I just thought it was so cool With the Music, the amazing voice acting and the art. But the original video had this super long pauses that I got this idea about Luna trying to stop her sister.
It took me a month to plan, sketch, draw and make the video. So I hope you all like it! :D

Oh Wow! I amazed people still return to watch my old fan video. Thank you all! I may not respond to all of you but I always read all the comments. I am truly grateful. When I made this video I was an art student and made this as one of my assignment. I only had one month to complete it so it is why most of the drawings are so rushed. (at least to my standards)

DUUUDE, THIS MADE ME CRY AS A KID!! I remember when my Father caught me sobbing in the living room because of Celestia's "stoning" or what-not. That was embarrassing lmao. But I never forget how amazing this is! It always has a special place in my heart!
I feel like this is better than the original comic due to Luna actually saw Celestia's sacrifice instead of her just greyed out and drained like that while Celestia did her sacrifice thing.
I love how her hair turn pink as she cast aside her goddess status. I love as you can see Luna calling Celestia but can't hear her. I love that Luna tries to fly, to do magic and in the end it's her earth pony legs that don't fail her. I love how Celestia accepts her end with sorrow then find Luna looking at her in the eye and her expression changes to one of nurturing love.
Now that the wonderful series that was my little pony: friendship is magic, has ended. I have such a deep appreciation for the animatics, spinoffs, youtube content, art, everything, this was amazing and I’m surprised I haven’t seen it before. If this were in the series it would’ve brought me to tears
Fortunately it never does.

Luna has lost her sister, but celestia will never be forgotten. Her story, her sacrifice, will be told, so all of equestria will know what Princess celestia did to save them.
And I like that the ending atmosphere is different to the comic one. Well for me it's different. In the comic one you see the statue of celestia and in the background the ruins of equestria. The equestria she once ruled is now in ruins. And this gives the feeling that a totally new era has started and we just can imagine how it looks. Here, we also see her statue, but also a village and I think a city in the background so you can imagine how the new era is like.

Your actually kind of right. This is like ancient times and Celestia (goddess of the sun) marked a while new era which leads to modern times and she’s known as some sort of myth or legend

A few minutes after I 'recovered' after the crush, which I've felt after rewatching Lullaby for a Princess (I always rewatched it yesterday, I did so today against my better judgement), this was in my suggested. This fandom is so cruel; my eyes are too dry to cry, what more do you want?
I've stopped watching MLP at season 5, I thought, "Since they haven't stopped there, they're going to keep making it for years." Yesterday I learned that they've stopped at season 9 which was finished last year. Feels like the strongest blow I've felt in my life and I wasn't even that deep within the show.

When Discord was turned to stone, it was merely a prison, the punishment given to him for his crimes. But here, Celestia gave everything she had; her life, her memories, everything as her last attempt to save her kingdom. This is why this time, her getting turned to stone is a lot sadder than Discord. Because what's left is just a shell, as she has sacrificed her all for everypony she had the duty to protect, even if the cost was her own life.
Wonderful job on this, can't wait to see more of your work!

I agree this IS amazing! PLEASE make a sequel where the monster is defeated, everyone is completely healed with their memories restored, and Celestia is free of her stone prison!

agreed right there. Celestia give up herself to save everypony, nothing matter to Celestia, what she cared about was that her ponies were safe from all harm. That is what makes a leader a true leader. A leader is a person, or in this a case a brave and noble ailcorn mare, who puts others first before herself. She will do everything in her power to keep the ones that she cares about safe from all that wishes to bring harm to them. That is what Celestia is. Though some see her as a troll, a cake eating mare, and a mare who doesn't do much, I see Celestia as a mare who will stand up for her ponies. She is the pony that most people will see when their path may seem dark, she is the one who gives light, and she is the one who will stop at nothing to protect her ponies.

The artwork is, but the song/concept comes from Doctor Who. The 11th Doctor does a very similar speech at a Parasite God that consumes the good dreams and memories of an entire planet of people. It was kept asleep by a continuously-sung lullaby (the girl you can hear is the most recent singer, taking over from one who sang before her,) but the song is broken and the parasite star wakes up.
