Something that I like about Ymfah that I haven't seen anyone else mention is that he tries to avoid using the same trick in two different videos. For instance, he could have gotten past the Shadows of Yharnam by using a glitch to freeze them, like he did in the pacifist run. Instead, he went on the whole detour to get Shaman Bone Blades. The dedication to avoiding repetition does a lot to keep the videos interesting.
he also could have used poison at the end of phase 1 ludwig to kill him during the cutscene like he did in the pacifist video (correct me if I'm wrong on the video)
I've noticed that too. Almost all of his Skyrim vids could be trivialized with the potion of restoration loop, and I think he does it once, but that's it. The only think he's done multiple times has been the infinite shout glitch, but he always manages to use it in very vivid and unique ways that it doesn't FEEL like he's just repeating the same glitch over and over again.
I love how much hidden and generally useless tech suddenly becomes vital for this challenge. This is one of those where it’s a puzzle along with skill to get through it.
Me, seeing him overcome Maria: "A day may come when Ymfah's will fails, when his perseverance is crushed beneath the challenges he pursues... but today is not that day."
I love it when Ymfah runs into potential run breaking problems, I imagine it like that quote from the Martian "You do the math. You solve one problem and you solve the next one, and then the next, And if you solve enough problems" we get a video.
That quote is literally my mantra, so glad other people realise how great that movie was, but not as good as Ymfah’s patience, problem solving and editing skills.
Honestly might be one of the best endings you've ever done. You've always been a master of dramatic timing, but multiple times in this episode did you have me genuinely convinced that there'd be no way to overcome something, only for you to find a way and present it with the perfect musical cue.
The amount of hours just put into this game to know the bosses attack patterns, then the time spent dying to these bosses to find the optimal way to kill each one. Respect
The fact that aerial counter exist is astonishing. Fromsoft is really intricate with each of the souls series game mechanic. You practically would never see this damage proc in a normal run. So theoretically, this can also be applied to maria, since her 3rd phase window is the jump attack, so if you predict maria jump attack down to pixel perfect, the Molotov detonate when maria pixels above the ground.
I just started playing the game again and just realized that when you swing your weapon its creates a little air current capable of moving things like clothing. Realized because I accidentally slashed near the doll and her dress moved from the air of the swing. The details in the game are indeed insane.
No they really aren’t. Sure ds2 has a lot of interesting unique mechanics and bloodborne has some but that’s about the only exception. Their other games are as shallow as it gets

Folks at Reddit and in Bloodborne Discords checked the boss' HP and resistances as well as your inventory size, enemy drop tables, and max theoretical damage output. Unless we find a way to reliably glitch the consumable damage into higher values (for example with a recent "duped throwing knives" glitch), that boss is impossible to beat in this run even if you get perfect RNG on enemy drops and stack the lootable corpses near the fog gate to resupply during the fight. It might be doable in Gun Only though, due to another new bug which gives you a short burst of rapid-fire gunshots with no QS bullet use at the cost of limited mobility.

I just love how much freedom you have in BB for what route you want to take. They really dropped the ball on DS3, route wise it's gotta be the most linear of the Soulsbourne series.
@@vyor8837 ah yes, the amazing design (sarcasm) of farron keep, dlc 1 in general , the dreg heap, smoldering lake, road of sacrifices, and the amazing boss designs of oceiros with his instant charge, yhorm, wolnir, ancient wyvern, gravetender and great wood. Look, Ds3 has some memorable bosses, don't get me wrong. But it's a step down from the other soulsborne games.
@@szarekhthesilentking7043 farron keep is better than blight town, DLC 1 is miles better than the painting, dreg heap is fine, smouldering lake is just a bit boring, since when is road of sacrifices a bad map?, won't hear me defending the charge but he's still better than pinwheel, yhorm is a good boss(esp with the onion's quest) the first or second time through, wolnir is fine and has a neat gimmick, gravetender is shit(along with halflight), and greatwood is pretty good as an early game optional boss(sure as fuck better than the fuck with 2 dogs).
@@vyor8837 well, while I do agree with some things, I disagree with others. Blighttown is a shitty map, but it doesn't have that many annoying enemies unlike farron keep (head jumpers especially are fucking awful in farron). Dlc 1 is awful especially after vilhelm and in the first area, but even the parts in between are fucking awful, like having to drop down a tree, and the biggest problem with road of sacrifices, farron keep, and the dreg heap are the swamps that slow you down. The dreg heap also has swarms of annoying enemies in the first part too. Yhorm at this point just qualifies as a cutscene if you saved siegward (which I doubt you'll do that easily in the first playthrough without a guide) and if you decide to limit yourself it's still easy but just as a damage sponge. Wolnir's fight is also another gimmick fight, which are very present in Ds3, which isn't that fun. Greatwood is boring, another gimmick fight, and the music it has is also horrible unlike the other bosses of Ds3, which all have decent if not good music. The fact with Ds3 is that the most memorable fights aren't that much more than any other soulsborne games, and you have a fuckton of unique or fun stuff that is nowhere, and some mechanics that are also pretty bad (but every souls game has some bad mechanics, so that's not saying much). It's the most linear one, the most spam oriented one, the gankiest one (yes, even above dark souls 2. The reason you notice it less in 3 is that you can just run away from basically any enemy in every situation, which also isn't a good thing). Is it still a great fucking game? Yeah, it is. It's definitely in my top 10 (and since I haven't played sekiro or demon's souls yet, it's still safely in my top 5). And it's the one I started with too. But in many ways, it's disappointing.
This may upset you greatly, but...my friend is playing this game for the first time, and he got a Shaman Bone Blade as a rare drop from the first Brainsucker he killed.
@@pehobg I mean I am assuming he is joking or at least not being literal considering if you know the series well that’s clearly not true for a large amount of the content in these games. (Except most ds2 bosses)

