I hear that Ford design sucks. Me and my neighbor just changed all the headlights on the 2015 Fusion hybrid with out dropping the bumper, but we removed many bolts, clips wire harnesses. Those engineers should be slapped upside their heads!
I own the 2016 version of this car- Ford did a ridiculously poor job engineering the serviceability of the front lights. Thanks for this time saving vid! Much appreciated!
Glad that you found a shortcut, but this video does not really provide an easy way to see and follow exactly what fasteners were removed/loosened to allow access to the bulb removal area.
I replaced the low beam without dismantling the car, just take the dirt protector cover off and turn the bulb counter clockwise. I used H11 bulbs. Hope this helps .
I'f u take the dirt cover under the hood off then pull a few more tabs unbolt the headlight u can pull the headlight forward just enough to get your hand back in there but it's kinda tricky I'd just take the bumper off if its your first attempt with the car. Then try next time once you get a better view of that layout
This trick works well, however next time including the bulb number would be helpful, so I will for you. Standard size is a 194, or in led Sylvania it is a 168. Also at part store it is referred to as a running light. Great video though.
I tried the process and was able pull the headlight out. But could not access the bulb. The metal bracket holding the headlamp bulb in is in the way or my hands are too big to get in there. Could not squeeze the bulb housing to pull it out.
I have the same exact car. I'll be attempting to do it this way tomorrow and save atleast $200. Thanks for the video because I wasn't even sure what these dangone lights were even called. 😅
2013 manual states W5W, which is a 5w bulb, the 194 should be 3.8w but works per this video and the comment from the creator... An H11 isn't a DRL but a headlight bulb that is a completely different socket type than what this video is about.
I went thru this hell back in 2019. My low beam lights were not bright at all, so I waited to change them until I had to remove the entire front bumper to fix another problem too. And just this week (Dec 2022), both of the low beam bulbs I replaced 3 years ago burned out within 5 days of each other. You just cannot make this stuff up. To think that you have to do this every 3 years is enough to make me hate domestic automobiles.
@@eddiehill5523 start stall could be fuel issue, the drive through though hmm perhaps you have a fuel pump going out? Should probably have fuel pump amp draw checked on a lab scope to see if the pump is in good shape or not. A good test on a lab scope can tell a lot from worn brushes, bushings, armature, plugged filter to even a bad or plugged sock.
@@eddiehill5523 lol oh my yes that is normal than, I totally forgot about that feature. There should be a button to turn the system off, do that every time you get in the car for a little while. I bet as long as you remember to deactivate it the car will stop doing it.
The music is freaking annoying. People are not here to listen to music. It is dark in the garage. The video could be taped in a closed distance. Overall not too bad.
This is fucking ridiculous, imagine doing all this every year just to replace a god damn bulb. All the screws are hiding all the way inside and only a 3 years old baby can access to them.and all the lights are off center from the cap. A slightly larger Led bulb will never fit in a right angle. Ford wants us to buy a new car after a burnt bulb.
I say no more after 2011 ish any vehicle for me lol. All the brands are trash. I'm going to build a retro rod most likely for my next vehicle. Some 40's-60's chassis with 2004 stroker LS I have.
Well I tried watching this because I really would of liked to know the tip, but I couldn’t make out a dam thing you said with that stupid music playing overtop of your voice. I never understood why people put that music in when they are talking, let alone on top of the fact the voice audio isn’t all that good anyways. Thanks for trying bud, and here’s a comment i guess. Lmao.
Yeah this was a old and messed up video. I even hate it myself 🤣 but somehow a lot of people still watch it and I get payed from it. The heck if I know lol. Perhaps I should make a proper one on this.
@@CrazedPerformanceRepair is there any way you could just strip the music out? I rewatched it to learn the trick. So I’m appreciative that it’s out there.
Trying to change a simple low-beam headlight on our Fusion has turned me into a raging Ford HATER. Glad I found this video.
LMFAO
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Honestly most other common car brands aren't muuuch better.
I dropped the bumper and changed all lights on my 2016. Took a lot of time as it was first time. Bad design at the finest

Yours should be better they put it more on the top
I don't feel bad at all watching their stock tank, complete crap design for headlights. Way to go for sucking more dollars out of your consumers Ford.

In Minnesota too. Dealership wanted to charge me $250!!!!!! Thank you!!!!!
This saved me so much time, thank you!!

egc1972 talking about in the tire well? Or underneath?

He said the number in the first 30 seconds
Thanks you helped me delete the 194 bulbs with little effort
How did you grab that out of there?
All these people complaining about he music should make their own videos! I enjoyed the video, because I have to do the same thing!
Thanks for the simple and clear directions. Which LED bulbs did you use? Can you provide a link?

Well done my friend, you saved me a TON of time!!! Subscribed for sure man!!!!!!!!
Thanks, it's always good to here I saved someone some money.

Thanks pal. Saves me time and money. God bless.
Thank you for your video. I appreciate it.
Thank you thank you thank you so much You are the man
You never mentioned what size bulb that was please
I just used a 194 bulb.
H11

Dude, the MUSIC!
My biggest complaint was the horrible resolution, ugh... Such a old video of mine though. I stopped the music some time ago now.
hey bro, so what was the bulb number because i have the same problem????
I can't recall it was so long ago. Check the description though I may have put it in there.
Nice I thought I had to take the whole front end
What is the part number for the daytime running lights I’ve been looking all over the place plz help.
nathan healy 194
I need to replace that build today.
unclip the wheel well shielding, stick a nerf football in to hold it open, reach up and change the bulb.
Awesome! Thanks for the video!
what size was the bulb ?
Can you replace the headlight bulb using this method?
Nope
Daytime running light
What bulb did you use?
I don't recall it's been so long. Check description I may have put it in there.

What Bulb is that?
Check description I can't remember. I believe it was a 194 but I'm not positive. It's been too long.
My 2014 1.5L fusion stalls any suggestions on what I can do it has 42500 miles on it
Is there any specific time it stalls?
After I drive it for awhile park get out then get back in start up then stalls or if I'm sitting in a drive-through it will stall out

I THOUGHT THERE HAD TO BE AN EASIER WAY, THANKS.
I'm totally lost that is not the headlights you cannot turn your headlights on with your keychain I need help getting to the headlights
You gotta take the whole bumper off
Thanks
Sure wish i could hear a damn thing you said..
Me too!! Video quality was garbage too.
Why the distracting music?
Because I was so clueless at this stage of TH-cam I even had Crappy video settings. Newbe issues...
Background music is louder than ur voice lol
It's a horrible video for sure.

FORDS SMFH
The music playing while you’re speaking is very distracting. It’s hard to hear you.
Yeah also slow down your video man how is one to follow your roll? 😮

you need to stop playing that stupid music in the background so that we can concentrate on what your saying.
Yup I have stopped the music in my more recent videos.
Also, I have no idea what your doing, no mention of tools, no close up view, this is a waste of time.
Do you certainly need to have the music in the background? How stupid is that?
Music while talking is a bit annoying man.
This is why I will never buy Ford. Why make something like changing a headlight bulb such a pain to do? Money. Exactly, piss off.
Too bad it's pretty much all auto makers at this point.
No more Ford 4 me ,f..... Ford

Stop skipping everything

Lol, at this point pretty much all 2012ish and newer suck ars to work on.
