Today’s video is all about opioid analgesics for Nursing Students and NCLEX Review.
Analgesics are a drug class that reduce pain or fever. Opioids are a type of analgesic that binds to receptors in the brain and spinal cord, changing a patient’s perception of pain.
As a nurse, you should know how opioids (like fentanyl) can cause addiction, respiratory depression, and apnea.

soooo if rr is lower than 12, naloxone or call RR? or is it naloxone and if treatment isn't working then call RR? That was explained two different ways.
I recommend re-recording the section on oxycodone, as it seems to confuse the generic oxycodone with the longer-acting OxyContin.
Thaaaaaank you !
thanks soo much :) Dont forget to take the free quiz at Simplenursing.com/nursing-school

What are the best responses to patients who consitently want their prn opioids but are upset because you deny to give them, their VS are low, they're more than drowsy, etc. I'm a new LPN and I feel in my gut it's not right to give more when they can barely stay awake for a minute when asking questions, BP low.
just tell them the dose isnt ready yet
its not time for your meds yet"
@@dfweurocars you can’t fucking LIE and just say “it’s not time yet” that’s up to the dr not you guys
In thumbnail 5 min pharmacology,,video 11 min 29 sec,,,good 👍
Why gastric lavage was performed even though this poisoning was due to over consumption of intravenous opioid?

Tylenol is a strange medicine the worse the pain is the better it works. For minor pain it does nothing. For a minor surgery it is really good. It might make a difference if someone is looking forward to a surgery. My manager had a surgery on a disk in his back and didn't take anything it was instant relief for him.
That wouldn’t be the case for everyone.
tylenol is a joke i wouldn’t ever take it for severe pain because it is a useless drug
Amazing 😭😭😭😭😭😭

Fentanyl; One of the most potent narcotics "KNOWN TO MANKIND" lmao made me chuckle lol Great video!!
Patient with advanced gastric cancer experienced increased heart rate, rapid atrial fibrillation, and difficulty breathing, a doctor from a certain hospital provides morphine treatment to alleviate the patient's pain and breathing. But the patient eventually died due to severe illness and ineffective treatment.
Can the patient use morphine?
I’ve started dating and here in Hawaii a large portion of the singles are traveling nurses and most of them use Vicodin! That’s an epidemic not being addressed!
Hey can i get free access cause I can't afford it
What’s the name to the app?
Simple Nursing :)
Hi
What a out TramadOl...?
it helps with my pain at legs and shoulders
These narcotics do not work in some people. For me aspirin works better than codeine. Celebrex or Voltaren work at least as well as morphine. I had a minor surgery on my foot where they had to take a burr off a bone. The narcotic didn't do anything. I went against the surgeon and called my GP demanding Celebrex. The Celebrex stopped all the pain. There might be a placebo effect going on. For some reason I see prescription NSAIDs as extremely powerful pain killers and narcotics as mere flower juice.
Love ua vedios, u are a great teacher. Doing nclex exam this week, feel confident after watching most of your vedios. Thanks and blessing s
Method of delivery can make a big difference, sometimes. Morphine sulfate, taken orally, isn’t much more effective than otc Tylenol,in my opinion. But,deliver that dose INTRAVENOUSLY and you get rapid acting, noticeable relief. However,I do realize that,as individuals, reactions to medications can vary.
Make videos in spanish!!!
know to man kind......loooool i laughed

Keyword: killed Michael Jackson
Propofol and benzodiazepines killed Michael Jackson, not opioids.
wow less than 30 seconds in and the lies and propaganda are astounding
