  • Go easy on me guys, it's my first time editing a video for TH-cam.
    I just thought since there's basically no information for turbo k20a3's that I would throw a video up.
    Let me know if y'all have any questions or want to see more videos... thanks!

      If you turbo your auto, you will need another ecu for a manual. Hondata does not support the auto ecu's. It is possible to boost the auto, I've seen it done, I just don't know exactly what it takes to do so.

    How has the stage 1 clutch held up? How has the reliability been on the k20a3 motor? And were you unable to have the front bumper back on after the turbo install?

    • @rsxfever3230
      @rsxfever3230  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Front bumper was my own thing. Not related to the turbo setup. The a3 engine was pulled after about 2 years on the ebay setup. Reliability was excellent, never skipped a beat. The clutch held perfectly for those 2 years as well. This year, a K20A was dropped into it, and a Precision 62/60 turbo with supporting fuel mods was installed to hit a 500-600hp goal. (A3's will only hold boost up to 350whp, then they become unreliable.)

      @@AdamB12 the biggest setbacks of the a3 aren't the internals as much as the limit on revving as they can only handle 7,300rpms and have just 25 degrees of timing and the a2 and z3 can handle 8,600rpms and have 50 degrees of timing to play with. Which means you can run larger turbos and more boost. I've seen a3's make 400hp but thats with a perfect setup and a really good tune 👍🏻

    • @rsxfever3230
      @rsxfever3230  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@AdamB12 so, you could do that, but then you would be at the breaking point of the internals... we don't have the same crank or connecting rods. Also, the compression ratio is different on the a2/z3 heads I belive its around 10.5:1 vs the a3 with 9.5:1 which would most likely lead to piston ring failure. As far as putting those heads on the a3 block, you may gain a little hp do to more airflow, but it won't be much because you are still limited on your rpms. That is where the crank plays its part in all this, as it is not engineered for that high of rpms. It does not have the extra balancing counter weights and would likely cause vibrations leading to rod bearing failure. It also gets hotter with higher rpms and the a2 has extra oil squirters to help lubricate and disperse the heat. All of that is not worth it when you can just pick up a k24a2 or a k20a2 for $700-$1200. Just boost the a3 that you have and enjoy it. If you want more power, turn the boost up until it blows, and then go get you an a2. I did forget to mention earlier that if you are planning to run more than 350hp then you Have to have head studs or your blow your head gasket.

      So the rsx and the type s have identical oil pumps. It's only the ep3 si that got a different oil pump in the early k motors. My guess is for manufacturing purposes... regardless your oil pump will work just fine as long as it's healthy. Also a small tip, if your a3 isnt built, don't go past 7,300rpms. Theres a lot of research to back that claim. Your boost setup will make plenty of power in lower rpms as is.