The content of the video was great, but the editing was phenomenal. I found myself emotionally invested very quick and was genuinely upset when I thought it to be impossible to beat Maria. The music, the subtitles, everything about this was perfect. Another flawless video by ymfah
The best thing about these videos are all the little references to other media. It always feels like I can tell what kinda stuff ymfah's been watching/playing while working on these.
Probably your most inspirational video yet, ymfah! I admit I was hooked when you first made Maria out to be impossible, and a part of me was saying internally "nah he is definitely going to destroy her somehow :D". And then when you went to Gehrman instead, I really did think there was no way, even if for just a little while. Not to mention Orphan lmao. Those run-killing "baits" were nicely done, bravo. But of course, you did it. Made it possible any way you could, and I admire that. Fantastic work, and I cannot wait until your next video!
This feels like a compilation of all his efforts and titles; a sort of magnum opus of his best works with all these title changes and music call backs as well. Cheers!
I especially love the fact that EACH boss has a unique trick for beating it with this challenge. With some others once you have the build down its basically rinse and repeat until the boss dies. But this one is so much harder you need to bend the game to its very limits to have just enough resources to kill a boss.
every ymfah video is so damn impressive with the amount of time and effort put into it, but what's even more impressive to me is that each video is somehow better than the last. truly incredible

Most of this run is a lot more do-able than the other games, as long as your aim and route are good. You know, out of all the things in these videos, I would like to applaud one of the best parts: the music!
So diverse, so perfectly inserted, a masterpiece of editing and cinematography.
While all parts are absolutely exceptional on every level, the music is always underrated.
Thank you for all the effort you put into sculpting this beautiful experience for us.
It’s not much, but our gratitude for your work is pure and genuine and will long outlast the 40+ minute runtime of this video.
It also goes to show how good the music from Persona games is xD
Really makes it sting all the more when you try to watch one that’s been claimed so there’s just a minute long section of silence over a montage
The FFBE soundtrack deserves more credit.
Loved that rendition of that Evangelion song at the beginning.
always been my favorite part of the videos, great timing and choices of song always. Idk if it's underrated or rather just not discussed that much
Using Heaven's Divide at the end was magnificent! This man's taste in music is unmatched at this point
I can't even begin to imagine the ludicrous amount of time you must've dedicated to this, I love all of your videos keep up the great work!

The edit at the end was godlike. Such a good sync with the music. Felt like the end of a well fought journey

Once again you amaze me. This is a legendary run. When you abandoned Maria, I knew you'd be back. And you did not disappoint me. Well done sir.
When we needed him the most, he came back with one more banger of a video.
Thanks a lot for this christmas present ymfah!
I'm shocked that the game walkthrough made me emotional. This is truly content of highest order
Another masterpiece! I love how you include "route changes" as you find better methods to beat bosses or make your builds more streamlined.
I just love how much freedom you have in BB for what route you want to take. They really dropped the ball on DS3, route wise it's gotta be the most linear of the Soulsbourne series.
@@thekaz5225 makes boss and area design better tho
Lmao i Had The Same Drop on My First run and i never used it
I get that a lot on almost all runs.

Yeah
The amount of patience you must have for all of these, man, much respect
He is a man of pure focus and sure will.
I love how his videos are like tutorials like anyone would be crazy or skilled enough to do what he does.
Whats more Impressive is the skill of what ever mental health doctor he has he is one insane masochist
The music choice and edit on kos bossfight really made me shiver. All your previous videos are fun and show up how much dedication is necessary for this kind of content, but this was a masterpiece man. Never stop making those, they make my days better.
It’s a nice change of pace to see you not just show the first attack of an item at the beginning of a video, then immediately playing the sad music.

Most of this run is a lot more do-able than the other games, as long as your aim and route are good. Who'd have thought that _Bloodborne_ would be the game where consumables are the most viable.
...And then you hit the Noble, Gehrman, and the DLC, but hey, at least its feasible to see credits in this run. Great video! Never saw the Noble boss before, and this video showed it off more than most would.
Laughs in Dark Souls 2 99 of all consumables.
@@SympatheticStrawmanVA More than 99, even. That's the one advantage the Souls games have over Bloodborne's consumables. Damage is trash and the DLC bosses are nightmares, but you'll never run out and DLC bosses are always nightmares.
@@RougeMephilesClone
As someone who's done (base game) dark souls 2 consumable only (ironically ymfah released his video right as I was finishing up) I can say that it's actually pretty easy (excluding dlc and certain optional fights)
@@pineappleudh6561 Consumable-only does seem a lot easier on a whole than pacifist runs. You can deal damage, you just need to know how to keep the money flowing, and when and where to attack.
