I love Deeper Than Hair, but I was still too nervous to try after watching her do it. However, seeing you (a non-stylist) do it has given me confidence to try. Now, off to get my scissors
I’ve been taking care of my hair for like 4 years and I finally grew it to the bottom of my boob and then I went to the salon and had it “trimmed” but the lady ended up cutting more than she was supposed to. Salons are always doing me wrong so from now on I’m gonna trim my own ends!
I just watched the DTH vid too and saved it to my library, I wanna cut my hair today. I had no idea how to do that and now I feel ready to give it a try ❤️ I do need new scissors though 😬
I’ve had way too many screw ups from the salon. I’ve been cutting my own hair since forever now. It’s not that bad & if you do screw up it’ll always grow back. I recommend doing it. My faith in stylist have been long over.
Oh my goodness, i just watched “Deeper Than Hair” two days ago, and cut my hair. Now I’m watching yours today. I must agree this is the easiest way to cut your own hair, so simple
Regular trims are a must! My hair reaches past my elbows, and every couple months I take a seat on the stool, get caped and my husband trims my hair. He does it dry so he can see the splits/damage and trim it off. He does the full sectioning, pinning it up and letting my hair down in increments so the layers underneath get trimmed to remove damage, rather than just the top layer. By doing this method, I don’t have the breakage moving up the hair shaft, resulting in thinning. My best friend watched him do my hair, liked the way he was doing it and asked him to give her a trim as she wanted to grow her hair longer. She asked if he could continue to trim her hair as she does not trust the salons that always screwed up her hair.
@@naulajosephine6810 not everyone is trying to bang everyone. I wash and take care of my sister family hair, including her husband's. My sister trust me because she knows I have no interest in anything else, I just have an interest in hair. Now we do have a half sister who she doesn't trust like that, because she be on the grimy stuff 😅.
Girl you did an amazing job, for this being your first time cutting your own hair. I have been cutting my own hair for a while, but I have lost my confidence in cutting. Only because I haven't done it in like forever. Watching you has given me my confidence back and I am going to do exactly what you did. I have watched other tutorials and your's is the one and only for me!!! Thank you darling, and God bless you, you beautiful goddess!!!
I watched the same tutorial literally two days ago and followed her pattern!!!. I was so proud of myself! And my hair looks so much more full. This is perfect to hold me off until I can get it professionally trimmed. I think it came out great! Love how yours came out! ❤
I only straighten my hair once a year, so have been sitting on her video for a few months. Finally did the trim last week and so accomplished and impressed with myself 😂 . My hair feels so much healthier and thicker now. Hope she never takes it down. It really was super helpful. You did a great job by the way. Was curious to see someone else’s results from following her video. Did not disappoint 😊 👍🏽
I think you did great! I trim mine all the time. But I start from the bottom parting the hair across and clip the bottom and move on to the next row above it. My sides front piece I cut slanting the hair towards my face. I've been trimming my hair for years and she lives her trims. Great job girl! Stay safe. Blessings~
I literally followed her same tutorial and wouldn’t stop cutting… I may have over cut slightly but I love starting the year with cut ends.. you did a great job 👍🏾💜
Thank you so much for this video! I just properly trimmed my hair for the first time in years as I have never found a stylist who wasn’t cut happy and just stopped going. I just cut my hair using your video and my hair looks amazing! And I for sure did not chop my hair off like a pro stylist definitely would. I know your video was inspired by another and I thank them as well. It was just nice seeing a regular person like me succeed and gave me confidence to try as well!
I just finished watching Deeper than hair, and I also was not sure about the comb down on one side and then the twist and cut, but you made me understand. Thank you.
Thank you so much. I don’t need a stylist. I make my own natural shampoos & conditioners . I only needed to re-learn to trim my hair. My mother taught me years ago. Thank you so much. I am free to travel and live anywhere 🎉. FREEDOM‼️
Thank you so much for this. Just trimmed my hair following yours and Deeper than hair’s method and you can’t go wrong. I have tried all sorts of trimming methods, but this has been the best one! My staple was the ponytail method, but the huge flaw with that is you can’t get to the middle and front of your hair. Relaxed or natural, this is the best method ever 👏🏾
I watched this video the first time I ever cut my hair and I still do, 3rd time now. It’s something about walking through the anxiety each time with a friend that has me coming back every time
Yesterday, my beautician wasn’t available. I was so desperate to cut my split ends. When I assessed my strands of hair I didn’t realize I had 6 to 7 pieces of split hair coming off of one strand of hair, it was bad. Your video was the first one I came across and was terrific. I was able to cut my own hair get a fine tooth comb through my hair without snagging. I appreciate you so much I enjoyed your video.
Thank you for creating this video, I also love 'Deeper Than Hair Video. I trimmed my hair by her video as well. I also love that you pointed out a little more detail on how she cut the back and by twisting. Thank you also for your courage! Your hair is gorgeous!
you literally helped me sm . watching deeper than hair kinda gave me anxiety with how slowly she was cutting , almost like she was unsure. but you’re much more comfortable with it and made me more comfortable
She was doing that because she was using the Camara to see herself. So that's like trying to cut your hair using a compact mirror, it's much harder to see!
I love deeper than she definitely knows what she’s doing both of my sister hair was badly damage it looked like a wood pecker been eating at they hair we lol after I showed them deeper than hair video they immediately got it cut it thanks to deeper than hair explaining about damage hair so far she’s the only one I know that explains to where anybody could easily understand I truly approve her videos glad I found her, thank you Jesus you always put the right people in place to share knowledge and wisdom Bless deeper than hair and keep her always!
Perfect! Thanks so much for sharing this!!! Just straightened my hair for the first time since going natural many years ago and wanted to do a really serious trim instead of my usual dusting on curly hair. This method worked perfectly for me. Thanks so much :)
You did a great job girl! Now I finally feel confident enough to cut my own hair. Update : I just cut my own hair for the first time following this video! so excited, I did pretty good too! GO ME
Yes, deeper than hair helped me trim my own hair. She is awesome! Without that video my hair would have stayed unhealthy. Thank you deeper than hair & you as well for sharing.
Good job following her instruction. Your hair cut came out nice. I watched her video before yours. As I watched yours, it gave me the confidence I can cut my own. She is a professional at cutting hair, I am not. She explained cutting hair very well. I plan to clip on my next wash day. I pray I am able to get her results as well as yours. Thanks

You did an amazing job. I saw Deeper Than Hair and thanks to her I am going to try and trim my hair professionally. I do my own hair and it is long. I haven’t used any heat in my hair for four years now.
I followed her video as well about a month ago. It was very helpful. You did a great job and helped me even further as the way you broke down the steps was even more helpful. Next time I have to trim, I'm watching your video first. Thanks!!!
I haven't been to the salon since 2015. I believe I've done a great job with my hair. However, I haven't trimmed my hair since 2017. I've watched deeper than hair's video and will be trying her technique too. Depending on how bad my split ends are determines if I will trim it myself. Thank you for your honest post...I'd probably be the same way trying to determine the lines...to cut...
@dope ethopian Thank you this helped me so much. My hair is past my bra and I hate going to a salon to get it cut. They cut too much for my liking. My trim turned out so dope. I cut my hair only a couple times a year on a full moon and save all the hair to put in my Altar to honor my ancestors.
Yup, that’s what I do! Keep it healthy and growing long! Yup! Every month I trim with my shears! I do not go to salons anymore for nothing, especially because I’m natural.
