My mans made a video about shotguns when I am in progress of trying to steer away from shotguns because I was way to dependant on it.
It‘s funny because I mostly use the Terminus + Penny shots when I use shotguns
okay that subscriber joke made me sad plus this is super helpful so fine.
It's called the Terminus because any time you pick up that gun, you'll die and have to say goodbye to your character because it's the Terminus for them
I love the Terminus. It's also the weapon that has let me down the most :(
Trios and fire ammo or solo and fleschette! Secondary is bow with poison and concertina!
Man please keep doing hunt content, I’m loving it and your videos and so clean and great to watch. Keep it seminal 💕
Bro that carpetbagger line was 🔥🤌
these are great videos! i wonder what your take on the vetterli is (personal favourite)
I always love penny shot, you just need to know that range and you will always one/two shot hunter
I feel like the Winfield Slate makes both Spectre and Terminus almost obsolete.
This guy is like SickSnipes, but for a game that's actually cool. :D
▪︎Gun Guide▪︎
Idk why people struggle so much with this thing. It's easily my favorite shotgun. Slap levering and dragonsbreath on it, and you have one hell of a troublemaker
with the most recent dragons breath buff, the terminus DB with levering is what I have the most fun with.
I fell like that the spectre outperforms the windfield in every way. And it's even cheaper!
You earned another sub dude! I love watching ur videos and find them pretty funny as well as informative.
when it works, it works. when it doesnt... FUCK... thought i remember going 3 games back to back to back with a terminus wiping the whole server with the single instrument of death.
This is why I just stick to the rival, no traits needed and I'm not left to die if I miss my first shot like with the Romero.
The Handcannon with Slugs is pretty damn good. Run that as your secondary and you're in good shape. Running the full size Terminus as your primary, even with slugs, I don't know. Better off with the Rival, which is, IMO, the best shotgun, when used with slugs, in the game.
If you're not willing to sink the price in for the crown and king slugs that is, more shots and faster fire rate
Slate is so good
Used to love this shotgun. Now I resent it. Great video as always brotha
is it worth the hassle? not if you don't have levering. this is the only trait that is really needed. the others are good but are not important. i take the terminus because of the ROF for price vs the crown, not for the special rounds, which i can get with other shotguns.
The 1887 is one of my favorite guns, but whenever I use it in-game I keep asking myself "why not just use the much cheaper the Specter?"
